It was quite the hike to get to the playground, and the playground itself was just that, no frills or special effects. I thought it might be themed to some of the stories by him! There were a fair amount of people enjoying the space. I'd love to comeback early in the morning after the rain and just hold space in solitude with the falls. It seems like a very sacred space and would love the silence of just the falls and the song of the wind dancing through the trees as it meanders through the canyon. Other hikers were there too but it wasn't crowded which is a plus. The falls wasn't huge but still a good amount of running water. It was beautiful and relaxing soaking in some mother nature. Keep an eye out on the entrance from the road, we missed it the first time and had to back track. Other than that, once you enter from the road, it's for the most part straight forward to the entrance of the hike.

It's FREE and open to the public. It's located in the center of Downtown Solvang. There's free public parking behind the park. There are tables and benches off to the side. They also wooden displays around where kids and/or adults can take pictures. Overall a beautiful time to visit since the rest of the businesses also get into the festive move and everything is decorated.

The replica statue has been in Solvang since 1976! I know that it used to be dry for a little while, but I am happy to report that while visiting last weekend, the water was flowing. The author of The Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Andersen, who is Danish is honored throughout Solvang with not only this fountain, but also a museum that is across the street. This statue shows The Little Mermaid with 2 legs and is also bronze. It is a beautiful statue and is definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Solvang. It stands at about 4 feet and since it is located on a street corner, it is completely free to check out!

This originally topped one of the towers at the Danish Pavilion at San Francisco's 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. After the expo was over, the buildings were demolished and this wind harp was transported to its current location in Solvang. It plays peaceful music when the wind blows but it's not something I would go out of my way to visit. I was in, took a couple pictures, and left within minutes.
