Solvang Park is right in the center of downtown Solvang. Don't mistaken this park with the Hans Christian Andersen Park that's just a few blocks from this park like I did LOL. There are concrete tables and benches for people to sit, chill, and people watch. There's a gazebo for live music and/or artsy performances to be showcased and/or maybe weddings to be performed. A bust of Hans Christian Andersen is located here. Water station is available. Restrooms are right there. Free parking is right next to this park. It's just a nice park to hang out at after a long days of walking, shopping, and eating. You can't miss it because it's right in the center of it all. You'll see it when you drive along Mission Drive which is the main street besides the side streets. Enjoy this park!

Centrally located off Mission Drive & 1st St., Solvang Park is in the heart of this Danish heritage city. It is a small park filled with mature towering trees, which shades one during the hot summer days in Solvang. The park is home to special events, a bronze Hans Christian Anderson bust, and a moderate size bandstand. Public restrooms are available.

What a beautiful evening on a Christmas week! Absolutely love the Jule fest music, lighting, the vibe. Ending the day with a trolley ride having their ice cream was a perfect way to wrap up. The music show on the beautiful Christmas tree was amazing.

Quaint little park in the middle of Solvang. Been to Solvang many times over the years, but I had never spent any time at Solvang Park during those visits until recently. We spent Christmas 2024 walking around this charming town. During the evenings of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we walked over to Solvang Park for a cool light and music show. This little park is decorated all over the place with lights that dance around and change colors with Christmas music playing. The show would last about 15 minutes, and it would take place a few times throughout the evening. There are a few picnic tables, a bandstand/gazebo, public restrooms, and a cool Hans Christian Andersen sculpture at the park too.

This is a small triangular park just off of Mission Dr. We used to come here every now and then on family road trips when I was a kid. These days, a half marathon brings me back out here. This park has been used as part of the venue for that half marathon. After a long drive out here, it's nice that they have relatively clean restrooms here at the park.

Solvang Park is a small triangular park located in the heart of the Solvang area. There is usually a farmers market on the street next to this park and the grassy area makes for good picnics. There was also a gazebo, tables, restrooms, and a statue of Danish author Hans Christian Andersen at the park. They offer free Friday night movies at this park during the summer.

Little bit of green in the city. We visited during Julefest. They have lots of lights and a big tree, some cutouts to take pictures at and Santa pictures sometimes. Cute to visit for the light show (every half hour) and a look around but you probably won't spend more than 20 minutes here. The ground is hardened mud or thin grass so you don't want to sit on it.

Small park which features a bust of Hans Christian Andersen. Andersen is loved for his fairy tales which include The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, The Princess and The Pea, and The Emperor's New Clothes. The Disney's "Frozen" was loosely based on "The Snow Queen." Nice place for an early morning walk or to burn a few calories after eating an Almond Custard Kringle from Olsen's Danish Village Bakery.

Clean spot to relax and cool off

Great park in the heart of town. Very clean and well cared for. A doggy watering station would make the spot even nicer.

This tiny park is a refuge in the center of the village of Solvang. It boasts a large bronze bust of Hans Christian Anderson, author of the Little Mermaid, and many tables for visitors to have a bite to eat, or just rest. We ate at The Stone Cow across from the park, and the manager told us that they pack up their cheeseboard lunches for picnics in the summer time. It is also located near the public restrooms, the first stop for most people entering town. The park has a pergola, and features bands in the summer, when people sit on the grass.

Local Eval.: This rather tiny pocket park is cute, well maintained, & is a great jump off point, especially if you want to hit the wonderful Weds. Solvang Farmers Market which is at one end of the park. Beware of some local shops alleged "scams", that I note at the end of my review. While Solvang has gone downhill in terms of being more of a tourist ripoff area [it reminds me of the urban sprawl of Waikiki], our recent discovery of this Northern Santa Barbara County Farmers Market makes a brief trip here worth it. While it is difficult to tell what structures in downtown Solvang are historic or which are just cheesy tourist glitz, the original intend of the people who settled here, was to live a simple live and have a simple Danish Lutheran community in non-descipt houses [see Wikipedia]. Fake windmills [which came much later to satisfy tourist expectations] & rip-off places aside, the people who actually live here are quite nice, and some can be found as local vendors in the Farmers Market. This park boast a fairly clean large public bathroom, ample free parking, and a number of picnic tables to eat food, from either the Farmers Market, or from nearby places. As others have noted, it functions as the "Central Park" of Solvang and is also geared toward locals, with both events, and seasonal decorations, with a live Pine/Christmas tree on the grounds. The bust of Hans C. Anderson give this park a sense of history. Between the proximity to the Farmers Market, the multitude of mostly cheesy/pricey tourist shops, a public free bathroom, a large parking area, a tourist information booth in the parking area, and the ability to have ones kids run around a bit as one dives into a fresh pie or fruit from the Farmers Market, it is a definite winner on a nice Wednesday afternoon....especially off-season. While the touristy part of Solvang is overrated, many of the backroads, or nearby areas have even better appeal. This park is well centered to enable one to zip into or out of town and either head to the lovely surrounding countryside, or visit the somewhat quieter nearby towns. If you do not want to fall for the overpriced tourist shops for eats, I would recommend grabbing stuff at the Farmers Market, heading over to Buellton [i.e. Industrial Eats or Peasoup Andersons], or checking out the country roads that head north, south, east, or west past Buellton. There are back roads that lead one up out of Solvang that pass by both nearby vineyards/wine tasting, and do eventually cannot with Foxen Canyon Road's great wine/vineyard/scenic tract which extends almost all the way to Santa Maria. The backroads here offer all kinds of country view or hiking treats, once you venture out of this park. You can also head to higher elevations on road such as Figueroa Mountain Road which makes a great loop that encompass the foothills above the little nearby towns of Los Olivos, Ballard, and Santa Ynez. BTW- Right near, or next, to this park, there seems to be a bit of tourist "scam" going on in front of some shops, where they offer you a tiny bit of soap [which I thought at first was small pieces of candy]. Once you fall for the sample, at least one place, started to BS my honey. First, they suggest that the soap will melt in your hand, so they offer to wrap it for you. Second, they ask you to please promise them that you will have a romantic evening, as they do the wrapping. Thirdly, they then ask your honey as to what skin conditioner that they use, while claiming to see bags under their eyes [which was impossible in this case, since my honey was wearing dark sunglasses and has near perfect skin]. Finally, they ask your honey to remove her glasses, so that they can apply some of their own skin conditioner. While I grew up in NYC & can usually spot a ripoff a mile away, this even surprised me a bit. My honey was greatly offended and she almost snapped at the next vendor who attempted a similar "free sample". Since this occurred several times with several different vendors around this park, Solvang really needs to crack down on such behavior. After this occurred, we were highly motivated to leave the town ASAP & my wife was angry & deeply offended. Apparently, off-season "scams" are rewarding since you may see a number of good looking people holding sample trays right at several store entrances. As I was raised as a Lutheran myself, I felt bad for Solvang's reputation. In addition, while the Farmers Market baked goods are very fresh & had fair prices, the same cannot be said of what I saw in some of the surrounding bakeries!

Small park but a nice place to enjoy Danish Architecture nearby. All the buildings look really CUTE! There's public restroom available and its clean with basic amenities

Clean and nice park to let the kids run lose for an hour. Decent public bathroom nearby, although ran out of soap. Some street parking around. Also check out the famous author!

I really had a blast checking out all the decor and elements at this park! It fits right into Solvang's Danish theme! By the way, Solvang translates to "Sunny Field(s)". If you are in downtown, it would be better to drive to this park. It's not in the main touristy area of Solvang. We drove out to the park since it's about 3 miles away. There is free parking, playground, picnic areas, sports fields, walking path, & restrooms. This park is unique! I planned to come see it for myself when I came to Solvang on Jan. 17, 2026. Every aspect from the entrance sign to the playground is filled with Danish decor! I was intrigued with the mosaic clock tower out front and the embedded elements in the walkway. The playground is awesome! You walk through the windmill to the slightly raised decking. I checked out the neat painted wood panels, each with cutouts for your face or body. Photo Op time! There's a castle with towers, slides, tire swings and regular swings, rubber rope to walk across, rock climbing wall, monkey bars, rings, and more! More specific Danish themed items at this park are a Gingerbread House, Puppet Theater and Viking Ship. They're so cool! There's also a Tot Lot for 2-5 year olds and adult supervision is required. The play houses and a wagon for climbing are in this area. It also has spring ride-on animals and 3 baby swings. There's a picnic shelter with a Santa Maria style grill. It's perfect for grilling lots of food for a large group! The restrooms are just beyond this picnic shelter. They are each accessed by their own door. I prefer this style rather than the multi-stall restroom. Whether or not you are a kid, kid at heart, have kids, or have kids with kids... come check it out! I think you'll be happy you did!
