I would like to personally thank two individuals that were key in my solar and roof project - specifically Gavin (Energy Specialist) and Drea (who was on top of operations and final permit to operate). Considering we were able to get both a complete re-roof AND solar in between our record rains in Los Angeles is impressive. Once the reroof and solar was complete, it took Edison about 2-3 weeks to provide Notice to Operate. The timing of the process was reasonable. I appreciate the professionalism and having a specific contact walk through the process with me from signing the docs to the completion of the project. This personalized attention helped understand the process. I did wait to write this review until I received my first electric bill after installation. I am excited to share that the solar is working perfectly and with my very first electric bill, it is so awesome to see credits instead of charges on my electric bill! Finally, the best incentive to combine my reroof, solar project and EV Charger together as all part of the basis for the Federal Solar Tax Credit. Increased home value and decreased costs is a win! Very disappointed with SunGrid Solar. My system was installed on May 28 and is still not working. The project has been delayed multiple times, and communication has been poor throughout the process. I was recently told an inspector would come to my home on a specific day, so I stayed home waiting. No one showed up, and I was not notified that the appointment was canceled or rescheduled. This caused me to waste time and added to the ongoing frustration of an already delayed project. I am still waiting for a clear timeline for completion and activation of my system. Our experience with SunGrid Solar has been extremely disappointing and stressful, especially during a very difficult time for our family. We are sharing our experience with SunGrid Solar regarding a system installed at our property in Gardena, CA. The system was installed for a family member who unfortunately passed away before the project was completed. After her passing, we contacted SunGrid Solar to understand next steps and finalize the project. At that time, we were not informed about the status of final inspection or Permission to Operate (PTO). We later learned that the system had not received final inspection approval and PTO had not been issued. A payment dispute arose, and a settlement was eventually reached for $15,000 to resolve the matter. As part of that process, we received documentation including a release. However, the system still does not have PTO, and we have not been able to get clear guidance or assistance from SunGrid Solar on completing the final inspection process required for activation. We have attempted multiple times to contact the company by phone, text, and email over the past several weeks but have not received a response. As of today: * The system has been paid for under a settlement agreement * PTO has not been granted * Final inspection has not been completed * We have not received follow-up support from the company We are currently working directly with the city and utility to try to resolve the situation. ***Update 3/26**** Well we now have yet another true up bill from SCE that is over $1500 this is now 3 years in a row! Now all 4 properties that Sungrid installed solar on does not produce enough energy and we are all paying a hell of a lot more for electricity than before solar was installed. SunGrid Solar is a predatory company that will make promises that never materialize in order to get you to sign with them. My Wife and I was promised $5000 to sign with them. Never received. Then installed a solar system in a net metering 3 area without a backup battery. It requires a backup up battery to store your electricity so at night it pulls your electricity from the battery not the grid(PGE). So we are paying PGE at the prior rate and the solar system so how are we saving money? Andrew Higgins promised to make it right but never did. No returned calls from him , or his staff. I got my panels installed April 2022 by July 2022 started having issues with my panels. My bills have been high for the past year. Try reaching several times to general manager Andrew leaving messages emailing calling the main number I get no answers no return phone calls no emails I once got a hold of him after six months of calling and leaving messages he told me he would call me back in a few days. It's been six months later still have no word from him this is ridiculous. I do not recommend this company to anybody because mistake I've ever made. Now I'm stuck with panels that don't even work and a company that I don't even know if it's still in business.!?!?! Andrew took measurements of my home and went over my PG&E bills which showed an average of $275.00 a month. My average bill now is around $12.00 a month. He also suggested that if I was going to invest in an electral car, it would be to my benefit to add a couple of panels. If and when I do, I will surely get in touch with Andrew. BEFORE YOU BUY A SOLAR SYSTEM CHECK OUT THIS COMPANY. You will not find better customer service. From start to finish this 25 panel system took less than 1 month. Every step was well coordinated and on time. Communication is the best I have ever seen. Andrew, who is the owner of the company was always available to discuss the project and was directly responsible for coordinating the install. Contracts were signed, design was completed and sent to me in 3 days, The installer came out in 3 days and checked and measured for the installation, I approved the design and the plans were immediately sent to the County for approval, plans approved in one week! Within 2 days Andrew called me for an install date, materials were ordered and sent within 5 days, installations was scheduled for 3 days later, The installer arrived and within 4 days the system was installed and ready to operate. On the final day of installation, the county building inspector arrived and inspected the job. It passed with flying colors! Within 1 day, the Permit to Operate was sent to Edison and within 2 days Edison authorized the system to Operate! There is an amazing attention to detail. A couple of roof tiles were cracked but were immediately replaced. All conduit was painted to house color, all pipes are straight. There were a few minor issues in my original panel that the installer simply fixed without a change order or a price increase. The installer stayed with the inspector and was able to explain in detail the install. They have a Job Tracking app that is useful. The paperwork is flawless and easily explained. The price was competitive and there were no add on charges that can usually be expected. read more
