IMHO This is my…read morefavorite ABC Store on the island. Perhaps it's because its location is in the nicest shopping mall in Maui, and the square footage of the store is huge. It carries the usual touristy items and souvenirs plus anything you forgot to pack, and food/drink. However, this trip I discovered some cute new items that I will consider for future visits. Check out the cute socks! I was happy to find next year's (2027) calendars already in stock, two for $5, or one for $2.99. We also found a warming oven full of spam musubi and chicken katsu musubi! We chose the katsu for a quick shared snack. It was delicious and the perfect size to satisfy our hunger. Customer service is excellent and aloha friendly as always!

Perfect stop fo' sovereigns, snacks, drinks, even all the beach gear you forgot in the car. Walk inside, everything stay clean, organized, and got that happy aloha vibe soon as you step through the door. The service? Solid. Folks behind the counter get you in and out quick, no hassle, no attitude just real island style kindness. And the best part: the prices. Fair, consistent, no kinda price gouging or funny business. Feels good when a place treats you right, yeah? ABC Store always got my back. Simple, convenient, and straight up reliable. Exactly how it's supposed to be.

I tried on one of the RipCurl tees, size XL, and it fit good, so I picked another XL teeshirt. I did not actually try it on because it was also an XL. When I got back to the condo in Kihei, I cut tags off and got them ready for wearing. The next morning, I put on the XL and it was too small. I tried on the other XL and it fit fine. I noticed a tear right away in the seem of the shirt that fit, so we took them back. The receipt/return policy clearly states that refund or exchanges are OK with receipt. When we tried to return them, Jessica and two other employees stated that the manager said they smell and the tags were removed, so they would not exchange or refund. We were confused about "smell", as my wife and I smelled them and they smelled like new store merchandise. We did not wash or wear them, and only tried them on. My wife asked to speak to district manager. The district manager reluctantly approved the exchange. RIP Curl is supposedly a reputable brand, but if they will not stand behind their products, we will not shop there again. WARNiNG to all Rip Curl shoppers at Wailea Shops... DONT SHOP here... Rip Curl does not care about repeat business, value of their product, and has ZERO business integrity. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Gucci was my first stop and we were warmly welcomed by SA, William. He offered us water and asked how he could help. He also let us know that shopping on the island is cheaper than the continental US. William informed us that Gucci had more items in the back, than what was on display. I showed him my wish list and he was off to gather the items for me. I love browsing and the Gucci displays are beautiful. William was able to produce every item on my wish list. After going back and forth trying on purses, I found one that I loved. He added my information to the Gucci customer base and I called my wallet over aka the Husband to pay. He came back with a beautifully wrapped box and I was on my way. After tax, we saved about $200.00 vs picking it up on the main land.

We've always been treated with respect whenever we've gone into any high end stores like Chanel or LV. But today was different, my wife wanted to see what Gucci had and buy some jewelry. We should have known from the first interaction or should I say the lack of with the first female employee (who very much looked Filipino) on how the experience was going to be. She made eye contact but did not greet us or asked if we needed any assistance. Two other female workers saw us and did the same thing. Come to think about it, they made more of an effort to not make any eye contact at all. We still did not make a big deal out of it, several minutes had passed by as my wife looked around on her own. She finally was going to ask for help to see their jewelry collection. When a white couple walked in and both of the workers went out of their way to greet and ask them if they needed any help. While literally going around my wife who was in the process of asking them for assistance. That was the final straw and she just wanted to get out of the store. She was visibly upset to a point where the first female employee that ignored us actually asked her if she was okay. My wife just shooked her head in disbelief and walked out. She went next door to LV instead, and while she was there I went back to Gucci to let them know how I felt and how my wife was treated. Luckily the person that I interacted with was the store director, I believe his name was William Vega-Alvarez. I told him everything that had happened and at first he was trying to defend his employees stating that they must have been busy and was just accidentally overlooked. That's when I told him that it was just us inside the store at the time. I told him that I know that the workers gets extra money based on commission of sales, but to dismiss us a potential non buyers was unacceptable. I told him that we've shopped at that store before and to look up our name if needed as proof. He said that he believed me and insured that it was not a practice of any of the employees to do of what I had described. I told him well it just happened to us right now. He asked when it took place and I told him no more than 5 minutes ago. He followed up by asking for a description of the workers. I told him you guys have cameras here right? I told him just look at the footage to see for yourself. He said he will and that he apologized for what happened. I told him what happened to us was unacceptable and should have never taken place. I hoped deep down it wasn't a racial issue but more of class profiling, since all the workers were all minorities. But then again, as soon as the white couple walked in they were treated very differently. I think it's time for that store to do a refresher training with all its employees on how to treat everyone equally.
