Ro worked hard and got some help from Jack to bend my wireless glasses hinge and temple back into good shape (I sat on the glasses while watching for tsunami last Wednesday). The frames are delicate and Ro worked carefully to restore as much alignment as possible. She knew I didn't buy the glasses at Lens Crafters. It didn't matter. Having a relaxing time on vacation and found my eyeglasses, which I use at night, popped a lens out. During the day, I use contacts, but it's nice to see after I take the contacts out. After a quick Yelp search, I found the LensCrafters was a quick drive across the island. Once they opened the next morning, I gave them a call and got assurance they would do their best to repair my glasses. The nice young lady also suggested that if I could get a copy of my Rx from my optometrist, if they couldn't fix my current pair, they could set me up with an affordable replacement without the expense of another eye exam. My current Eye Doc's office found my record and shot me a copy of the prescription. Off we went for a beautiful drive across Maui. As soon as I arrived, they took a look and handed the glasses parts to a technician. Within s few minutes, I had my glasses --. Which fit great All with kindness and no charge! Update September 2020 It's a Sunday and I just happened to go in the Queens Mall for books. My Rx sunglasses had lost the exact fit for my face. Prob too many times in the case. Well i dropped in for a adjustment , and was told no worry we can do that now. It was a regular fitting like getting new glasses and after the third try on , they were exact. This was no charge, no questions and simple. I think every step together was only ten minutes or so. The fit is so good. I could not be adjusting these and run the risk. I've been to multiple places for eye exams and glasses and LensCrafters was the best one of all! I was recommended to go to this location by a few of my old coworkers. Getting an appointment is fast and easy, you can either call or do it online. For a few years I have been seen by Dr. Truong and he's awesome! Dr. Truong is very good at chair side manners and he explains everything to you very well. I was always afraid of getting contacts but he talked me into it last year and I'm happy that I ditched glasses! When I was getting my contacts fitted I was helped by Ro. She's super sweet and nice every time I go here. I have really bad anxiety but Ro was so patient with me when I was learning how to use contacts. She even taught me a trick on how she places/removes her contacts. Although it took me 30 minutes (very long I know) she kept reassuring me to not be afraid to touch my eye. The customer service here is great and the entire place is so clean. They sell very nice frames for glasses. I bought two Raybans, one with clear lenses and one for sunglasses. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who needs to get their eyes checked or buy glasses! read more

I cannot say enough about how great the staff here is! We had an early flight out of Honolulu and (after a sleepless night and rushing to get to the Uber) I left my glasses on the dash of my car (as I always do). We were going to Maui for work for a week or more and I knew I would be driving at night, so I needed my glasses! Thankfully, my eye doctor was working on Saturday and was able to provide me with my prescription. That weekend was President's Day weekend, so Lenscrafters was crazy busy! BUT, the girls were just AWESOME!!! (My apologies as my trip extended another week I forgot all their names.) Not to mention, the sales they had that weekend were UNBELIEVABLE!! I went in late on Saturday and was more than happy to return on Sunday to pick them up; but, OMG - no matter how busy they were, the glasses were done just as we were about to leave the mall. I was beyond ecstatic since that would mean I didn't have to drive in from Kihei the next day. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!! I know there's a location here in Honolulu; but, I'm seriously thinking of flying into Maui the next time I need glasses - that's how great these guys are! read more

5 stars for Dr. Rummal, who was patient, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions about different lens options. 1 star for the rude worker who did the first part of my eye exam. After she looked at my eyes in the machine, her exact words to me were "Wow, your eyes are bad". I work in mental health and I have many friends who are nurses and doctors. We would NEVER use this kind of judgmental and negative language with our clients. If you are in the medical field supposedly to help others, why would you insult someone's physical condition (which they may have no control over)? She could have just said my prescription was high like Dr. Rummal did. I called her out on her comment being inappropriate and she apologized, but then she said "I just never saw someone so high in the negative". Obviously this wasn't a nice comment either. A worker calling someone's vision bad at an optometrist's office is like a PCP telling me "Wow you're fat" at a physical exam. After sitting me down in the next office, the worker sat in her chair for a few minutes typing on her phone. Even if it had to do with work, she should have said "the doctor will be right with you" or something like that. If I text in front of my clients I always make sure to say I'll be right with them, or I need to do something important on my phone. I had to interrupt her texting and ask if the doctor was going to come in soon. It was my birthday and after spending $250 out of pocket on this appointment, I should not be leaving feeling irritated. She was nicer at checkout but I recommend more training for your staff to speak to clients in a respectful and professional way. Thanks Dr. Rummal for being so kind and positive during the visit. My glasses broke yesterday. I went in today, a Saturday, and picked a new pair. They were ready in an hour! Amazing. Only 4 stars, because you better be prepared to pay! They only offer designer brands; Dolce & Gobbana, Ray-Ban, Tiffany & Co., etc. Thank god I have insurance, my new glasses would've been $762. Still ended up paying $366, but again, ready in an hour. Plus, my glasses came with a warranty, if they are broken/damaged in the next year, I only need to pay a $25 copay to have them fixed. Growing up I had 20/20 vision and never needed glasses. Although as I've now crested over the ridge of life that is my early 30's I started noticing that I would immediately lose my golf ball upon my initial drive and would have to strain to see where it landed. A coworker let me try his glasses and I was taken back to the early 90s when ace of base ruled supreme and it opened up my eyes. Distant trees weren't just rough shapes, I could see every branch and leaf. Fast forward two months and I'm searching for glasses after getting my prescription. I'm not a nerd, I've never had glasses. How do you buy glasses?! Do you just show up? I called Lenscrafters and Taylor assisted me with letting me know that you just show up. Upon arriving she asked some questions to get a feel for exactly how vain I was and what kind of frames I was looking for. Oh man, Taylor knocked it out of the park with my vague description of I'm looking for that 80's filipino dad aesthetic. Gold rim aviator ray bans. She had me pegged almost immediately. Mind you this is after I spent a good chunk of time looking for frames myself. Taylor had picked the perfect pair of frames within 3 minutes. Doing measurements and adjustments was a breeze. This didn't feel like a used car lot either with the hard upsells. As someone who spent 3 decades making fun of my friends who needed glasses, it was a hard pill to swallow to finally break down and join them. I was shocked at the poor quality of eye exam that was so fast I knew it was incomplete, resulting in a wrong prescription that I later had verified by paying for another eye exam elsewhere. Normally, eye exams include 6 or 8 or even more comparisons like, which is better 1 or 2? The "doctor" there asked me that only 2-3 times for each eye, 1 time for distance, and it felt so rushed that I questioned the accuracy before investing in expensive lenses and frames. Sure enough, after a quality and thorough eye exam elswhere, the prescription was significantly incorrect. I would not recommend this location or eye doctor, Dr. Andrew Rummel. read more

The staff at Lenscrafters are amazing. I walked in to have my scratched up lenses replaced, and without my knowledge...or theirs...I had an incorrect prescription. Painstakingly, patiently, and with good humor, they all helped me to build the perfect pair of glasses, on the third try. I almost cried when I put on my glasses and could see! I don't think there is one staff member I did not work with. It was a team effort. Each one was determined to make it happen. They are all extremely knowledgeable, innovative, kind, patient and have incredibly great attitudes. They kept me calm with their sincere desire to assist and determination. And, by the third pair of glasses, we had become friends, and were all laughing together. I will never go anywhere else. I made an appointment to see their eye doctor, so this would not happen again.
