I had high hopes. They seemed professional over the phone. I should've known better when they texted me and emailed me every day that if I didn't confirm my appt. Every day leading up to it, my appt wouldn't be officially confirmed. They made sure to let me know to come 15 minutes early but they were so late to take me for my appointment. I understand know as they had SO MANY PEOPLE in one area - no regard for social distancing or wiping down areas between people. I asked ahead of time how long the appointment would take and they said 60 minutes. It was 45 minutes before I finally got sat in one of the service areas. The entire appt was 10 minutes with the doctor and no actual medical questions answered about eye pressure or cataracts inquiries (that's only discussed after your insurance approves treatment. How do I consider treatment if I am not informed of the ramifications??) The HIPPA concerns about close quarter patient discussions are glaring. To boot, I was over charged multiple times and had to call back to be refunded. I have yet to receive a call back from their office manager over 4 weeks later..... read more

Well, the optometrist I was going to for the last 34 years has finally closed due to retirement. Good for him. That left me in need of an optometrist for my checkups. Did some online searching and found Maui Optometry. Online reviews were mixed and a couple of friends didn't care for Maui Optometry. I called anyway. Left my name and contact number and received a return call the next day. I was expecting a callback the same day, oh well. Made an appointment for the following week. They followed up with reminder emails and I was able to fill out the new patient forms online. Was a little leery about doing online forms but there's also an option to private hard copies and manually fill them out. The day came, I arrived in the parking lot and called the office as requested in the reminder email. Was cleared to enter the office. Got inside and felt at ease with all the precautions they have taken to keep everyone safe. Waited for a short while and Jasmine got me and started the initial testing. All modern medical devices that went well and was fast. Met Dr Nguyen and she was full of energy and explained about the tests she was going to conduct and answered all my questions. I felt at ease and gave her my trust. Dr Nguyen mentioned some options and let me decide what I wanted to try. Trying mono vision with contacts. So far I like it and will try it out for a few days and decide. They all are so accommodating and great to deal with. First impression was impressive and will recommend them to friends and family. read more

Super frustrated! When scheduling my appointment I specifically asked how long the appointment would take as I had an afternoon meeting; I was told 60-90 minutes. I drove out from the west side and I arrived to my appointment on time (actually a little early, but they had me go in at my scheduled time - which was fine). Once the assistant did two pre-tests, she had me wait in the waiting area. I waited over 30 minutes and the optometrist was still seeing another patient. I was told he was almost done, but after waiting awhile longer he was still not out. I said I could not wait any longer. The staff were friendly and I had no issues with them. It is ironic that they have this sign on the front desk. Does my time matter? I think I should get $75 for doctor no show. Wasted three hours for nothing. read more

My experience has been absolutely terrible. I had my exam over two months ago and have been waiting for my trial contacts to arrive that we're supposed to be here within the week. I have made numerous attempts to contact the office and doctor by phone email and text. No one bothers to call me back and follow up with me. I finally had to go into the office and wait for hours to just get my prescription that I paid for to be able to order contacts that I have been in dire need for because of this whole debacle. Definitely don't recommend as they have horrible customer service and they like to overcharge and add extra fees even after I discussed my coverage and had them correct it only to be charged for the very overcharges we discussed. This optometry office will not get back to you in a timely manner. I also spoke with a female at the front desk who was adamant with a rude tone that I did not have any benefits I could use and to call my insurance company. I called my insurance and they verified that I did have benefits. I haven't been able to get a hold of Maui Optometry to simply get my exams over to the new clinic. I have decided to switch to another clinic who has great customer service and will take care of you. AVOID Maui Optometry AT ALL COSTS. read more

Avoid this office at all costs. I have nothing positive to say about the customer service, eye exams, and their billing department. I've been a contact and glasses user for over 30 years and visited many offices throughout the years for my annual visit and never had any issues with an optometrist before. This office had availability to see me which was the reason I went there and is probably the only positive thing I can say about this place. The optometrist downgraded my prescription after I insisted that I saw fine out of my current prescription that I've had for the last 15 years. Of course, I had trouble seeing out of my lowered prescription and had to go back again to get another prescription. Lost money as I already ordered my new lenses with my new wrong prescription that are unusable for me. Figured I had a bad experience and just wrote it off. Then after all of that, I recently started to get a bill for a visit 10 months ago that I already paid for in office. I keep trying to get in touch with them to discuss the bill and cannot get anyone to call me back, and respond to the multiple requests for them to contact me. The other negative reviews sounds just like my experience. You've been warned, avoid this office. They are horrible. I don't know how they continue to do business the way they do. read more

Maui optometry came through. I called and provided them with my info and a copy of my prescription. They had my prescription and was able to pick them up right away. While on vacation in Maui my primary glasses broke and I needed a replacement. I worked with Ashley and she was able to get my prescription and make me a new pair of glasses in 24 hours. She was GREAT!! Super customer service. She even called to follow up a couple days later to be sure I was comfortable with my new glasses. I would definitely go to this guys again! read more

Once we saw a doctor, they seemed fine but this office advertises themselves as great kids optometrists. We arrived on time and were put in a tiny room with nothing to look at for 45 minutes. I had a three year old there for an appointment and a one year old in tow. 45 minutes in a room with nothing was ridiculous. The doctor never even apologized when she came in.
