I had a wish list booked on my phone. There were a few pieces from Gucci, Louis Vuitton and YSL. I know that the prices on the mainland are higher than on Maui, HI. Gucci was my first stop and we were warmly welcomed by SA, William. He offered us water and asked how he could help. He also let us know that shopping on the island is cheaper than the continental US. William informed us that Gucci had more items in the back, than what was on display. I showed him my wish list and he was off to gather the items for me. I love browsing and the Gucci displays are beautiful. William was able to produce every item on my wish list. After going back and forth trying on purses, I found one that I loved. He added my information to the Gucci customer base and I called my wallet over aka the Husband to pay. He came back with a beautifully wrapped box and I was on my way. After tax, we saved about $200.00 vs picking it up on the main land. read more

Okay, so I've finally calmed down to leave a review. My wife and I are both Filipinos from California. We love Hawaii as a whole and will always be our favorite vacation destination. We've always been treated with respect whenever we've gone into any high end stores like Chanel or LV. But today was different, my wife wanted to see what Gucci had and buy some jewelry. We should have known from the first interaction or should I say the lack of with the first female employee (who very much looked Filipino) on how the experience was going to be. She made eye contact but did not greet us or asked if we needed any assistance. Two other female workers saw us and did the same thing. Come to think about it, they made more of an effort to not make any eye contact at all. We still did not make a big deal out of it, several minutes had passed by as my wife looked around on her own. She finally was going to ask for help to see their jewelry collection. When a white couple walked in and both of the workers went out of their way to greet and ask them if they needed any help. While literally going around my wife who was in the process of asking them for assistance. That was the final straw and she just wanted to get out of the store. She was visibly upset to a point where the first female employee that ignored us actually asked her if she was okay. My wife just shooked her head in disbelief and walked out. She went next door to LV instead, and while she was there I went back to Gucci to let them know how I felt and how my wife was treated. Luckily the person that I interacted with was the store director, I believe his name was William Vega-Alvarez. I told him everything that had happened and at first he was trying to defend his employees stating that they must have been busy and was just accidentally overlooked. That's when I told him that it was just us inside the store at the time. I told him that I know that the workers gets extra money based on commission of sales, but to dismiss us a potential non buyers was unacceptable. I told him that we've shopped at that store before and to look up our name if needed as proof. He said that he believed me and insured that it was not a practice of any of the employees to do of what I had described. I told him well it just happened to us right now. He asked when it took place and I told him no more than 5 minutes ago. He followed up by asking for a description of the workers. I told him you guys have cameras here right? I told him just look at the footage to see for yourself. He said he will and that he apologized for what happened. I told him what happened to us was unacceptable and should have never taken place. I hoped deep down it wasn't a racial issue but more of class profiling, since all the workers were all minorities. But then again, as soon as the white couple walked in they were treated very differently. I think it's time for that store to do a refresher training with all its employees on how to treat everyone equally. read more

Came to Maui with the hopes of leaving with a new designer bag. Came to the Shops of Wailea to browse all the stores. They have them all! My last stop was Gucci. My family was warmly welcomed (two toddlers, 5 & 3.) They offered my children bottled water right away- then proceeded to give them their own crayons & coloring books- with a mini gucci shopping bag to take them home in. They were so attentive to helping me find the right bag for my needs & didn't overwhelm me with choices. I finally decided on a bag, but the way they treated my family during the shopping experience really sold me. Especially being so kind to my children. Thank you to Christine! I bought a belt here a few years back but haven't had a chance to come back to punch a hole. When I came back to Maui, I decided I had to bring my belt back here to get a hole punched in so that the belt can fit better. I was immediately welcomed by Josephine. Sadly, they didn't have the shoes I was looking for but I unexpectedly found a cute red crossbody bag I liked. Glad we got it here because the Honolulu store didn't have it in red. The salesperson wasn't pushy nor followed us around like how they do at Prada (cough cough). We were offered beverages while we waited to be rung up. He put a bow on the box which was nice unlike the salesperson at the Waikiki store where I purchased the shoes I was looking for. Not a big deal but it's the small things. Overall, lovely experience! The mall was wonderful!! I ended up finding the bag I was looking for!! However, my friend did not. The reality of the disappointment was that we went last week which is at the end of the season so many of the bags and accessories were already sold. However if anyone is coming here and likes these bags remember they are cheaper then in comparison to the mainland. Just had the best experience here with Josie. We came here 3 days ago just shopping around, but weren't really sure if we wanted to purchase anything. I did try on about a few purses. She was patient and never pushed me to purchase anything. Today, we came here literally an hour before we they were about to close and thankfully Josie was here again! I was choosing which color, size, and style from the Dionysus collection that I wanted. Susan was patient as I tried on 2 of them and helped answer any questions that I had. I had came to this location after a lovely birthday dinner at Tommy Bahama so I could let my boyfriend know what I wanted for our anniversary. While my brother and I were in there on Monday 6/05 around 730p the lady working just followed us around and made us very uncomfortable just hovering and not saying anything to us , I had to say something to her because she wasn't treating anyone else in there like she was us , and the man working wasn't hovering over anyone like that either . Made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome . Definitely felt like racial profiling and was very upsetting . Left quickly rather than being able to browse comfortably and pick out things I wanted . The only reason this Gucci store gets 2 stars is because the 1st salesperson, Josie, was great. From then on, our entire experience was horrible! We called Gucci and left a message asking if they had a the "Jackie" purse in the color Misty White on a Sunday. By the next Thursday, no return call had been received. So we drove from Kapalua and with Josie waiting on us, my granddaughter bought the "Jackie" and my daughter bought a the large belt bag purse. Upon our return to Kapalua, we discovered a stitching flaw on the "Jackie". We went back to Gucci on Friday, arriving at 10:30 to see if they had another in stock for an exchange. Josie, our salesperson, was not there. Susan, another salesperson, told us we'd have to wait until noon when Josie was to be there, plus there was no manager arriving until noon as well, and it would be up to the store manager to decide what to do because the flaw "was so minor". Susan said no one else could help us! We asked her if there was another in stock and she said Josie would have to look! We asked her if she could at least see if one was available. She then rolled her eyes at us and went to the back and checked. Upon returning she said "no" and if we wanted an exchange we'd have to take the purse on display, but we'd still have to wait for Josie or the manager! If this is the Wailea Gucci policy, to be so rude and insensitive, plus with Louis Vuitton right next door and who will do anything to please their customers, we will never return! read more

I got there after my work pick up something for my friends birthday, I was with leggings and t-shirt on then workers gave me a sting look and talking about me behind my back, and laughing at my look which I caught it in the mirror. This is when Catherine came over to help us and she definitely changed our experience to 5 stars. She explained Hawaii prices to us, so this store is NOT an outlet store. Even made a point to make eye contact with the two sales associates. My husband who is much more patient than I said we were leaving. I had a great experience shopping here. I came into the store knowing that handbags are 25% off mainland prices and small leather goods are 20% off. The discount along with 4% tax makes purchasing a handbag here a steal! Upon entering the store, I was greeted by Jennifer and was told about the special Hawaii pricing. I pretty much knew which bags I was interested in and went to try them on. Jennifer offered to take out any bag that I liked so I could try it on. Gucci has seen a recent renovation under the direction of Frida Giannini. She has reworked items from the archives to make them work today. This Gucci boutique is quite a nice size. Bags, clothing (men's and women's) and shoes had me salivating. Sunglasses, jewelery and luggage. Divine! Was having dinner later in the week, so I thought I'd treat myself to a new suit. I own a few Gucci suits, and have been happy with them over time, even though they aren't my "go to" brand for suits. That might change after the experience I had here. The boutique itself is quite large and carries a variety of items. However, I was only concerned with suits and a new pair of shades to match. Staff was WONDERFUL, they had no problem finding exactly the suit I wanted, and it my size. They were efficient without being clingy, knowledgeable without being condescending, and friendly without being fake. I said I'm not sure because nothing has caught my eye here. He then informed me that i can look at the website and he will try to look in the back if they had my item in stock. I saw a cute purse but this location did not have my color. So he made a few calls and was able to have Honolulu ship it over to Wailea location. However the day it arrived i was scheduled to fly home to USA. The salesperson was able to ship my item to USA. Only downside is I have to pay USA tax. If only I stayed another day LOL!
