Very disappointing product and service. I bought three pairs of sunglasses for a pretty large sum of money. One pair lost the lens screw so I took it back for repair. The salesperson fixed them with another screw. That fell out a week later which then chipped the lens. So I returned to the store and asked to exchange for a new pair of the same glasses. They wouldn't do that. So they now needed to order a new screw and that was a two week wait. I returned to the store after three weeks and there was no record of the salesperson ordering the new screw thus no screw. So I had them re-order again. The salesperson said they would notify me when the screw was in. I went back after three weeks wait/no call as promised by the salesperson and the same thing happened. Nothing. I voiced my displeasure and they said they would order the screw for me and would call me when the screw was ordered. No call. It's now three weeks since then. Nothing again. This is the poorest "service" I've ever received from any retailer. They have shown they do not care about their customers. I will never shop at the Sunglass Hut again and I warn any other potential shoppers to avoid the stores in Gilroy. read more

I normally do not write reviews, but I really need to for this place. The workers were friendly in helping me find sunglasses at first. It wasn't till I made the transaction when the problem occurred. I used Apple Pay to pay for a pair of sunglasses, and on my end it goes through. Then, the screen on their transaction screen goes blank right after. The workers try to figure it out. Then, the manager looked into it, and apparently the transaction on their end got cancelled, and on my Wells Fargo account it got charged, in which I show them. The fact that it was their fault that they can't fix their credit card machine and I have to deal with calling my bank to get a claim for a refund is so ridiculous. I was left not getting the pair of sunglasses and having to go through that unnecessary trouble all because they can't get their damn system fixed. I will never come back to this location. read more

On the way home from San Francisco, i decided to stop at the Gilroy outlets to search for a new pair of shades. The location was completed packed and hardly very little space to walk thru. I was immediately greeted by "Ashley" (Girl in picture) and asked if I was looking for any in particular. I advised her "Polarized" and possible metal frame. She walked me over to several pairs and allowed me to shop comfortably. I spotted the perfect glasses (Burberry) and knew I had to have them. After trying them on and falling in love, I asked her to hold them and needed my wife's opinion. I had to drag my wife out of Kate Spade, and get her thoughts. Ashley was waiting for me behind the counter and brought the glasses out. My wife also loved the glasses and it was final, they're MINE! The glasses were normally $259, marked down 30%, and also due to one tiny, tiny nick, another 25%. Total price -$135 plus tax,SCORE!! Ashley was great and I appreciate that she put the glasses on hold, and cleaned them thoroughly before I slapped them on. She also supplied me with the genuine "Burberry" case. I stopped in here with my boyfriend on our way up North after I accidentally broke my glasses. I noted that there was not as much selection as I had hoped. And even more disappointing was that after briefly speaking to me, 3/4 of the employees began ignoring me and started selling glasses to my boyfriend, who wasn't even there to purchase, initially. I've worked in sales and understand the importance of the sell and commissions, but I would never ignore another customer to fawn over another. On January 11, 2021, I purchased a pair of sunglasses as a birthday gift. Three days later a noticed a small defect on the arm of the glasses. I had worn them twice.. Since I was told that I could return them if I wasn't happy with them, I went back to the store where I purchased them on January 14th. The manager told me to repair them myself. When I stated I wasn't willing to self repair a brand new pair of glases he told me he could "damage them out" for half credit towards another pair. That was also not a reasonable solution. I strongly felt that the store manager was not concerned with my issue and was simply trying to dismiss me I then contacted the corporate office, which was a contract company. They gave me a link to file a complaint, which I promptly did. I received an email stating a response to my complaint would take up to five days. It has now been over a month and I have yet to hear back from anyone. The Sunglass Hut clearly has little to no regard for customer service. Their staff lacks etiquette and professionalism. Profit is obviously more important than good customer service. At this point I will go elsewhere to purchase an acceptable pair of sunglasses. I will never return to the Sunglass Hut and I will dissuade anyone from ever purchasing from any of their stores. read more

I know that there are two different Sunglass Hut locations at the Gilroy Outlets. The one that I am reviewing is the one located near the Jockey store in the area of the mall where Applebee's is located. We stopped by because my wife's sunglasses recently broke. We explained to the employee what we were looking for and he patiently assisted us as my wife tested every pair of sunglasses that he brought. After a while, my wife had the perfect pair. He mentioned a current promotion that along with a new style of Ray-Ban sunglasses that he thought would go well for my face. I tried them on and, sure enough, he was right! We purchased both! I was talked into a pair of sunglasses that were said to be polarized but they are not. They would not let me go outside to see them in the light for myself. I trusted them since they are the "professionals" . After wearing them for a few days I went to return them and they denied me. Alyssa associate and Leslie the manger had horrible customer service. I was not offered an exchange and they would not refund me even tho it was within the 30 days. Neither were the gal who sold them to me, so technically it is not their fault for the lack of information but as a manger I would want my customers to come back time and time again to support my store so I would have thought Leslie would have done better at making things right. I love Sunglass hut however, I visited this location yesterday and I was appalled by the salesperson's attitude. They were having buy one get one deal for selected styles which brought in alot of people and I believe she's there by herself. Anyway, I was the glass cases looking and she got in front of me, literally in front of me and started fixing the sunglasses the other people had looked at. No excuse me no nothing! I don't know if I'm invisible that day but in my book you better get your stuff together lady... I was feeling a little nice that day so i just stepped back looked at a different glass case and I heard her mumble under her breath and grunts as she walked towards the elderly asian couple who have been waiting there for her help. I try to be understanding that perhaps she's overwhelmed with the traffic of customers but this is her job and there's no excuse for acting that way towards a customer. She needs to suck it up or don't work. I had a sunglasses in my hand and was ready for purchase but I left it because I was disgusted by this lady. i have never encountered anyone this rude ever in my entire shopping life. And I didn't even get her name to give her props :[ We rolled through this store on a non-busy day and was just offered the best customer service I've ever experienced in a long time. She was definitely pleasant and was open to answering the ga-zillion questions we had. We swear like we were at a car lot trying to come home with a new car or something. In all probability, it might be a harmless mistake maybe - but they suck big time. They carry single pieces of the glasses they carry, and obviously those are scratched. Now why would I buy those? Finally I did make a purchase as a gift for someone, and the store person happily said it'll be shipped free in 2 days. It's been almost 7 day and today they say we misspelled the email ID! I went here over the weekend and Grant Hughes., the store manager was an amazing help. My Oakley Spike nose rests had popped in my car over the summer heat and I was at the Gilroy outlets and decided to see if they would have replacement nose pads, after looking for a bit, Grant finally found something that fit and took the time to clean my glasses, remove the old nose pads, install the new pads and tighten the screws on the sunglass. Did I mention the he was the only employee at the time in the store and he was helping other clients as well? He was upbeat and courteous.
