They also do special vendors every once in a while like handmade soaps, or flowers. I really dig this market because it's right in the park, which makes for a nice setting, and it tends to feel more family-oriented and casual. There's often live music, games, or tables set up with recipes or information to learn about the produce selling that day.

One thing to know about me is I love plants; all kinds of plants. Perennials, annuals and…read morehouseplants. I have an almost impossible amount of house plants and yet when I am in a store that has a garden center, I have to look and yes, I almost always end up getting a new friend. I have gone to many of the nurseries around the area and traveled out of my way for something new that I can't live without. Dramatic? Sure. Do I care? No. Am I exaggerating? Nope. So, imagine my heartbreak when one of my favorite little plant nooks had at least a dozen plants that were if not already dead, would be shortly. The worst part of this is because they haven't been watered! What used to be a beautiful hanging scindapsus has been reduced to a shriveled shadow of its former self. I found a Micans shoved on a low shelf in the same shriveled condition. I offered to buy it at a lower price but the woman didn't have the authority to adjust the price. I could go on and on. This is usually a great little shop and I have bought several plants there. I would much rather support a small business than a big box but come on, you have to do better especially when you are paying a premium. I will add pictures asap.

Hello, lovely!

They had a corn maze, pumpkins, apple orchards, and a variety of animals! I didn't do the corn maze but I enjoyed seeing the goats, pig, chickens, turkey, and even a yak. I was initially disappointed that all the apples were gone because the trees in the front were completely bare but once we got a bag and saw the map, I saw that the land was quite spacious with every variety of apple you could think of. The front rows had been picked clean but there were plenty to choose from in the back. They charged by the pound. For a few apples, we paid about $6. They had a ton of apple pies and some flavors I had never heard of before like apple caramel walnut. Had such a good time.

Parking was plentiful across the road, and a tractor ride is required to get up to the apple trees, which was fun for kids. They only had two types of apples available (McIntosh and Gala), along with the last of their peaches. The apples closest to the drop-off point didn't look great, but the trees further up the slope had much better-looking fruit, likely because the slope deterred pickers. The store was stocked with fresh baked goods and, of course, apple cider donuts. There's also an animal farm on-site, which costs extra for big kids and adults (I believe it's free for kids under three). Overall, it was an okay experience. The limited apple selection and condition of some of the trees were a bit disappointing, but the tractor ride and fresh baked goods added some charm. I'd recommend going later in the season for a better variety and quality of apples.

Despite them getting picked over the day prior, it was well worth the 25 minute drive and the hunt looking in the bushes. The farm store is stocked full of in house grown seasonal vegetables as well as called sourced meat, dairy, and a wide range of products. Plenty of parking and even tables outside to sit a bit and enjoy their beautiful grounds. Although they do sell baskets, nothing was the size and variety I had in mind. Lawren offered to make an exception and put something together for me herself, even though that's not a service they normally offer at this store. With my general instruction and price, she set about pulling together a large variety of food and snacks. She did an absolutely wonderful job, and even delivered it herself. (which they also don't normally do) My relatives loved the gift and said the food was great. Having it from a local business that sources from local vendors was the cherry on top. I cannot say enough about Lawren and her remarkable kindness, both in agreeing to take on this task and in the execution of the assignment. I would HIGHLY recommend Clover Nook and their manager, Lawren, to anyone. It is a lovely local business with great products and an employee who takes 'above and beyond' to a whole new level. I have so much gratitude for them during this difficult time.

Keep in mind that there is a "Jones Family Farm Pumpkinseed Hill" at 120 Beardsley Rd., and then the "Jones Valley Farm/Jones Winery" at 606 Walnut Tree Rd. My GPS accidentally took me to the Pumpkinseed Farm at first, but it wasn't a big deal because the winery is just a few minutes away. Once I was in the right place, a staff member greeted me and gave me the wine/food menu. They have a lot of different areas to sit, including a patio with tables/umbrellas (where they had live music playing), a pavilion with tables underneath, an upper patio that was covered by a pergola with leaves/vines on top, and an inside bar area with seating. The inside bar area has garage doors that were open, leading out to the upper patio. Even though it was a hot day, I sat under the pergola and it was surprisingly cool underneath! After sitting down, a staff member quickly came over and took my drink/food order. I tried a glass of the Sunshine White, which was delicious! It was on the sweeter side though. Keep in mind that they only sell wine by the glass on the menu, but they do have a store where you can buy bottles to go. I also ordered the Simply Cheese Plate, which came with sharp cheddar cheese, Jones Berry Chutney, and sea salt crackers. This was excellent! They also do have a "Light Fare" menu with things like a hummus plate, cheesecake, popcorn, etc. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. They had a "Bouquet Bar" set up where you could buy fresh cut flowers, as well as a small gift shop. Overall a very cool winery in Shelton, I would definitely recommend!
