While you may not pick your own peaches in August, the family who runs this farm and orchard allow you to have your pick of white- and yellow-fleshed peaches from the bushels in their shop, sold by weight. These are the sweetest and juiciest peaches in town! Very friendly in the shop. Their apple cider donuts are fresh and delicious! Apple picking in early autumn is a delight. There is an impressive variety of apples and a plethora from which to pick. Hint: plan your apple picking adventures ahead of time by eyeballing their website for each variety's prime time so you'll be able to pick tons of your favorites! I could wander in the orchard for hours. It's $20.00 to fill a bag and the bags aren't super huge. But if you want to pick the apples, you've got to pay the $20.00 for a plastic bag that's smaller than what you used to get at the supermarket before Connecticut went green. (I get creative with how I pack the apples into that bag. It's kind of like playing Jenga.) Be warned no large handbags, diaper bags, or backpacks are allowed in the orchard, so you'll want to make sure you lock them in your car before purchasing a bag to fill. The peaches I bought today are lovely and I can't wait to return for apple picking and stocking up on cider donuts!

Initially the farm's main crop was strawberries, and thus the farm was named Strawberry Hollow Farm for their main crop and for the hollow that it sits in. Harvey's government work as a research wildlife biologist took him out of the country and away from his farm in June, the most important month for strawberries. By 1981, Harvey transitioned from growing strawberries to growing members of the pumpkin family, because the growing schedule for pumpkins matched his work schedule. When he retired in 2001, Harvey realized his dream to farm his land full time. In addition to farming crops, Strawberry Hollow Farm also has a small gift shop where they sell various crafts. My family and I recently visited Strawberry Hollow Farm for the first time. There are so many different varieties of pumpkins and other various gourds on display, and their mums were just breathtaking. My wife and I dressed our son like Linus from "Peanuts". There were several spots on the farm for us to stage a "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" photo shoot. In addition to jack-o-lantern pumpkins and sugar pumpkins, Harvey cultivates giant pumpkins that can weigh up to 300 pounds (the kind that you see at a County Fair). The craft shop was really cool too; lots of Autumn and Halloween decorations. In the winter months, everything is themed around Christmas decorations. We purchased a couple of sugar pumpkins to take with us. We enjoyed our time at Strawberry Hollow Farm and we plan on returning in the future.

They post what apples are ready to pick on their Facebook updates. This weekend Mutsu apples are ready! They also sell beautiful mums in different sizes as well as pumpkins. I got 2 mini pumpkins for my classroom. My husband got a warm apple fritter. He loved it and said it was perfectly chewy, appley and cinnamony. They also sell cider and cider donuts. When in use, you can also watch cider being pressed. We were excited for all the games they have too. They have corn hole, jenga, and an apple slingshot!! Service was quick and friendly. We love it's a family atmosphere run by family. We were greeted so warmly by Mr Macci. 5 stars!

But those leaving bad reviews because someone exercised their first amendment right; that's pretty repulsive. I know of an insurance salesman who has a giant Trump sign and is clearly a major Trump supporter. I will not buy my insurance from him, as is my right, but nor will I dox him or protest the fact that he is simply exercising his first amendment right. You can read my review of Bubba's Brunch food truck in my review section because the food was delicious. Hindinger Farm sells fresh vegetables, fruits, jams, and other items for children, and it has a beautiful backdrop. One side of the farm overlooks the other side of the farm and the other side of the farmi overlooks this beautiful backdrop of nature on the farm. Hindubger Farms puts on live shows, and you can go shopping. There is also a playground for the kids to play. The playground is fenced in with a picnic area so parents can enjoy their food without worrying about their children's safety. You can always check their website for events, shopping, and find out which food truck will be at the farm that day. The customer service was great, and I will definitely be back.

Of all the sites we visited, this was the stand out. The fruits and vegetables are incredible... literally picture-perfect and bursting with flavor. In addition, the stand has lots of homemade products like mango salsa, horseradish mustard, and the like. These specialty items are delicious! Oh, and don't forget to pick up some of their homemade preserves. My husband and I practically overdosed on peach preserves! There is a beautiful outdoor area where kids can play, which also makes the stand a nice destination for families. Last but not least, the staff that works here is so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them.

Finally, I just had to taste one of their July specials, their own blueberry pie à la mode. You had the choice of blueberry or vanilla ice cream, and I needed blueberry. It had whipped cream and blueberry compote on top also. I enjoyed every bit. It was incredible. The large wedge of their own blueberry pie was excellent. I loved the flaky crust and there was a lot more blueberry filling than a lot of other pies. I had also been eyeing another flavor on their board, and what I ate was so good that I went back up to the window for a kid size cup cold brew pb chip. The cold brew flavor was strong but balanced, and it's rare that so many flavors work together in ice cream without one getting lost. I was really impressed this was one of those rare cases where everything shined and wowed, and it really was as good a flavor as I wanted it to be. I did not go inside the farm market. I just ordered at their ice cream window and ate at one of the outdoor tables. There were several of them, as well as a few benches, and it was a nice environment. The girl at the window was super friendly and helpful too. I loved my first experience. I can't wait to go, and actually hope to for another of this month's specials! Highly recommend a visit.

I was told because I had no receipt, they couldn't give me a refund only a store credit, and since I wasn't part of the rewards program, I would have to shop for something and the money would be applied. At no time was there an apology or concern, since this could have made me ill. I was accused by Angus of giving him a hard time, since I pointed out the food was clearly their product and given the fact that the food was spoiled, the right thing to do was to give me my cash refund. A prepared date of a fish dish on February 25 was on the shelf for 5 days which I find concerning. I'm also appalled at the poor customer service.
