Sundial was the only place I called that did have a $40 estimate fee but that amount was applied to your balance should you choose them. Darrin was the plumber that Sundial sent to me. His professionalism, knowledge and how thorough him and his crew were on the estimate is what won my business. They were able to come out the next day and I not only had them fix the original problem but also had them replace my water heater. I'm very impressed by the work that Darrin, Joel, Jonathan and Nick did at my home. They left my yard as clean as possible and were very respectful of my flooring in my home by wearing shoe covers. We have always been pleased with SunDial as they have done work at our 4 properties. Today we had Gary come to take a look at one of our toilets which is not a high quality item. We have talked about replacing the 4 toilets in the house and Gary had answers to all of our questions. We went with his recommendation which was the type of toilet we were hoping for. He was willing to go and pick up the toilets and install them TODAY! What service! And he worked until after 6 PM to complete the job! Way to go Gary! While inspecting a commercial property in Atlanta I noticed water pouring out of a hole in the parking lot. Jan 2018. We contacted the seller's broker as we wanted this inspected and repaired before purchase. They hired Sundial Plumbing and the repair was so bad it failed not 6 months after I purchased the property making me spend THOUSANDS to fix it correctly. This is what my plumber had to say: The ditch was not properly back filled, as they used the previously removed and contaminated asphalt for backfill. The water line repair was completed with schedule 80 PVC (gray), however they left all the other schedule 40 PVC (white) which should have never been used in the first place. They also left the schedule 40 PVC fitting above ground and not protected from weather or traffic. We removed all the bad thin wall schedule 40 pressure PVC from the sub-meter to horizontal connection and replaced it with copper piping. I doubt they pulled a permit or had it inspected because it NEVER would have passed. read more

I got a leak in my grey poly plumbing under my concrete slab. Some of my plumbing is under the concrete and some runs thru the attic. Sundial gave me an estimate of $2400 to reroute the part that is under the concrete, and said that would restore water to the whole house. They cancelled one appointment. They were a no-show for the 2nd appointment, even though I called that morning to confirm. They arrived today and said the work cannot be done in the way that was originally estimated. They are going to have to tear up a lot more of my house, significantly increasing the price. So I decided to just to tear up the concrete and repair the pipe instead. They wanted $3700 for that, so more than the original estimate to reroute. I am now getting the repair job under the concrete from another plumber for $1600, but they can't come until Monday, so that is 3 more days with no water. read more

I tried out this plumbing service for the first time for a small job I had. A bath tub faucet broke and could not be turned off. I had to turn the water off in my house until I could get this fixed. I called Sundial and their office was friendly and able to schedule me the same day, but I opted to wait until the next day, a Saturday. They gave me a window of four hours, from 8:00 to Noon. On Saturday, I got a call a little after 8:00 telling me someone would be there in the next 30 to 45 minutes. The plumber came right about in that timeframe. It was nice to have them come at the beginning of their four hour window rather than at the end. The job was pretty straightforward and he gave me a quote of $125 before doing the work. I signed the quote and he finished pretty quick. He also had some suggestions for a few other things in my bathroom. The worker was professional and friendly. I got really good service from this firm and would recommend them for anyone else needing plumbing work. read more

I can't express enough how pleased I am with Sundial Plumbing. Melissa was incredibly friendly and personable and beyond helpful with scheduling a good time for their Service to come out to my house. They are very easy to get in touch with always answer the phone and call you back very quickly. Chris serviced our house initially for an incredibly clogged kitchen sink (old house, unusual piping underneath) and he was super fast, incredibly efficient and his customer service is impeccable. He noticed that our faucet hose wasn't working properly and leaking along with one or two other things that I already knew needed fixing but he was very insistent on getting these things taken care of for me. He showed genuine care for these things to get properly taken care of. He was back in no time within a day or two to replace our faucet in addition to fixing another problem, (that I don't know much about, haha, but I trusted his knowledge and expertise. The service was fine but way over priced. I had one job completed for nearly $600 (took less than one hour for one plumber) and he quoted me over $1200 for a second job. I chose to get a second quote on the other job and had it completed by another plumbing company for $740 with great satisfaction. Sundial Plumbing,...the so-called professionals installed a sewage ejector in our basement when the current ejector burned out. Sundial Plumbing technicians told us our old ejector was too small and we needed a larger unit (and of course more expensive ejector) to meet our demands. $843.00 later our new ejector was installed. It had to be replaced within a year's time, so they did the right thing and replaced the unit under warranty. The next time we had a problem with the unit the general manager told us where we could buy one when it burns out again because he does not want the headache of providing customer service/warranty. Approximately 9 months has passed and guess what the unit has burned out yet again. Even though the PROFESSIONALS recommended it to meet our demands! I began researching the product which is a Zoeller auto effeciency M53 1/3 hp ejector pump and have found them for $135.00-$180.00. The installation took the technician less than 2 hours and they charged $843.00 total!!!!! So they made approximately $700.00 for 2 hours work!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!! That's $350.00/hour. Most lawyers don't even cost that. Anyway...long rant short. DON'T USE SUNDIAL PLUMBING!!!!! Because when you call them on their warranty and customer service commitment/promise they will tell you to do it yourself! read more

I found this company listed in Home Reports as a top rated plumbing company so I called them to fix or replace the water shut off valve that hooks up my refrigerator ice maker. They worked me in the same day I called and I thought great I can get this fixed today. WRONG ... the repairman took a picture of my shutoff valve and said he would email me an estimate. I asked if he couldn't just give me the estimate now and if the price was satisfactory just go ahead a fix or replace the valve. He told me he didn't have the parts to fix my shutoff valve. REALLY ... I'm not a certified plumber but I've done enough to know that it was most likely a worn valve seat or bad washer and at worst the valve would need to be replaced but HE DIDN'T HAVE THESE COMMON PARTS! And now the best part. Two days later I get the email estimate ... $525.00 to replace a refrigerator shut off valve. Are you kidding me? These people are criminals or they think the public is just plain stupid. In either case ... steer clear of this company ... it sucks! read more

My experience with Sundial is different than some I've read online. I used them on the recommendation of the previous owner of my home as they were the only ones in the area willing to service my nearly new tankless water heater that had gone bad (faulty equipment, not their fault). They were extremely understanding and courteous in dealing with my plight; dare I say they were more helpful than the manufacturer of the equipment! They worked with the manufacturer to find me a replacement unit in stock in the area and to get it installed as quickly as possible. To top it off, I mentioned when I called (partially to guilt some speedy service I'll admit :D ) that I have a newborn at home and the technician showed up with a card signed by the whole Sundial team congratulating my wife and I on our new child and commiserating with us on our relatively new equipment failing us. It was very touching as we were having a trying week. Rick, our plumbing tech, was very polite and pleasurable to work with and took the time to answer all of my questions and provide some helpful, tangential advice to my questions on some areas to be more efficient in my home water usage. I will definitely be using them again for my routine maintenance needs as well as for emergencies. read more

He wasn't able to complete the repair that day because I had another contractor working that needed water (by the way my repair wasn't urgent). He came back the following day and made the repair. I've had a couple service calls with these guys.... so far, all repairs were performed to satisfaction. However, they're super over-priced. The last job I called in for... it wasn't urgent, so I really just wanted a quote. Quote was outrageous.... had another plumber complete the work for less than half the price. Plus the guy wanted to do unnecessary work, which is what I believe made the quote so high. Unfortunately, I won't be using them anymore.... they're just too expensive. I had a toilet replaced & they charged over $700 for the new toilet & installation. I researched toilets after I agreed to the work & they're pretty inexpensive. Also, I dislike dispatch services when a different plumber comes out to you each time work is needed. I like to build a repoire with my service ppl.... can't do that when there's someone new each time repairs are needed.... and of course the dispatch service probably splits the fee with the person doing the work. Reasonable / affordable prices along with great service keeps customers over the long haul everytime! read more

When we had a leak pop up on a Sunday, Sundial agreed to send out a tech. He diagnosed our leak as coming from our bathtub (cost to fix: $3600). But we quit using that bathtub and the leak grew so we called again. The same plumber came out and again insisted it was the bathtub. My wife had to insist he cut through the drywall to look. Sure enough water was spitting out of the cold water line to the upstairs sink. He tried to repair by soldering, but as he was packing up to leave we noticed it was still leaking. So he replaced the pipe, and responded to my concern about high water pressure by recommending we replace our water heater. We declined; he seemed disappointed to leave with only a $500+ bill. We were left with a chewed up ceiling (he started cutting under the tub and had to keep cutting) and solder embedded in our carpet. Disappointing... read more

RIPOFF. I called Sundial out today to give an estimate on tying in a hot and cold water line and drain for a sink I am installing in my basement. I used to be a contractor and estimate it's abou 2 hours work max and maybe $25 worth of materials. Estimate was $775!!!!! Charged an arm and a leg to install a kitchen faucet that I provided. Then the technician left without ensuring that the faucet was working correctly. Original technician blamed it on the brand new faucet, when in reality it wasn't the faucet at all. It was a bad install job. Had to call and complain just to have them send a senior technician to install it the way it should have been on their first visit. read more

Terrible experience. We had to fix a small part on a hot water heater that was still under warranty. They say they are a mid priced plumber... the "diagnostic" (which was already diagnosed by our builder's plumber) cost $330. Then they had to come out and fix it (which took several weeks because supposedly the company kept sending them the wrong thing), and then, when he finally came, he popped the part in in less than 5 minutes. They charged us ANOTHER $350. We paid it but complained to the owner, who sent us a long song and dance about how they are mid range priced and they have 5 people working on every call, and they have special expertise in addition to being drug free etc. All I can say is, my lawyer, who has more people working for him and a lot more "training" is a fraction of the cost of this ridiculous place. First of all, all plumbing jobs are overpriced. However, Sundial repaired a leak from a faulty builder part last spring and charged my $638.00 total. Expensive??? How am I to know if that is within the norms? But, since they hole was dug and they were there I wrote the check and it was "fixed". Fast forward 14 months, same problem. Called them back and since it was past 1 year, the work was out of warranty. They came back out, charged us $465 to dig a hole and run some tests. They found no leak, even though it was obvious that there water consistently on my walkway, rain or shine, 24/7. He left, so I thought great, its handled. Forty-five minutes after he leaves, it starts leaking. I call them back to send someone to fix the leak. He comes, says he doesn't have the part and can come back tomorrow and fix it for $429????? Seriously, where do these prices come from?? They have iPads with random jobs listed on them with set prices. Where do these prices come from? The part that has failed is PLASTIC@!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I'm doing this myself since I already have a $500 hole in my flower bed thanks to these crooks. I will give them one star only because their technicians were so polite, otherwise they would get a 0/5. read more
