Just wow!!!! Out of town and this place was a close walk so gave it a try. Man knock your socks off good. Like 15/10 lick the bowl good. Sat at the bar bartender was attentive and funny and just amazing service. What a great place. Told my friends about it that are coming to town for a show there going to stop in too. So should you

Sundance Grill is in my regular brunch spot rotation because it usually hits the SPOT. They have all the brunch classics like breakfast tacos, waffles or simple eggs and toast. Coffee was served hot and blended sour and bitter tastes for me. The food is never bad but it's also not out of this world.... like I said it just hits the spot and I guess scratches the brunch itch. The real star of the show here is the drink menu! They have Bloody Mary's with the works and margaritas that are mixed just right. If you don't order one of those, then I recommend you try the Espresso Liqueur. The restaurant itself is clean and I think spacing between tables is also nice. Not sure why I always notice that. Service is always great too. My most recent visit was during a pub crawl and even tho my party was not participating in that event, the staff was still very nice and tried to be attentive to us. Parking is a bit of a night mare because of the down town location, so as long as you plan for that then there will be no surprises. I like to walk around after dining in because you are in the middle of everything when you dine at the down town Sundance Grill location. Overall a solid 4/5 stars!

Walked in around 1 pm on a Monday. Place was clean, Hostess was friendly and seated me right away. Took 5 minutes or so for the waitress. Ordered the bacon avocado omelet. Comes with potatoes or toast. Had potatoes and coffee. Came out timely. Had to ask for coffee and water refill. I like that you can pay via your phone and Q code. I would come back for another omelet

    Disappointment

We came in for a quick bite and beers to watch the game. Little did we know that we were going to have such an outrageous bill. Two of us had two beers and chips, salsa, and guac. All to which were pretty mids, at best. We added salt to the guac as it came out bland, would be surprised if it was made fresh and not out of a premade container. I would love for someone to tell me how this equated to a $60 bill on chips!!!! Makes sense why the place was so empty... would've saved a lot just going to make the same at home.

The place was absolutely packed around 6:15, by 7:30 it was almost empty. Nice bar area and kind of a rustic feel to the place. We had some cocktails, which were nicely poured and balanced with flavor and alcohol. We started with the Arizona Egg Rolls which were delightful. Not too greasy, full of flavor, and sitting on a bed of BBQ sauce and pico. We had corn chowder which really should be called potato soup with corn. The shrimp tacos were surprisingly tasty. Crunchy and the BBQ sauce have a good balance of flavor. Chris was our server, and despite essentially having two broken wrists, he delivered food, cleared plates and kept our water glasses filled. We did have to wait a while for our food; but we weren't in a hurry so it really wasn't that big of a deal. If you're in the area, it's a nice place to grab a drink and some appetizers.

It had been a couple years since I went to Sundance so when my friend mentioned she wanted to go because she had never been before I was in! I didn't even know they had dinner to be honest. I always thought it was just a breakfast place. We came at 630 on a Thursday evening and it was totally dead. Only like one other group and another group or 2 filtered in while we were there. The waitress was super nice and attentive! We split the Arizona egg rolls which were pretty good. They were served on top of a bbq sauce pico mix and that was really good. I enjoyed it. For my meal I had the cilantro cream enchiladas. They were fine. Nothing special and I'm almost sure the rice was just an uncle Ben's pack (which is fine, I like uncle Ben's) but I think I just expected a little fresher tasting rice at a restaurant. Our entrees came out before our app which was kind of a bummer but there was an error on their end that our server fixed. I probably wouldn't come back here for a lunch or dinner meal but I still think they have great breakfast.

The dirty martini was okay but I will definitely order something else next time as the olives just didn't hit for me. Our server greeted us immediately and filled our glasses with water. She was nice and answered all of our questions. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with my brunch choices which were the soup of the day, a lentil curry, pumpkin seed combo with tons of good seasoning and cilantro on top...it was soooo good and vegan friendly! For my entree I got the tofu sandwich with the most amazing side salad that had this lemon dressing that set it off right! I could have just had a plate of the salad! Although the tofu sandwich was good, it was a bit on the salty side for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place for vegan options and I'd come back. It was a 45 minute wait today but my friend and I found seats at the bar and got coffee while we waited and we were able to order our food shortly after. Since they were pretty slammed, our food took some time to come out but it was worth the wait. I tried the Jamaican jerk chicken frittata that my friend recommended and the spread was beautiful and it was delicious. So when my family and I were walking around downtown Grand Rapids and needed a place to eat breakfast, we popped into Social Misfits because their menu is basically 90% waffles. My kids love waffles. Every kid loves waffles. Waffles it is! This is a great restaurant for families (because ... waffles), but also a great restaurant for adults because they have a nice selection of creative cocktails in the evening, and coffee in the morning. Social Misfits is basically waffles, alcohol and caffeine, in that order. When we visited in the morning, the adults opted for coffee (really great black coffee!) and the kids both opted for the Little Lad, a waffle topped with strawberries, blueberries and chantilly cream (basically whipped cream, but a little sweeter and whipped a little longer). Both of my children ate most of their waffle, which is a big thing, considering they usually eat like birds. We also got the Son of a Biscuit, which was a garlic parmesan waffle topped with chicken sausage gravy and a fried egg. You could add fried chicken to the mix for an extra $6 (we did not). This one was fine, but the egg was way overcooked! Oh well. Lastly: We got the Ol' Blue Eyes, a waffle topped with blueberry compote, lemon curd, whipped ricotta and graham cracker crumbs. This one tasted amazing, but there was so much blueberry compote and lemon curd that it made the waffle a bit soggy. I think the chef was feeling generous with the toppings, but homie needed to hold back a tad. Sometimes, a little bit goes a long way! Fifty percent less gloppy stuff would have made this waffle dish 100% better. If you ain't really about that waffle life, then not to worry. Social Misfits also has a few "not waffles" items on the menu, like salads, sandwiches and a couple of bar snacks. But I think if you visit this restaurant, you need to just embrace waffles. There are more than a dozen different waffles on the menu. They're all fun and well-thought-out. Pick one and eat waffles for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I looked over their menu and found lots of good breakfast taco options, the breakfast burrito I have heard is great, but what really caught my attention was the biscuits and gravy. I was feeling quite ravenous this morning and got the full order for $11 and a side of bacon. They had a table close to the entrance with extra menus, clean cups, water jugs, hot sauces, silverware and napkins. Seemed like a help-yourself vibe which I grabbed everything we would need for our meal. Our food was brought to us rather quickly and my bf ordered the breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs and sausage. He told me it tasted so good and he loved that he could make his own tacos with his food. He let me try one of the hashbrown rounds and it was perfectly crispy! My biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. The biscuits were so fresh and the gravy had a really nice and comforting flavor to it. You could get chorizo and mushrooms in your gravy but i went with a traditional sausage for my protein. My bacon on the side came in a tiny dish but I ate all four pieces haha. Once we finished, there were some bus bins under the same table with the silverware, we placed all our dirty dishes there and cleaned up after ourselves before leaving. I honestly felt so content leaving there and can't wait to return. I really appreciate the ambiance in there with the beautiful plant life, the lights on the ceiling, and cool decor in general. The staff was also SO NICE! Wins everywhere. I also noticed people coming in for takeout which is good to know in case I don't feel like dining in some morning.
