I bought a traverse from Sundance on January 16th of 2026 and at the closing, I was sent to jay meyers to go over warranty options. I explained to Jay that I had never had good luck with extended warranty's and I wasn't interested. He told me there was no hidden clauses and this was literally bumper to bumper as long as it wasn't normal wear parts like light bulbs, battery, or brake pads. I paid the $2800.00 and 4 months later I have an exhaust issue that was a $400 fix and we were told it's not under the warranty because they consider the exhaust system "normal wear". Should've known better than to trust him and hopefully nobody else will sit down across the table from him and trust a word he says after reading this. In the photo is the part they changed and as you can see, they had to cut the part off. Crazy that something that is "normal wear" has to be removed with a saw. Bought, what I thought was a sweetheart of a deal. A 2015 Ford Escape with only 48,000 miles on. Long story short. Drove it for 6 weeks. Had a right read tire issue. Brought it in to have it looked at. Found out that the tires on it were the original tires. They wouldn't even service the tire because the tread was so shitty. You hope you buy a vehicle from a sales person you can trust. My trust was misplaced. As the guy that helped me came highly recommend from my dad. Never again. $1000 later and 4 new tires. Don't buy a used car from Sundance. First there was a squeaky noise that the sales person said if it continues, bring it back. Turns out there was rust on the rotor which needed to be replaced and when we took it back less than a month later, service said it was a known issue when they inspected the car but that it should wear off and be ok. Squeaking got worse, so took it back and this time they said the rotor and break pad needed replaced...at our expense. Then we noticed the rear differential was leaking and of course they will not cover it. So don't trust their so call vehicle inspection, don't trust their sales team when they say, if there's an issue, just bring it back, honestly, don't trust any used vehicle from Sundance. I had to get a car fast against my best judgment i went to sundance on jan 10 25 i bought a 2019 equinox decent price great carfax figured it was from a person that likes to keep getting new cars. Test drive was good no noises nothing. 2 weeks go by transmission has a rummble at hyway speeds and slipped on me once. Took it to a very reputable transmission shop couldnt find anything wrong so i had them do a fluid change all is good. Week later i feel jerking under light acceleration was going to get it looked at but not to concered its only got 70,000 miles on it. Put it in awd cause it was a little nasty out got to about 35mph and heard nasty grinding vibration thought the transmission was going to fall off. Take it in and was told the tcase, he didnt call it that but its essentially what it is something is broken in it. Contact my salesman he asked if i got the warrenty of course i didnt cause it is only 6 years old with 70,000 miles on it. He said well we have a 30 day 3,000 mile 15% off parts and labor. What this is the first dealership that i have heard that doesn't have a full warranty for at least 30 days. Its my fault i should have gotten the warranty and gotten it inspected but at least have a good warranty so your not screwing your customers. I bought a used vehicle at Sundance and planned to have them service it. They serviced it a couple of times and did okay. The price seemed high, but I didn't question it. I needed intake and exhaust solenoid replacement and asked for a quote. I was quoted almost $800 for both solenoids and to install them. That seemed like a lot so I investigated. I found the parts for $25 wholesale and $50 at Auto Zone. Next, I looked on YouTube to see what replacement would take. It takes 4 minutes to pop off the engine cover. Next, you un lip the wiring harness from the solenoid with a small tool like a pick. Then, you use a 10mm wrench to remove the solenoid and turn the new one in. You clip the wiring harness back on and that's one done. Repeat for the next and replace the cover. Any mechanic worth their salt can replace both solenoids in a half hour. They are easy to get to. It's four quick operations. I called to ask why the quote was so high. At first Zack even admitted the quote was a bit high. He told me he was charging $300 for party and 2.5 hours at $145 an hour. When I asked why it was so much when it was such an easy operation he said "Unfortunately there was nothing he could do." This is robbery in broad daylight. It's one thing to pay what something is worth. It's another to completely misrepresent the time it takes to do the work. Due to these fraudulent business practices, I will not shop with Terry Hanks and Sundance Chevorlet for a vehicle in the future. read more

I drove from Grand Rapids, MI to Grand Ledge, MI (where Sundance Chevrolet is located) to look at a 2012 Fiat 500 listed in Autotrader as a "new listing" and their automated receptionist said was "still available". When I got to Sundance, a salesman (name withheld but available), said "he had just driven the vehicle, and he knew that it was at their other lot. I followed him to their main sales lot, and after looking around couldn't find the car I drove over 50 miles to look at. Then, the salesman said, "that car was sold a week ago" ?!?. I've emailed Sundance two or three times, with no response. I am not sure if this was the 'ol bait and switch scam, or the sales people are just plan incompetent. Before driving all that way to Sundance I was warned about going there, but gave them the benefit of a doubt and went anywas. After that experience, I can't recommend this dealership to anyone. Went to Sundance in need of a new car, let them know I wanted something reliable for long range driving and my sales rep worked with me excellently on finding a car that worked. After signing onto the car, I was informed the dealership would be putting me on a rental car temporarily as my car required service on the bearings. I was told it would likely be 1-2 days, but it wasn't until 3 days later that I was called to be informed it was ready to come pick up. After picking the car up, I took it for a drive and had various alerts including traction control, stabilitrak and abs all turn on and was temporarily unable to activate cruise control the brakes and rotors were horrible and the dealership had claimed they did an alignment but that was very clearly NOT the case. Took it back to the dealership, and was given a second rental car and was told they would likely have my car back in a service bay that night. In reality my car didn't get back into service until around 4 pm the next day. After going to pick the car back up a second time, we found they still hadn't done anything about the brakes or rotors leaving them potentially unsafe to drive within a few weeks. Signed onto the car almost a week ago now, only took actual possession of it yesterday, and still having issues...would absolutely rate lower if I could. What's great is, after I had originally posted this review I had received a call during which they said unless I took my review down they wouldn't provide continued service, according to the sales manager. Kinda illegal! Ive had an aweful experience with these people. the vehicle I purchased was online the salesman only sent me pictures of the nice area of the car. did not send me pictures of where the vehicle needed a lot of cosmetic work otherwise I would not have bought the vehicle. 2nd. when the car was delivered the air conditioning was not working, power steering was hard and going out, the check engine light immediately came on, and the rear was squeeking really bad. when I contacted them it took several days for them to get back to me and now the car has been in the shop almost 2 weeks. the first payment is due next week and I have driven it one time. Bought my fourth vehicle from there a couple weeks ago. I didn't want to, but that type of vehicle is hard to find lately and I needed it. Wait for it to go through service before I took it home. I was going to pay them to put in remote start, but after two attempts I told them to never mind. I took delivery of the vehicle. The brakes are shot. They didn't put the dash back together after failing to put the remote start in. They could only come up with one key. They couldn't tell me what they did to turn the check engine light off. Took it in because the A/C would blow. Found a squirrel nest in the hvac system. Also needed a $900 compressor. Sales guy won't respond. I even offered to pay for a key. No response. How ever when I went in to pickup truck and do paperwork is when it started. When you have to meet with the financial manager one would think you are going to sign loan papers, not here you meet ruddiest nasty man ever and he try's to pressures out into all the extended warranties and when you say no thank you he slams the paperwork over and makes you write it out that you don't want it and the he fills out the other side of the form as it was intended. On top of him being rude to the poor pie delivery lady, he knows what I am talking about. Then I email the manager about my experience and have never got a response. I went in to purchase a new vehicle and had questions about the models. The dealers were all over in the building, but not a single person wanted to talk to us. The parking situation is also horrible. There is no good designated spot to park, so we had to park across the street. When we cam back to my car the individual who was parking all the courtesy vehicles decided to park the car so close to mine that I had to move my car just to be able to get the rest of the people in my vehicle to leave. Wish I had better news to share, but... After picking up the 2018 Titan, a check engine light came on 2 days after delivery.  Looks like an emissions code (P0448).  Also when trying to set up the satellite radio, it just reads "check antenna", which means there is a problem there.  While this is disappointing, it appears the truck was really not gone over.  The brakes that I asked to be checked weren't, and there was a big mouse nest in the engine bay, and the air and cabin filters were filthy.  The brake rotors are very rusted and pitted with 1/2" groves. No mechanic would OK this if they looked at them. If the truck was truly checked out before delivery, these things minus the check engine light, would have been caught.  I expected a lot better, and this is not a good start for an expensive truck.  I am hoping there is something Sundance can do to get this truck right. All I've gotten is that it was checked over and it must have passed. It appears to me that boxes were just checked and it was put on the lot. I've been pretty much told that the brakes would not be covered by them, but that I could get 15% off on parts. This is unacceptable! An apology for missing these items, fixing them, and showing some accountability would help remedy this situation. read more

My wife took her 2016 Equinox with 19,000 miles on it in a few weeks ago for an oil change. Before they had even taken her keys they tried to sell her $500 worth of work. After she had been sitting about 5 minutes a man came in and said she had a chip in her windshield (she didn't, I'm 99% sure). She wasn't sure either way and he assured her it wouldn't count as a claim on our auto policy. After the man approach every single other person in the waiting room, they came to tell her her cabin air filter was bad. As she was leaving she called to tell me what had happen and I told her she had been ripped off. I told her to get the old filter from the mechanic and he seemed very flustered that she was asking. He returned several minutes later with a filter that wasn't ever from her car. Overall this place is a toilet and I would avoid it at all costs. read more

This was my first time purchasing a vehicle from them as a relative had purchased three cars over the years and had good experience. I purchased a vehicle as a Birthday gift...in June. I requested a remote start and it was included in the purchase price,fine no problem. He delivered truck to me almost two weeks later and it looked good and I was happy...fast forward three weeks the installer had Covid and appointment was canceled. I txted/called 9 more times over a period of 6 months to get a install before snow. Several times I was told he was waiting for the installation staff to call him,I'll call them today and my favorite one was his txt saying "I promise " to get it this week. He started off very proficient but dropped and fumbled the ball after I signed the contract..my final decision was to call the manager and ask for a refund,left a message. Within the hour salesman txt says they'll cut me a check on Friday November 4th...not even a call or apologies for the inconvenience and frustration. I drove all summer melting when I got in until it started driving with air on. Fast forward to the first snow and I'm still waiting for check in the mail. Woke up too snow and had a attitude as I knew I'd have to go outside early in cold too warm up truck and melt ice. I called the manager and inquired about the check..he had me speak to salesman. He delivered check to my house that night. I called an set up an appointment for the install of the remote start...of course I have to wait two more weeks I'm totally unhappy about this. Would never recommend them or that salesman Daniel . After the purchase was finalized, I reviewed the paperwork and discovered that I actually paid $454 more than what I should have. I bought my son a car from here, it was nothing short of a nightmare. Within 30 minutes of leaving the dealership the car broke down. We drove right back to Sundance (barely able to accelerate) and told them what had happened. They said they would have it looked at. Two days later they said their mechanics can't troubleshoot the problem since it's a Mazda and it will need to go to a Mazda dealer for service. The soonest they could get it in would be two weeks, I told them this was not acceptable so they said I could take it to my mechanic, which I did. my mechanic said it was the transmission. I called and told the guy who sold us the car and he said we will need a second opinion. So then we waited the two weeks for the Mazda dealer to see it. Once it was at the Mazda dealer they let us know they updated the software but if it does it again it's the transmission. We drove it home and it began jerking and hesitating to accelerate. Back to Sundance we went and told them we do not want the car, we just want something reliable and this is not it. They took it for a test drive and said it drives great we are not letting you switch into another car. And here we are a month later with a car that can't even be driven. Management is useless, they didn't try to help or listen. Basically said sorry and washed their hands of us. read more

I only give one star because I can not give anything less. This is my warning to anyone thinking about coming here to buy a car! NEVER BUY A CAR FROM HERE! THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!! My mother, 18 year old sister, and I went looking for a car and ended up getting a Jeep Patriot. Before we left the lot we were told we could come back 1 week later to fix the problem with the seat belt we had to point out to the guy selling us the car(the seatbelt was wrapped around the back seat making one seat unusable and another uncomfortable to sit in). 4 days after driving it off the lot my mother and I went to the store and when we came out the Jeep would not start(we had to get it jumped to get it started) and then the next day the check engine light came on. At that time I didn't know that would only be the beginning on the nightmare that would become with this Jeep. When I took it back for the "appointment" I thought I had I was told the service department knew nothing of the seatbelt or the other complaints I had called and told a manager about. They did take it and look at it. After about 6-7 hours of waiting they told me about the issues I knew and a few I did not. They told me they would fix everything I had mentioned and what they found with no cost to me but I had to come back because they had none of the parts to fix anything! So I made another appointment and took the car back home. (Which is more than an hour drive one way!) before the appointment once again it wouldn't start and we had to get it jumped to get it started. We dropped it off the night before the appointment and the next day we got a call that it was done. I had to leave work early to get there before service department closed to get the Jeep. When we got there we found they did nothing to the battery (which we thought had been part of the problem. After all we did have to get it jumped to start the car twice! And each time we did call!) after complaining we were told that they would take care of it the next day then they would drop it off at my home. We told them not until after 1pm since no one would be home until after that time. We got a phone call the next day saying they could not drop it off the following day because they couldn't find another driver but it would be dropped of the next day. We agreed. We were expecting the car to arrive after 1pm but instead it was in my driveway unlocked with the key in the door when I came home at 12:30pm! This time it appeared everything was fixed. We had it home less than a week and then once again it would not start leaving my mother stranded at her job. I had to leave work and go to her to try to jump her. This time it did not work. We were about to have it towed to a trusted mechanic when we managed to get it started after more than an hour of trying to start it. We took it straight to our mechanic who was unable to experience it not starting but did notice an issue he believes to be with the transmission when we called the dealership again! we were told that we should take it to a different dealership our mechanic suggested to get a better inspection than he was able to do with the tools he had. And that they wouldn't pay for anything more and that is why we bought the extra insurance and we would have to pay the inspection fee, the deductible, and anything that wasn't covered! We have not even paid our first payment on it and now we are looking at paying a lot for repairs on a car we have had in the shop longer than we have been able to drive it. Update: we got most of the repairs taken care of and non were covered by the warranty. It has been about a month since the last time it had it in the shop. Even tho we are now able to safely drive the car without worry of it not starting I would not recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a car. read more

Where do I start.... my husband took his Chevy Cruze into Sundance for a knock sensor repair/ replacement. Had to take it back Several times before that was seemingly Fixed. Then when we were having issues we assumed it was either the knock sensor or the timing chain that needed replacing. Ended up being the timing chain. So week goes by, we pick up the car, and then that Sunday as we're heading home from the grocery store the car overheats and leaves us stranded in 90 degree heat. The mechanics did not put a hose clamp on the coolant causing it to Empty all over the engine. And not only that but they left a socket wrench in the engine!! and in response to our complaints to their negligence they gave us.... A free oil change. They didn't even replace the plumbing clamp we jerry rigged in it to get home! Or offer to reimburse us!! I will NEVER solicit their business again. How disgraceful!! read more

I lived in Lansing for a while, and moved to Denver 13 years ago. Buying a car here in Colorado is traumatic to say the least. I've come back to Sundance over the years and have purchased 4 trucks from Joe. It's the easiest thing I've ever done! I call Joe, tell him what I want, what options, color, trim package, etc. A few times he had what I wanted, a few times he had to find it. Either way, I got what I wanted every time. I show up (or my husband does) signs the paperwork and we are out the door and on the road in no time. It's tricky being out of state and doing title work across state lines, but with Sundance, we have never had an issue. I wish I knew the title clerk's name, I'd give them a shout out as well. read more
