I am extremely satisfied with the service that I received recently while purchasing a vehicle from Pauli Ford. It's a small hometown dealership with first class service. Everyone was polite from start to finish, I had a nice conversation with the dealerships owner. Cher my salesperson was a joy to work with during the process. They were waiting on me to arrive and Cher met me outside with the keys for the vehicle that I wanted so that I could take it for a test drive. I have purchased a lot of vehicles in my lifetime but I have never received service like I did on that day. I went to Pauli on 5/1/2013 to look at a 2005 Hummer H2. Frank started showing me the vehicle as I waited for Brian. Frank didn't like that I took some pictures. Brian and I took it for a ride. The first thing I noticed was the drivers floor was flooded with water. It leaked in from the rain. The speedometer was WAY off. 60 mph was like 35. I put it in 4 wheel drive and it clunked so loudly we thought the bottom fell out of it. Something was way wrong. We took it into their service garage. Then Frank showed up at my car telling me he had driven it and it was fine. So we went for a ride. He acted so surprised when he put it in 4 wheel drive and it sounded like the bottom fell out of it... Again! He didn't want to believe me before. And of course the speedometer being way off was an easy fix, and so is the major water leak. He told me he would make sure everything was fixed before I bought it. I can't believe he actually thought I would spend a penny on a vehicle they clearly had never even checked out. They want $25,000 for this Hummer H2. It is no wonder there was not a single sole in the parking lot besides me. Obviously the word is out that the Pauli family should not be selling cars. I had even told the son, Brian, that I was happy to have him take me on the first ride along because Frank was a large Jerk to me. I had no Idea he actually owned the dealership. DO NOT waste a second of your time looking for a car here because clearly, they do not put the customer first. And DO NOT buy that Hummer H2, it needs way to much work. They didn't have the exact car in stock with all of the options we were looking for. Kevin found the exact car we wanted and had it ready for us the next day. this review does not pertain to Kevin McCracken. Kevin is a great salesman who you can trust to sell you a good car. We have been buying from him for years and will continue to do so. my problem is with the service depart and Brett Pauli. A couple of years back, my son's car (who was in my name) broke down in Chicago. I retrieved the car. The car wouldn't start so I hauled the car back to Michigan and dropped it off to Pauli Ford to find out what the problem was. They called me the following day and told me that the engine head was cracked and it would cost about $3,000 to repair. I decided to trade the car into them rather than have the car fixed. I also spoke with Brett Pauli who gave me $4,000 for the car which was a 2003 Ford Focus SVT. The next day I came to clear some things out of the vehicle when I found out that no inspection had been done on the vehicle to determine the vehicle had indeed a cracked head. They indicated to me that when they started up the vehicle they could see some blue smoke/white coming out of the tailpipe and that was the entire process they used to "diagnose" a problem they had determined was $3,000 worth of repair. I spoke with Brett Pauli and he agreed that yes they should have sent it somewhere to have the heads checked and could still do it if I wished. I told him I did not want to do that at this point but I felt I should have been given additional money for the trade in. Mr. Pauli didn't want to give any more money even though I bought at least 6 vehicles over the years and that he they did absolutely no egitimate diagnosis on the vehicle. I believe they were trying to dupe me into trading in the SVT, which would have sold on the lot between $10-12,000. In the end, I felt I had little choice but to let the vehicle go at the price of $4,000 but it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Please be aware, Kevin McCracken will sell you a good vehicle at a good price, but after that if you feel you will be treated anything other than a number among thousands of other numbers, please think again and prepare yourself according. read more
