Came here last month ( Aug), a very hot day. Went to Sundae Del Coronado to grab an ice cream to cool down the heat , not my usual stop for my Ice cream but I happened to be nearby waiting for my wife who visited her friend, to check in here at Hotel Del. Inside is a very tiny space, bright and colorful but the staff had no smile at all while serving. I had a medium Triple ice cream and for medium it's already $13 , It's an okay ice cream here, but I had a better one in the area, like at Nado Gelato , just a short walk from this place.
This spot looked very inviting while I was walking over to the beach from my room. Long line but well worth it especially on a hot day according to my friend who said the lSea Salt Caramel was great.
After we grabbed dinner at Nobu, we walked around and this ice cream shop caught our eye. They had a lot of options! We decided on their ice cream and it was delicious! They also have popsicles that can be dipped with toppings on top. Service was fast and you pay at the front door of the entrance. It looked fairly clean too.
Stopped by to get gelato after walking around the Hotel Del Coronado on Sunday. A long line but we waited cause the kids were excited. Cute little shop with lots of options. The gelato was delicious no questions about it. Everyone enjoyed every spoon of it. Price is reasonable considering the location. Customer service was not friendly, a bit annoying I would say to deal with the employees. Other than that it's a great place to get a treat.
This is a cute gelato and ice cream shop by the beach near the Hotel Del in Coronado. It was more on the expensive side but we were staying at the hotel and looking for something to use our room credit on and this ended up being perfect because we could charge to the room. They had no problem splitting the small and putting the two scoops in separate cups which was nice for us since we wanted two different flavors that we didn't want to melt together The quality was good! Very delicious and a yummy treat that was perfect for a hot day out on the beach. I saw some really cute looking ice cream popsicles too that I would love to try next time I'm back. There was a small line but it went pretty fast and I enjoyed looking at all the decor like the cute ice cream cone light fixtures. There's also a big popsicle ice cream statue outside the shop you can take a selfie with. It's a small space but the beach beyond is vast and it's easy to stroll and eat at the same time. Overall a really fun stop! I love how much food and amenities in near the Hotel Del and this did not disappoint!
Super delicious gelato at the Del. A much better deal than getting dessert in one of their sitdown restaurants, and you can sit outside and eat it and enjoy the same view after. They don't allow tastes but you can get two flavors in a small. I got the apple pie and Belgian dark chocolate and both were delicious. The portions did not look that big but it was very filling, almost too much in a small. Highly recommended if you're hanging out at the Del - or an incentive to come spend the day here, even though parking is not cheap!

The girls behind the counter gave me a full rundown of why they love each flavor then offered to douse my mango chamoy with extra tajin and chamoy. Several people stopped me on the way to the beach to ask what I was eating and where I got it. Grab a treat and head to the beach for a sunset.
Best dessert at the Del in this cute little gelato shop. They have a lot of flavors and they sell gelato popsicles. I enjoyed their mint chip! They always have a long line but it goes fast. They'll let you sample only two gelatos. That helps the line move.
This place is always very busy, and only 2 people were working for the long line of people that were waiting. Gelato is fine, but nothing great. And they had no tastings available that day. I thought it was just that one day they were understaffed but based on the reviews, seems to be an actual problem. Understaffed place with average, overpriced gelato. I'd recommend stopping by only if you happen to be in Hotel Del and is a week day.

I ordered two flavors and got the birthday cake and Madagascar vanilla. The hubby ordered the cookies and Creme and Madagascar vanilla. I wish the prices were a little less but for the area it makes sense. The staff was nice. I wish there was seats inside but we stood in a shady spot and enjoyed our ice cream!
My chocolate chip ice cream was delicious. My friends and I came on a Saturday. They only had 2 employees working so the line was very long. We waited a good 30 mins to get ice cream. They need to have a full staff on a a Saturday so that the wait isn't that long. The 2 workers were also taking their time to serve. Overall the ice cream was delicious just the wait time was the downfall.

My husband went to pick up ice cream for us while our toddler was blissfully napping on the beach under the comfort of an umbrella and I was on watch duty. It was a hot San Diego summery day. The ice cream line was long, but my husband was smart enough to ask the workers to put the scooped ice cream into the freezer while he waited in the second equally slow line to pay. And then he trekked back to our little spot of heaven on the beach. Even though the ice cream was partially melted by the time it reached me, it was sweet and creamy. Not the best ice cream I've had, and per my husband the service was so so. But there really aren't many options for nearby ice cream to enjoy while at Coronado Beach, so this did the job. We enjoyed our sweet treat on the beach while our toddler was tuckered out.
We spent the afternoon strolling around Coronado and couldn't pass up a stop for gelato at The Del! I went with vanilla and raspberry, and my partner got coffee and Oreo. Every flavor was delicious, creamy, and the perfect sweet treat on a sunny day. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but you're also at one of the most iconic spots in San Diego. You're paying for the experience, the beautiful views, and the chance to enjoy your gelato while walking through the hotel and along the boardwalk. If you're visiting Coronado, I'd definitely recommend treating yourself. It's absolutely worth it and service was friendly. read more

I visited this shop today (Wednesday July 8th 2026) with my kids and left feeling extremely disappointed by the terrible service and lack of consistency. This place is very expensive, it cost me around $10 for 2 small scoops, totaling over $20 plus tax and tip for two cups. For those prices, you expect at least basic courtesy, but instead, we were met with an incredibly rude, targeted attitude. There were two servers working. One of them was wonderful and friendly, giving out normal, large scoops. Unfortunately, we were served by the other woman, she is an Asian server who is a bit chubby and wears glasses who had a terrible attitude from the start. As a fellow Asian, I was shocked by how she treated us. Not only did she give us noticeably smaller, stingier scoops compared to the other server, but when she finished, she didn't hand the cup to me kindly, she literally flicked the ice cream cup across the counter at me while making a mocking face. I didn't say anything in the moment because I was with my child and didn't want to ruin our day, but management seriously needs to address this hostile behavior. It is a shame because the other server was so sweet, but this specific employee completely ruined the experience. Absolutely overpriced for terrible service. read more

They don't give samples because it gets crowded and customers throw the spoons on the beach. It wasn't crowded and we could have thrown our spoon in the trash. read more

We have been here twice. Most recent visit has been the least pleasant. Their gelato pops are good but way too overpriced. The oreo gelato pop is the best and tastes really good dipped in chocolate with white chocolate drizzle. You are limited to 2 samples per person if you want to try out their gelato. The staff here is very unfriendly. They rush you to try the samples and order your items. I have to knock them down a star because of that. It's just dessert, you can take the time to make the customers feel welcomed.. read more

Love that they had a quick treat at the shops! The gelato is expected to be overpriced!! A small starts at $9, but you get two flavors, I got the coconut and cherry chocolate flavor. It was perfect for a nice sunny day out in SD. The line was about 10-15 minutes on a Saturday with only 3 workers. Def expect a wait and steep prices. But overall yummy! read more

Ice cream and service was great. But the prices are ridiculous. We didn't know the prices til we paid unfortunately. There wasn't anything on the menu. Good to try once but not worth the price. read more
Cute little gelato shop inside the Hotel Del. It was convenient and nice to have a cold treat after walking along the beach. Small selection of gelatos and a little pricey. I got the banana gelato to try something different. The popsicles were good but also a little pricey at $8 each. read more
Who's doesn't eat ice cream in the cold?! I forsure do and it was totally worth it. This ice cream shop is located inside the Hotel Del Coronado. It's perfect for grabbing a treat before or after spending time near the water. I tried the Smores gelato with milk chocolate drizzle in a cup- so good! And then topped it off with a scoop of mango sorbet because I like to tell myself the mango makes it a healthy dessert lol. The shop was very clean and service was good. It is a bit small and can get crowded but that's okay. Check this place out if you in the area! read more

So sad to see that Mootime Creamery isn't here anymore. What a staple it was. I decided I'd take a look at the options. I saw the ice cream in the case and knew it wouldn't be good. It looked like my attempt at ice cream at home. More like a smoothie being frozen consistency. Then they attempted to make it look pretty with toppings. The hazelnut chocolate looked crusty. Like it melted and then refroze. Not good. I was firm on not buying any from here and wasting my money. I'm glad I didn't cave to the pressure from my group. My aunt had two flavors, hard to remember which. But she said it wasn't very good even though to her it looked promising. My other aunt had a paleta - strawberry kiwi. She said it was icy and tasteless. I had a bite and it was sour and didn't taste like kiwi. The strawberry portion wasn't great either. A waste of money. It ended up being about +20$ for three people ordering. Crazy prices! Save your money please!! Don't cave into the heat and it being on the Hotel Del Coronado. Head down, a few blocks and eat at Gelato Paradiso. read more
Honestly, I'm going to be real and tell you not to bother coming here unless you're really desperate for a treat. It's got major tourist trap vibes. The gelato itself wasn't anything special. I felt like the texture was a bit off, maybe a little too icy. I've had plenty of better ice cream/gelato elsewhere. Maybe the ice pops would be better to try. It was also super overpriced, likely because it's a big vacation area. The employees were nice, but they definitely had to cycle through customers quickly, so there wasn't time to sample flavors before ordering. There wasn't anything actively bad about this place besides the prices, but I certainly wouldn't bother to come back next time. read more

The gelato flavors all looked good. The lemon pie was delicious. It had pieces of pie crust throughout the scoop. The coconut was also very good. I think they are great flavors, but lemon pie comes out on top. read more
Came here in the late afternoon for a treat. Many options between the popsicles and the gelato. My toddler and I both opted for a popsicle while the husband picked the tiramisu. It was quite pricey - 27 dollars but it's located on the resort so of course. read more

Delicious gelato. It's worth the line, but even better if you go during the off season. Historical and fun. Cookies and cream and lemon were both amazing. Store is clean and maintained. read more
