The one gelato place that my kids and I will continue to come back to in Coronado because it has the best flavors and they have nice service but I will say it is always crowded. When love is they both have sorbet and also they have cream gelatos. Some places do not allow you to try flavors, but this one they still allow it. There are a variety of sizes that you can see in my picture and the smallest is about $6.50. It is expensive but pretty standard for location. read more

Flavor options were good. Had decent selection of vegan options. In the heart of the strip of businesses along Orange Ave. Parking was tough around 5pm. Service was friendly. Ambiance was nice, nothing special mainly just looking out at the other shops around. Felt very small inside. Overall, there's a lot of other options in the area that are similar. I once read that if a gelato place has more than a few flavors, to walk away because the gelato won't be very good. I am so glad that I completely disregarded that because Gelato Paradiso has several flavors and something for everyone's flavor palette. I have yet to find a flavor that I don't like, but the plum is always a top favorite. The staff is always very nice and offers samples of several flavors so that you can make sure you'll like what you end up choosing. We walked in and the young man behind the counter said we could try samples of any flavors. You can pick up to four flavors per cup but we settled on blackberry chocolate chip and cherry. They have THREE cases of gelato and sorbet. Be sure to look at all the cases before choosing your flavors. I made the mistake of only looking at the two cases and by the time I got to the third case, I already chose my four flavors. So sad! The chocolate with strawberries sounded divine. So a small, you could get 3 flavors. And for one dollar more you could get a large which you can get 4 flavors. And this isn't your average place, they pack that cup FULL with your flavors. Amazing! So generous. The flavors don't taste artificial in any way. I had the mango, blackberry chip, espresso, and salted caramel. The espresso wasn't super strong but it was still yummy. All of them were so creamy. Not icy and not flavorless. I think my favorite would be the blackberry chip. It lowkey reminded me of the Talenti version! My dad would have loved this. My aunt let me try her pistachio and it tasted really good. The flavor was spot on, the color wasn't that horrible artificial green. It was a bit 'salty' but in the best way possible. I loved it! I'm definitely coming back to try other flavors. Maybe it will make me feel like I'm in Italy again. Hopefully the banana is a good one! They also have affogato, coffee drinks, etc!
