Another child had the teacher put one leg on his neck and the other leg on his back to prevent him from standing up while she chatted on the phone. When we spoke to the owner, she said those teachers were the best ones and that my friend's son, who is 16 months old) forgot the rules ( he was absent for 2 days because of fever). The owner/ manager kicked us out and told us that they are not the right day care for us especially that we threatened to call the police. We ended up calling the police and forwarded them an the screen shots my friend took from the video online streaming service they provide. The police investigated and the case is with child abuse detective and with the child services. I'm not sure if it is ok for me to post the pictures here or not. I will check and revisit this.

The director of the school, Becky Kidwell, is very sweet and accomidating. She often stops in the classrooms to get to know the chlidren and their families. The staff is very warm and is devoted to helping prepare the children for school. The curriculum has an academic focus and the children learn to write their names, bring items from home to share for each letter of the alphabet, enjoy singing with the music teacher once a week and benefit from a very nice outdoor playground and an inside gym room with equipment, parachuttes, balls, and scooters. The school does not do field trips, which differentiates it from the other local preschool at St. Luke's. Like all schools, some teachers in this school are favored over others, and the teacher responsible for the 5-year-old preschool class is one of the best teachers I've ever met. She is warm, keeps her kids in line, ensures they are ready for kindergarten, and truly cares about the welfare of the children. The school offers two-day, three-day, and 5-day programs and all of its classes are half day (9-11:30 or 12:30-3). The rates are very affordable. Registration for the following year opens to the public opens in February every year and some years, spots in the school fill up quickly-especially for the morning programs. On registration day, parents often line up at 6am. While the school was founded by and is housed at Stonybrook United Methodist Church, they do not teach religion in the classes and the preschool is a seperate entity from the church. The school hosts a Halloween Parade of Costumes, a Thanksgiving Feast, Valentine's Day and Christmas parties, which all classes participate in. My only complaint with the school is that it does not offer curb-side check in for children. This is a minor detail but, for me, it meant that I had to park my van and lug my 3-year-old and her 1-year-old twin sisters in and out of the crowded hallways with all the other parents for pick ups and drop offs-no easy feat. I was placed in an infant classroom with seven babies, all under one year old, and was actively feeding and changing diapers. My background check was still pending, and I was specifically told I could not be left alone with the children because it had not come back. Afterward, I checked my OCCRRA records and found that my background-check request wasn't posted successfully until August 11 at 12:51 PM. I am now asking the Ohio Department of Children and Youth to review whether I should have been working with children during those two days. To make matters worse, I was never paid for the two days I worked. I believe parents deserve transparency about how this facility handles staffing, background checks, and its employees. I'm sharing my firsthand experience so parents can ask questions and do their own research before trusting this facility with their children.
