Our family loves the Goddard School! We have been to multiple daycares with multiple kids and moving. This is definitely a good one! All the staff know all of our children even if they never went to the school. The teachers are so patient, kind and attentive! The admin staff are patient and informative. The owner cares about all our children and is very present and easy to communicate with. It's such a relief to know my daughter is care for and loved all day! We were on a waitlist but we are so happy with the switch!! read more

My daughter started here at 6 months old. She had a lot of stranger anxiety and wouldn't take bottle easily. They unfortunately believed in "if she's hungry, she'll eat" philosophy which unfortunately was not the case with my baby. She has been exclusively breastfed and genuinely struggles to eat from a bottle. The sucking action is way different between breasts and a bottle. She took bottle from a couple people there. But they wanted her to learn to take it from anyone. So they STARVED my baby from 8-5 everyday for a couple weeks and asked the teachers she was comfortable with to STOP giving her the bottle! They also tried sleep training her with CIO method while she was hungry and starving. They also force fed her one time with one teacher locking her in her arms while the other was squirting milk into her mouth. They said this THEMSELVES as though they were taming a wild animal, that too when we grew very concerned that her weight dropped drastically. The school said she's one of the most stubborn babies they have ever seen and that they cannot care for her anymore. She's a BABY! And you say you have decades of experience! Apparently my daughter thought she's the boss and everything had to happen her way. The director complained that my baby spilled food on one of the teachers and the poor teacher had to call home and have her relative bring change of clothes for her. Excuse me? You work with babies and they are messy! You should know that by now! They are still learning their hands and legs coordination at that age and that's why they need someone to feed them and can't feed themselves. NOT my baby's fault that she spilled something! The school definitely don't work on building trust with the baby and working their way into a baby's life. They only believe in meeting physiological needs as though they are running a circus! Glad we are out of there. read more

It's important to note that this location came under new ownership a year ago. The new owner's new changes (ie spending money on improvements) are encouraging and have me thinking that the previous owner let things go when she started making retirement plans. Still, the thing that the new owner can't really change is the physical layout of the place. The upstairs has two big rooms that are not laid out well. We were of the understanding that the group would be split up into several small classes of kids, but I think that stopped happening when staff changes found them without teachers that were confident and prepared to really lead and manage a group on their own. The main building only has one classroom with little kid potties, and not every upstairs room has its own bathroom. I just feel like we pay too much money for my kids and I to tolerate these kinds of inconveniences. read more

Our daughter attended The Goddard School of Dublin for three years. It is an outstanding preschool and I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience there. When leaving her preschool graduation ceremony today, I asked my daughter what she was going to miss the most and she said, "My friends and teachers because I know they love me and I love them." As a parent, I can't hope for a better answer than that. Our daughter has several medical conditions and food allergies, and each year the teachers and staff were very mindful of her allergies. If they were planning an activity that involved food or other kids were planning to bring in birthday treats, they let us know at least a week in advance so that we could provide allergen-free substitutes and she could still participate. Communication has been fantastic and is always very professional. We receive daily e-mails with pictures, a description of memorable moments from the day, reminders about share day or upcoming events, and an activity summary of art, literacy, math, music & movement, STEAM, social science, and outside activities that they completed that day. Through the pandemic, they have done an excellent job taking precautions to ensure the safety of the kids. After a negative experience with a reputable in-home daycare provider, I am so glad we made the switch to The Goddard School of Dublin and only wish we had done it sooner. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer on a lot of issues at the Dublin Goddard on perimeter in Dublin Oh. I noticed as well the focus they had placed on the business but not so much on the kids. I do like the philosophy as well as the program they had at Goddard. I originally Picked The Goddard School because I loved the previous owner, Tammy Loh. She was very good with the kids as well as the parents, great communicator, business and people minded. My child thrived at the Powell Ohio location in Columbus Ohio. I believe the school went downhill when the new management came in. The front desk administrator always sat at the front desk with a sour look on her face with her shoes off. Whenever I asked her a question, she was very snappy, borderline rude. There was a teacher in training there when I took my son out of the daycare for good. She did not know how to control the kids especially ones that misbehaved. I walked in to pick up my son one day and one kid in particular was bullying my Son. The teacher did not do anything was just walking around unaware of the obvious situation. I was appalled at the lack of concern and attentiveness towards the situation. This kid was a problem among all the kids not just my own. I know the owner was trying to develop a new anti-bullying program to teach kids how to deal with bullies. However, if the pre-schooler does not feel comfortable telling the teacher for whatever reason if they are being picked on, there should be a teacher to step in and squash the bullies' behavior. This step was not being done, therefore the bully got the message that his/her behavior is Ok?? I don't want my child in that type of environment. When I let the owner know, she said I will let them watch a bullying video. No measures were taken. I had another child I was going to enroll to take a new job, but after this incident I decided not to enroll. Their facilities are not equipped for the amount of kids they have enrolled there and the focus is definitely not on the kids if they allow this type of behavior and expect preschoolers to fend for themselves. My son attended Goddard on Perimeter Drive from the time he was 3 months old until he completed preschool at age 5. We have been extremely happy with the care, fun, learning, and friendships he received there. The teachers, staff, directors, and owner are consistently excellent. The place is clean, cheerful, and cozy, with lots of interesting toys, books, games, and other learning devices like the Promethean board, and wonderful playgrounds for all the age groups. The owner and her husband give the entire place a new coat of paint each Winter and ensure that everything is very well maintained. We received an electronic daily report with a photo every day, which was really nice. The teachers were very proactive about calling if there was ever a boo boo or concern. The teachers and staff are loving and fun but also provide very good structure to ensure the kids' safety. The people that work there genuinely seem happy to be there with the children and do an amazing job teaching them how to treat others kindly and fairly, how to express their feelings, how to pay attention in a classroom setting, and the academics that prepare them very well for kindergarten. Each day, the teachers had a plan and covered different topics in language, art, social interaction, movement, etc. in such a varied and interesting way that had a central theme each day and week. My favorite time was circle time. I sat in on a number of these throughout the years, and they were always so engaging and fun. Whenever I would pop into the classroom unannounced, I saw wonderful things happening, such as a simple game of "Hangman" to work on reading and spelling skills (pre-K classroom), a fun song and dance, or simply free play with a teacher actively supervising in a fun and friendly way. Outside opportunities are brought to this location, such as chess instruction (free), Soccer Shots, Tap and Tumble, a magic act once a year, a reptile guy once a year, a music lady once a year, and more. This Goddard location is simply excellent and very nurturing. My son is now in kindergarten and misses the kids and teachers at Goddard. To be honest, if I had to do it over, I would have stayed home with my son and quit work sooner (I quit when he completed their preschool graduation), because I do regret all the time that I spent working and away from him in his earliest years. However, as far as child care goes, outside of a loving parent, I feel Goddard on Perimeter Drive is the best choice. read more
