Infinity Solar - Villa Park solar battery system

    Infinity Solar

    (296 reviews)

I wanted to share my recent wonderful experience with my recent service visit with Infinity Solar…read more I purchased my system in 2024 (detailed review also done); during this time, my solar generation has been absolutely wonderful, and sized perfectly by Kay. My electric bill is essentially free over all of 2025 and this year. Some months have a $10 dollar bill, other months negative depending on how sunny each day is. I have had zero issues whatsoever and system works like clockwork. The installation over my tile roof, done through Terrazas roofing, partnered with Solar has also been top notch with zero issues with multiple major storms last year. I would say i was 110% satisfied with my decision to go solar and with Infinity solar. Fast forward to 2026. A series of recent power outages resulted in no power in my home. My initial thinking was that my system should have generated power with a fully charged battery during this outage. After calling Infinity, it was relayed that my system per contract was only set up for load shifting by design, lowering cost which I had decided on. After discussing 2 options to allow for backup power generation, i decided to proceed with the upgrade. Throughout the process, the entire team supported me exceptionally, starting with Sara who stepped in to help speak to me when the service department was not available at the time. As i did'nt understand my contract fully,, i reached out to Kay in sales, whom i did not speak to in 2 years, who really went above and beyond to explain to me in full detail how my system was set up, and options i had to upgrade. Kay treated me like family. I was so appreciative of her kind approach. She helped coordinate a technical call with Joel to fully answer all my technical questions. Once i decided i was comfortable with to proceed with the upgrade, the service team took over, with Vanessa and Brianna helping me schedule my service. Vanessa and Brianna work tremendously well together; super friendly, pleasant, professional and helpful. I requested looking into a couple options which Vanessa followed up on and accommodated without hesitation. A straight forward and exact quote was provided on Thursday. Their service and help was fantastic and greatly appreciated. Upon approving my quote on Thursday, my service was completed on the following Tuesday, much faster than I expected. Upgrade was performed by Ivan, electrician specialist. Ivan also initially setup my system in 2024. His expertise is perhaps, in my view, the finest in the industry. I felt very fortunate and appreciative knowing i hd my system in the best hands. He spent about 3 hours working on my system, explaining all the steps. Work performed was tremendous. Ivan patiently answering all my questions on some of the system parameters forgotten over the past 2 years. System was up and running and verified to work fully with a simulated power outage performed through the fuse box, and through the app. I was thrilled to now have backup power during outages. Billing and final payment was as quoted and super easy. In closing, the real mark of any business is how you are treated after the job is complete. My belief is that Infinity solar lives up to their reputation of being an exceptional 5 star company providing high expertise solar services through all phases of a project; sales, installation, commission, operational life, and post installation services. In a business of fraught with fly by night companies, Infinity Solar is a true gem. Solar done right with integrity, highest expertise, and exceptional, prompt service when called on. Thanks again to the entire Infinity team. 5 Star once again! Dave C

Our experience with Infinity Solar's post-installation support has been extremely frustrating…read more We selected Infinity Solar partly because its sales representative repeatedly assured us that post-installation support would be handled smoothly. We were told: "We will be your number 1 phone call - always for all service related inquiries and anything to do with your solar system. We will address the issue and bill Solar insure so they can pay us for our services," "Year 9 or 11 or 30. It's all covered for us and you," ""The only time you contact solar insure directly is if Infinity goes out of business," "you can expect the same level of customer service throughout the project and afterwards as well," etc. Those assurances were a significant factor in our decision to choose Infinity Solar over competing installers. Unfortunately, our post-installation experience has been very different. Our system was installed in 2024. In July 2025, Enphase confirmed that the System Controller 3 included in our contract had never been installed. Because the controller's primary purpose relates to backup functionality during outages, there was no obvious indication during normal operation that a contracted component was missing. Infinity acknowledged that it had been "missed". Rather than immediately correcting the omission, Infinity proposed various solutions involving additional load center and other components costing from $4k to $11k just to remediate the issue. We were surprised that correcting a component omitted from the original installation was presented as a new project requiring thousands of dollars of additional equipment. After doing my own research, sending repeated follow-up emails, and spending months corresponding with Infinity, Infinity eventually acknowledged that it had missed the original controller and we reached a simpler $888 meter-collar solution, with Infinity handling the permitting process. The controller was installed and programmed in Nov 2025, but the permitting process continued into 2026. In July 2026, Infinity said it was still going "in circles between the fire dept and the city," and in September said it still had not heard anything definitive. These updates came only after we initiated follow-up emails requesting status information. In September 2026, our Enphase app reported a gateway-measurement problem, while reported production dropped about 40%. Enphase customer support found a discrepancy between the production meter and microinverter data and recommended an on-site inspection of the production-meter wiring and current transformer installation. We contacted Infinity. No response. After two more follow-ups and a 9-day wait, Infinity finally responded and informed us that an on-site visit would cost $400 for the first hour and $150 for every additional hour merely to diagnose whether the problem qualifies for warranty coverage. I am not opposed to reasonable fees for truly non-warranty work. I object to this substantial diagnostic fee never being clearly disclosed during the sale. We were given the impression that Infinity would address service issues promptly and bill Solar Insure. Infinity now says the fee is diagnostic and customers must first pay $400 plus $150 per additional hour before learning whether the issue is related to workmanship or warranty coverage. Customers are also given no indication of how many hours the diagnostics may ultimately require. Infinity further suggested we contact Enphase Care and other companies to solve this issue instead. Completely different from what they promised during the sales process. The fee is high enough that many customers may decide not to pursue diagnostics at all, making no determination whether it is a workmanship error. Secondly, the issue is not the existence of a diagnostic fee. The issue is transparency. Had this policy been clearly explained during the sales process, customers could have made a fully informed decision. In our experience, the sales promises, system design, warranty expectations, and actual service process were not communicated transparently. Prospective customers should insist on written disclosure of all diagnostic charges, warranty exclusions, system limitations, included components, and permit responsibilities before signing. If your system never develops a problem, you may have a different experience. If it does, be prepared for delays, repeated follow-ups, and a post-installation experience that does not match the expectations created during the sales process.

I didn't think much of it but I get now it's worth doing to get the most out of the panels. Overall a very good response and experience with OC specifically for this issue. However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.

The 4th year production shows improvement over the 3rd year as I kept the panels clean. However,…read moreit's still about 4.8% below the minimum guaranteed production (accounting 0.25% maximum annual panel degradation). It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.

Most weren't comfortable working with metal roofs, or I just didn't feel they had the expertise to handle them properly. I was actually about to give up on the whole idea until when I was introduced to Elione Solar. I decided to give it one more shot and spoke with Steve from Elione Solar. He walked me through every step of the licensing and installation process and was incredibly transparent about the costs and details. My wife and I had met with so many vendors by then that we could immediately tell Steve knew exactly what he was doing. Most importantly, he was confident about working with our specific roofing type, so we signed the contract. Throughout the process, I was surprised by how responsive he was. Any questions I sent via text or call were answered promptly with clear action plans that addressed my concerns. Bottom line: the installation was completed exactly as planned, and they did a fantastic job on the metal roof with no issues at all. I've been using the panels for 6 months now, and my only regret is that I didn't find Elione Solar sooner. I know solar projects are a long-term commitment that depends on warranty and ongoing service. While I haven't had any issues requiring their attention yet, based on my experience so far, I have no doubt I'm in good hands.

Our first conversation with NetZero was with Donny, and while it was helpful, we decided to pause and keep learning. After doing more homework and later reconnecting with Nilda and Bobby, the experience felt very different. They took the time to answer questions in plain language, walked through realistic expectations, and never tried to rush us into a decision. After we decided to move forward, the process was handled professionally from start to finish. Nick helped dial in the system design and made sure everything made sense for our home, and Mark oversaw the install side and kept things moving smoothly. The crew showed up when they said they would, treated our home with care, and cleaned up at the end of each day, which we really appreciated. Permitting and inspections were handled by the team and communicated the steps along the way. There were no surprises. Kelly was especially helpful keeping us in the loop and responding quickly whenever we had questions, which made the whole process feel far less stressful than we expected going in. Overall, NetZero Energy felt like a company that values doing things the right way and standing behind their work. We are happy with the install, the communication, and the end result, and would feel comfortable recommending them to friends or family who are considering solar.

Without making this review long and boring, let me just say Eric the owner, Rich the office manager and Zach the lead installer (and the rest of the crew) was great to work with from beginning to end. I was anticipating that there might be some issues adding batteries on to an existing system, with not only the installation itself, but with the approval process from Edison and the city. But Eric, Rich and Zach worked as a great coordinated team to get through any obstacles that came up. Anyone who's been through any type of home construction/remodel knows that nothing is perfect. But it's how the people you hired responds to those hiccups to make things perfect, is what counts the most. And I can honestly say NexGen exceeded expectations. In regards to value, Eric is upfront and says they are not the cheapest, but they are certainly not the most expensive either. So when it comes to my peace of mind, I'd gladly pay a little more. Go ahead and give them a call, I certainly will when I want to add even more batteries
