Nestled on the main drag of Lafayette, Royal has the cheapest gas in Lamorinda. Being an upscale…read moreneighborhood, many of the drivers here don't care or notice the difference, so they go to the Shell that charges more, the other stations down Mt Diablo Blvd. But then, there are people who do care, who come here for work or some other purpose, or live in an apartment and not a million dollar home. Or their are people who know the value of a nickel. So they appreciate the 5 cent cheaper per gallon Royal usually offers for the same grad e of gas. If you pay cash, all the better, as it will be cheaper again. But don't use a debit card. They charge $0.50 for that privilege, so you won;t realize any savings until your 11th gallon. $60 tanks of gas means no more latte's at the Starbuck's next door.

Today April 26,2026, I stopped here to make a purchase and to my dismay I developed car problems…read moreunexpectedly. I dispatched BMW Roadside service for a tow, and as I was waiting for a tow truck arrival, a female clerk walked out to my distressed vehicle and informed me to leave. She then stated if I don't leave within five minutes she will call the Walnut Creek Police. I informed her that my vehicle is inoperable and I am awaiting a tow truck arrival and the time of arrival is out of my hands. She repeatedly stated that she would call the Walnut Creek Police as she's only giving me twenty minutes more. My response was: " Call the police!" I have three receipts showing that I am a customer who made multiple store purchases. I then asked her: " what if you were stranded with an inoperable car, or better yet, what if your mother, father or other loved one were stranded, would you be ok if the situation were reversed?" She was an East African female who then walked away! I am in total disbelief that she would even make such a threat to me, especially since I am a Black American male stranded here in Walnut Creek, California as it's approaching 7:15pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Suggestions: please have compassion and understanding for a customer whose vehicle is inoperable.

Stopped by here to get a quick car wash and ended up buying the monthly special for 6 car washes…read more Michael was the attendant inside and was very helpful and very patient to go through the different car washes they offer and helped set me up once I downloaded the app. There was a couple before me who was also interested who also bought the monthly car wash and he was very patient helping them and explaining how it worked. Good guy. I've come across many workers and they're usually pretty abrupt and don't take the time to explain like Michael did. It took a while and without his help I'm sure the couple and myself included would've just walked away. A big thank you to Michael for all your help!

It's the chevron gas station at 3210 Buskirk near Best Buy…read more Their car wash has always had a small issue, weak blow dry, blowing up leaves etc. but it sort of got the job done. The last time we came our car was still soapy. They gave us a free wash code and then every time we came to redeem it they were closed for maintenance. I have the app so it also tells me when it's down and when it's back up. It went back up yesterday and our code had since expired. No prob, we bought another wash. It seemed promising. Then the blower did not turn on at all. The cars ahead of us it turned on for. Definitely don't get their monthly wash club thing considering how frequently it's down. But I just wouldn't go there in general anymore because all they offered us was a small towel to dry our suv. We would go because it's close to our house, and we always prefer touch-less car washes. So we had to get on the freeway to try and dry our car. It's not worth the time, money, hassle and disappointment!!! Pics of the wet car and the water marks after we "dried" it on the freeway.
