Such a great experience, and I keep staring at my new kitchen with wonder…read more When we bought our house 7 years ago, I did not love the kitchen. It was serviceable, but the honey oak builder-standard did not go well with the grey floors. Oh well, we made it work. After 7 years in the house, the finish was wearing, and some of the drawers wouldn't stay closed; we could finally say it was time to make the kitchen ours. I got quotes from several contractors and ended up going with Dan from Better than New Kitchens for several reasons: 1. He spent TIME with me to understand what I wanted; he also wasn't afraid to make recommendations to change what I initially thought in the interest of budget and what would actually work for my needs. 2. The quote was detailed. It included all the special features that we discussed, including separate pricing for some options I wasn't sure would fit the budget but wanted to consider. In quotes from other vendors, I couldn't tell if they had actually had listened to me and they did not include all of the features and options discussed. I work in requirements myself (software) and having all of it spelled out was very important to me so for sure I knew what I was paying for. 3. Dan's passion. This guy loves his work, and you can tell. All of that came to fruition in the build. Super efficient, professional team, and my kitchen is beautiful. No surprises! We didn't just refinish the existing kitchen; we also extended the kitchen against the back of our dining area wall. This gave me an amazing appliance garage, a mixer stand that pops up from a cabinet, and way, way more storage space. Highly recommend Dan and his team.

This company is amazing! We recently purchased a home that had very old world/traditional cabinets…read morethat we wanted to replace. The cabinets were only 5 or 6 years old and we didn't want them to end up in a landfill. Instead, I had my cabinet company replace all the doors and drawer fronts and update the island style and trim pieces. As a designer, I was very nervous about "painting" the existing cabinets and not having them meet my high standards. David was very patient with all of my questions and took the time to explain his process to me. Luis and his team showed up on time and covered every inch of my home that was in the spray area with plastic. They set up a spray tent and drying racks in my garage where they were able to do the majority of the work. In addition, they had large fans that vented outside to reduce the fumes. The end result is gorgeous! They matched my custom color to perfection. They primed, sanded, and filled areas that needed it, and the end result is a professional and durable finish. Luis and his team worked hard the entire time and were very respectful of my home and questions. I had contacted several companies prior to choosing Affordable Cabinet Refinishing. (Elite) to refinish our 1990's solid wood kitchen cabinets. We wanted to transition from a dated medium tone reddish-brown natural wood finish to have them painted a fresh, modern neutral color. We selected an elegant shade of beige with hints of yellow and green depending on how the sun is shining. We waited the full 30 days after painting to replace items on the painted shelves that were part of our kitchen. I have waited until now to write my review to be sure that the painted cabinet surfaces held up to everyday wear and tear. All I can say is that Elite did a fantastic job! Ernesto came and gave us the initial quote in December 2025 and he was also on our job every single day. Our painting work was performed by Ernesto himself and one other contractor (Tony). They worked quite independently, diligently and were patient and easy to communicate with throughout the project as I was onsite (and watching intently) the entire time. Ernesto's and Tony's work was top-notch. Also, the office staff person, Sasha, did a great job, start to finish: first, in getting us scheduled in a very timely manner; all the way to the end, with final payment processing. We truly could not be happier. Our kitchen is large and our existing custom cabinetry was solid wood that was in really good shape and would have been such a waste to just get rid of. However, I also did not want our kitchen to look hodge-podge or cheap, as our home is quite grand. Anyway, the end result is the kitchen of my dreams! The newly painted finish looks seamless, brand new, and has held up beautifully to everyday use. It gives our kitchen a refreshed and totally elegant look. I am thrilled with the work that Elite performed and I am known to be VERY, VERY picky! I would not hesitate to use Elite anytime I need cabinets painted in the future.
