If you have a one-story home Sun Valley Guttering is probably the best company you can hire. BUT if you have a two-story home, please continue to read. UPDATE 19 Oct 20 The job looked fine until we got a sudden rainstorm. The main reason for the rain gutters was so that rainwater would not dump down in our entryway. We have a two-story home. Sun Valley took care of all of the first story gutters, but there was one spot right over the entryway from the second-story roof that was missed. I called Gina and sent her photos and explained that there was an 8-foot spot that they missed, and water came rolling down like a waterfall during the rainstorm. Gina indicated that they have a $450 minimum to come out. I agreed to this as long as I could get it corrected. Then we received the message. "Oh sorry I'm not doing double story right now can't have my husband up that high on roofs something wrong with his hips" We responded, "Understood. Hope your husband heals soon. I will reach out to you in a few months to see if we can work something out." Gina responded, " Thank you so much but not doing again he's too old to be going up that high. Sorry " Maybe I am wrong, but this tells me then never planned to do the second story. I explained to Gina what we needed, and I trusted Gina's knowledge and expertise to give me a fair estimate for the entire job. Not a job that covered 95 % of my problem. The bottom line, please make sure that all of the areas that you need to be covered are covered. Don't like your neighbor, this is the company to hire. From their website, "Gutters help to channel and redirect the flow of rain water from your roof, away from your patio, pool, entryway and landscaping." It goes on to explain "why you need rain gutters for your home: Heavy Rain Water Run Off." So even though they know that monsoons can dump a lot of moisture in a short amount of time, they just installed gutters that send all of my neighbor's rain water directly to my yard. The company owner said a block wall will stop the water. Seriously? Not the case the water goes through or under a block wall. Anyone who lives here knows that. But, I guess he thinks scorpions also stop at a block wall. The nest this same neighbor had until recently kept our yard full of them. Sun Valley Guttering (David & Gina Herre owner operators) installed gutters on our home (2800 sq. ft) + our full 3 car garage (=more sq. ft) 3 years ago. Beginning with the 1st rainfall & for 2 1/2 years we had numerous issues with water spilling over the existing guttering, pouring off each end of a patio roof that should have had gutters and over several splash guards that were placed at intersecting roof angles. Each time I called for service (spoke with Gina) I was put off "until they would be in the area next", often times weeks later, many times not showing up at all. Finally, after being told there would be a "service call charge" during the 1st year it was clear they would not be standing behind their promise of quality workmanship & customer service. After contacting competitors we were told the gutters were sized much too small for the size of the roofline and volume of water and there should have been gutters placed on either end of the patio roof, not just along the length & the splash guards were undersized as well. Immediately after we had them re-done correctly the problems ceased. All told, what we paid for with Sun Valley Guttering was inadequate for our home and not properly done at that. Thinking back; the rapid installation (less than 1 hour total) & ensuing problems created from their poor workmanship along with the lack of servicing or standing behind their work all raise major red flags; buyer beware. read more

Fairly new to AZ and we've had all sorts of contractor problems for home improvement and maintenace. So many companies that act like they want the business, but then show their true color by not returning phone calls, not showing up to appointments and not answering their phones. Had rain gutters installed and they look very nice. Found them on the net, advertise that they take Master Card and Visa. They finished the job and ask for payment went to pay with card to find out they charge 3% to take it. Wasn't real happy I would've made other arrangements if known. read more

I happily decided on Sun Valley Guttering to installs gutters and downspouts on my house. Sun Valley was the first of three contractors to respond and quote. In addition to the stellar work they performed, what impressed me most about the job was the mastery of 3 simple tools that most contractors just cannot seem to grasp. Those tools are: 1 - A clock - they said they would start at 7am - according to my doorbell camera, they got to my house at 6:59:04am. 2 - email - try getting a contractor to respond to your questions/clarifications - Gina always responds, sometimes it might take the better part of the day, but remember she is working on installs and quotes too. 3- a broom - my property was spotless, aside from the great looking work, there was no sign that a contractor was at my house. I was surprised to see that most homes out here do not have gutters (I am from the Midwest originally). The excuse I hear is that it doesn't rain that often. That is true, but when it does, you want the rain to go away from the house. Not to mention the entry way - I prefer to shower when I get up in the morning, not when trying to enter/exit my home. Lastly, the thing I liked most was that Gina quoted the job, worked on the install, and is also the owner along with her husband. No subcontractors, no excuses, just great work. read more

I had been recommended to Sun Valley guttering from a neighbor. I called and Gina asked me to text her my contact information. Which I did immediately. Two days later, Gina called me and said she was in the area and asked if it would be OK if she could swing by right then. I was more than happy to meet with her immediately. I showed her the area I needed help with and immediately she said no, can't do it, i'm not putting up anything that will leak. She didn't try to any suggestions, ideas, or solutions and she just walked out. She was not even at my house more than five minutes. Her manner was abrupt and rude. Another good example of the business investing their time arguing and no time fixing the problems of their workmanship. Gutters they installed are too small. We have (had - fixed by more knowledgable folks) spill over at several point that required long splash blocks. The list goes on - we had additional segments added on that should have been done with the original install.
