The weather was nice for January and we made great time, stopping once for bathroom and snacks about halfway thru. The ride was comfy but we got a bit chilly sitting in the back. We requested heat and received it!! Yippee for warm toes. Tips and tricks-- Get a punch card. Ride 10 times and get one free! Sit closer to the front. It might be warmer. The driver caught one of the smokers - she was 40+ and, after 2 hours with cops standing around in the middle of Kansas, she pulled pregnancy card (oh, please!), and Greyhound's "zero tolerance" policy for alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, is, apparently meaningless. The drivers were helping people stagger onto the bus whose breath you could set on fire - I'll just fly, thanks. The buses were clean enough, but the stations! OMFGodless! Denver Colorado's bus station bathroom is the filthiest thing I've ever been in; my grandmother had a cleaner 3-hole outhouse.

We wanted to move out of Phoenix since the crime rate was so high. We also wanted to focus on raising our daughters in a positive and hands on way of live. When we lived in Phoenix our life was basically wake up, work, maybe have family dinner and just going through the motions of living each day. Things were the same thing each day and we wanted to be there for our daughters. When my husband started working after we went to St. George, Utah we began to see why so many truck drivers told me how Andrus isn't like other companies. They valued the employee's and their families. I worked at a truck stop in Phoenix, AZ which gave me many opportunities to ask drivers what they thought about the companies they worked for.
