My wife and I took an entire day off work and even arranged for 45 minutes of travel (one way) 1 1/2 hours in total, to drop our son off for childcare, all to make this appointment at 9 AM. We received two confirmation messages from Massage Envy the evening before, so we were all set. The morning of the appointment, with barely an hour's notice, the manager--Jordan--calls to cancel our appointment. Her excuse? That it was "unsafe to drive" due to snow and "ice on the road." Let me set the record straight: We live on top of Lookout Mountain, drive a rear-wheel drive pickup, and the temperature never even dropped below 36°--hardly freezing conditions, making ice formation IMPOSSIBLE. The roads in Chattanooga and surrounding areas were perfectly clear, and I personally woke up at 5 AM to get ready and drove our son to childcare, ensuring we could make our appointment on time. Instead of taking responsibility, Jordan spewed a weak, laughable excuse about unsafe roads and then had the gall to offer us facials or individual massages at different times as if that could ever make up for the massive inconvenience and wasted day off work. We explained our entire situation--our meticulous planning, the sacrifice of work and time, and the real disappointment of having what we had been looking forward to ruined. Yet, she showed zero empathy. When I asked her to escalate this to her boss and compensate us with two free massages for the utter disruption, she called back and flatly refused, offering a pitiful upgrade for a facial or hot stones instead. I asked for the 60 minute massage to be upgraded to 90 minutes, to which she said she could not do that because of their "system". To add insult to injury, she arrogantly tried to correct me when I pointed out that, per their own website, we would have been charged for canceling the appointment--if we'd canceled ourselves, that is. But because her team "couldn't come in," she tried to rewrite their policy on the spot claiming we would not have been charged. Finally, I requested a full refund of our gift card due to the worst customer service experience I have ever received, and she dismissed us entirely, claiming she could do nothing since we purchased it online. This is not only unacceptable; it's an outright scam of a customer service experience. Massage Envy on North Shore, under the management of Jordan, is a total disaster. Their bull**** excuses, complete lack of accountability, and shockingly poor customer service have ruined what was supposed to be a special day.
