Do not trust their plant guarantee!! I got plants and they died in a week, so I went to the store to get a refund within my return window, and they tried to beat around the bush about me not being able to return it. Very disappointed with this guarantee considering they put this notice on their receipt. They said all I can do is repurchase plants and pay for them. I originally spent $50 on all the plants that died within a week!

I absolutely love Sun River Gardens! I have been shopping here since 2017! I started my plant venture by purchasing a silver satin pathos. Ever since that purchase I've been addicted. Their facility is beautiful inside and out. I will say that the merchandise located inside for home decor is expensive, but I feel that the plant prices have maintained reasonable over the years. They ship in lots of their plants from all over the United States. I have gotten my plants repotted at their location and I have been pleasantly pleased. Their pots are pricey, but last lifetime. If you're worried about the price point for pots and or gardening tools, I would suggest going to a local hardware store like Home Depot or Lowes etc. I have had friends and family complain about past employee interactions when shopping here, leading to a unfavorable customer experience. As for me, I have never experienced terrible customer service only positive interactions. Everyone is different! The employees are of the younger age demographics so it can be hard to feel like customer service is 100% satisfactory each visit. I feel that Sun River Gardens plants have been the healthiest investment purchases in my plant venture thus far. Sun River isn't cheap (moderate to pricey). It bothers me when people complain about how expensive their prices are, but if you take the time to look at their selection, you can understand why they have their price points set to what they are. I have been to a few other nurseries in Utah and recently, I have noticed that Sun River Gardens has been the best with plant production and growth. I have purchased about 75% of my plants from Sun River. I have NEVER felt that Sun River Gardens plants have predisposed disease, root rot, fungus, mealybugs, or an other pests. One thing to consider is that in Utah we have dry humidity so some of the plants we purchase need good light conditions with high humidity output & temperature controlled environment. During my plant venture, when purchasing from this nursery, I have been the one to kill my plants. I don't feel like I purchased crappy plants from this nursery. I could go on and on and on about how I love this nursery, but I hope my feedback is enough to make you spend your money and buy the plants that call out to you.

I'm just not sure where to begin, because there's so much to be said about Sun River Gardens. Like, yes it's a nursery and did I even make it outside to the main outdoor area? Nope, that's for sure going on the agenda for next time. Did I wander around the pumpkin area in Halloween time? Nope, they were just starting to build it when I visited. Did I really get to see the home goods, the decor, and even the food/gift shop kind of stuff? I mean, I walked by it but I didn't have time to really get into it. And the seeds, as lovely and interesting as they were, I didn't have time to get into them. You see, much of this is my own fault for getting there with only 25 minutes to go until closing time, but much of this is also because the indoor plant section is just so absolutely dreamy. Like, all the lovely houseplants I've been perusing online suddenly are in front of me, looking back at me, in great shape and reasonable prices. The first order of business was a maiden hair fern. They actually had two varieties, and though I had come for the smaller-leafed version, I found a variety with a much larger leaf and the sway it gets when moved is irresistible. But more importantly, I've been looking for a good bearpaw fern for a while and when I saw the display of very healthy and happy Blue Star I knew I hit paydirt. Both of these are currently here at home with me, happy, healthy, watered, and sitting inside of two containers that were not on my radar when I walked in but most definitely came home with me because they are pure perfection. I barely got into the succulents, I fawned over the Z Z plants, and some of the aglaonema, and pretty much anytime I see large monstera it's a treat. All the hot popular ones are here. With a handful of plants and containers we made our way out. I very much wish I had more time there, but that might be dangerous. This is such a lovely spot, curated and filled with all the bestlife things you need.

Beautiful garden nursery! I love environment/theme, plants and the mix between home decor and plants. The plants are very healthy, lots to pick from. I highly recommend checking out their succulents because they have more verity of succulents then most nursery's. They don't have the stereotypical plants that you can get at Lowe's, or the average garden nursery they tend plants that you have never seen before, or plants you have seen before but their a little different a good unique different. The only down side to the place is that it is very expensive. We're it tends to keep me from buying. If I had lots of money I would gladly buy from here!

Sun River has probably the most beautiful plants, trees and flowers in the county. I've been so impressed with the variety of flowers to choose from. I love the ever changing gift shop where you can always find a fresh new idea. Right now they have an outdoor area for children to pick out pumpkins. Not to mention the giant TP. You'll find a host of Halloween fun here. I'm in love. I could stay for hours.

First off, why does Utah County seem to have way better nurseries than the SLC area? Salt Lake, get with it! My sister lives in Orem, and a little while back, we made a pilgrimage to several of her local nurseries, planning to visit Sun River, but running out of time before we were able to do so. She ended up going on her own at a later date, then immediately sent me a text stating it is superior to all others, and instructing me to visit ASAP. I love nurseries, so did not need much encouragement, and the next time I could make my way south, it was my first stop. They open at 9am, and as I am an early riser and similar businesses often open at 10am, I was already a fan. You can also visit on Sundays (starting at 11am)-yay! Located right off State, they are easy to find, and parking was plentiful. The lot is not giant, however, so during prime planting time I could see it filling entirely. It is really half nursery half home goods/gift shop, but they do this really well, avoiding either portion feeling like an afterthought. The store entrance brings you in to a large, high ceiling-ed space, that is very light and open, with thoughtfully and attractively displayed sections. You will find linens, cookbooks, kitchen supplies, some treats and food items, a children's area, jewelry, and accessories. Of note, an alcove for sale items is just on your left after entering. The nursery area is also arranged pleasantly, featuring all you would expect to find. If you love roses, they have a whole greenhouse dedicated to them. What really excited me is that the brand of fruits and vegetables they carry is Gourmet Grown, rather than Perennial Favorites, which most other suppliers offer. I love local Perennial Favorites, but because nearly every garden center in the area sells it, I end up seeing the same plants everywhere. One frustration this year was my inability to locate any variety of tomatillo beyond "green." You must have two different types to allow for cross-pollination; otherwise, your plant will not produce any fruit. Sun River had THREE (Purple, De Milpa, and Yellow Husk). Someone here loves tomatillos, and rightly so! After that successful find (yes, I got one of each), I started checking out varieties of other edibles in earnest, and found many more of every type of plant that I hadn't seen before, at least not here in Utah. As I was walking by the brambleberries I thought to myself, "Now, they'd really be amazing if they had a Tayberry," never expecting that they would, and truly like five seconds later, there was one right in my path! I have searched for a Tayberry for years, and this is the first time I have found one. I also bought a beautiful purple bell pepper that was so dark as to appear black, and a baby Lewisia, a perennial flower that is fairly difficult to locate. Their houseplant selection is also impressive, with darling fairy garden supplies (and not the cheesy kind often offered elsewhere), loads of tillandsia, stunning live plant arrangements, and they even host classes! They offer a slight volume discount for many plants, though in my case this did not even matter, because at checkout I was informed all veggies were half off! Apparently, a different special is available each week (you can sign up for their newsletter to be informed of it), though they would do well to make sure signage is up it as there was nothing advertising this that I saw. With participation in their rewards program, they record all your purchases, and you earn $1 for every $10 you spend. This is very generous, but I think it all balances out as I felt their prices were a smidge high (though I was not hesitant in the least to pay them for the special items I found). Customer service was friendly and enthusiastic, and as I left, the owner (I believe) genuinely thanked me for stopping by, which is such a small thing, but very nice. While I am not this far south very often, you can bet I'll be stopping by whenever in the area.

But if my visit is any indication at all, this is probably a family-run spot with nice folks doing their best to bring you good flowers. The world of plant stores/nurseries has taken a turn for the charming lately, with some even doubling as wedding and reception centers. Interiors are being redone with very Instaworthy layouts and all the modern trends. That's not the case here. This is where you go for your bedding plants. This is where you go for a nice tree. This is where you go to peruse the perennials to just cruise and find something you like. I'm told that earlier in the season they have a nice selection of veggies so that would for sure be worth checking out. I'm not sure if the wintertime brings more houseplants, succulents, cacti, or other on-trend plants, but for now that selection was pretty limited. It's not their specialty, and that's A-OK as long as you know. I found the help to be very friendly, and they seemed to focus a lot on making the plants as affordable as possible, which is always appreciated. They were kind enough to remark on all the recent markdowns and take the time to show a few favorites. All in all, it's a pretty straightforward spot with a lot of the likely suspects, and if you cruise around town looking at nurseries as I do, you'll probably find something interesting here, too.
