Decided to go get my nails done. My friend and I stumbled upon this place and luckily there was no wait we were the only two there. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The lady was very friendly and upbeat. The salon was very clean and organized. I wished they had signs up with the services they provided along with the price. She was very gentle with my hands which I liked and focused on getting the perfect shape. The only thing is I wish she cleaned up the extra nail polish on the edges of my nails. Yelpers love to explore, well that's exactly what lead me here! After the San Diego fair, you know eating you heart away and walking for miles, getting a mani and pedi is a great way to relax. Opened up yelped and they had a great rating so why not try them out! Walking in I was really nervous because they had a customer getting a pedi, and there were only two workers. We debated for a second if all three of us wanted to wait but Mrs. Lee reassured us that it wouldn't be that long. So we waited. She directed me to one of the pedi chairs and the guy that was there introduced himself and made sure the water was great. Then he started his magic!! He clipped, rubbed, cleaned, and handled my feet so well! The massage was AMAZING!! Had to make sure I didn't drool. The massage chair wasn't all that (wave setting was relaxing but I felt like mine didn't go all the way to the top as I would have liked it. ) but his foot massage was great!! After the great massage the guy painted my nails and then off to see Mrs. Lee again. They switched so I could stay in my pedi chair and she could do my gel nails. After selecting my color she proceeded to work away! I really enjoyed her because as she was working she held small talk with me. It was very personal and friendly. After she was finished she asked how I enjoyed everything and I was truly pleased. The pedis were $18 each and the gel take off and re apply of polish was $25. $18 spa pedicure is a fair price, I think. It is a nice clean salon located in a mini mall off of Clairemont Mess Blvd. (close to 163). The service I received was good with attention to giving me a good pedicure. The spa chairs are a massage chairs which I enjoyed and found to be very relaxing. My feet are dry and callously from wearing sandals a majority of the time. A spa pedicure is essential for me to have them scrubbed and cleaned. Even though I use an abrasive scrub during shower time...I still need additional help with managing the dry and callous heels. I got a good scrubbing here at Euro nails. What I really appreciate is I was only asked once if I wanted an additional service...I was not badgered into purchasing something I really didn't want or have the money to pay for. My roommate and I went on a random Thursday to get a mani and pedi and for me to get acrylics. There were only 3 workers there and because 2 others showing up a half an hour late for their appointment, our relaxing trip to the manicure became a long 3 hour ordeal. My french tips were finished within 30 minutes to an hour but my roommate's manicure and pedicure took FOREVER! The staff was nice but they were definitely unorganized and although the the ladies that showed up after us had appointments, we were there first and should of finished with our services in a timely matter. Our first trip to this nail salon was a lot nicer, since we were the only two customers there. All in all, if you can't make it during the week before 3pm, don't bother. Prices are too high but if you ask for a flower for your pedicure they actually stay on for a long time (mine stayed on for about a month). For that, they get an a-ok from me. read more

Jay and his nail salon is amazing!! Run don't walk to this place and check it out. I was surprised to see bad reviews. If you aren't stuck up this place is nice. I don't come to get my nails done to talk, so I didn't mind that Jay was quiet because he was so focused on my nails. He was the most meticulous nail artist I've ever had. You can tell he truly enjoys his job and isn't just trying to get through to the next customer. He truly takes pride in doing nails. He spent at least 25 minutes shaping my nails, even though I told him I wasn't too picky. The biggest thing was when I was paying there was a 10% grand opening discount. I figured if I didn't ask normally businesses don't volunteer that willingly. To me that just means Jay is honest and hardworking. Not just your average nail salon owner trying to make a profit. The total was $45 which I think is a lot cheaper than most other places. I've been to other places paid more for a worse experience. As it's new ownership show this place some love. read more

When your boyfriend tells you that he's going to take you to get a pedicure you know your toenails are probably pretty messed up. And after driving 8 hours and then scarfing down some food, we found this place open on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Great assortment of nail polish (O.P.I) and in clean bottles that don't require soaking in your pedicure water to open. I appreciate they didn't try to make me wax my eyebrows. The massage chairs did a good job kneading my back since I ended up on a call with work for most of my visit. I'm usually incredibly ticklish when it comes to pedicures but she did a good job and was careful to avoid all my painful blisters from wearing hot but not so sensible shoes. I do my own nails at times and they usually last at least 1.5 weeks... so that's pretty ridiculous. ------------ PROS - really friendly staff - cheap price ($25 for a mani/pedi) - fast service (i called, went in and had no wait time) - pretty good nail polish color selection CONS - massage wasn't as relaxing/strong as I had hoped for. I prefer a firmer hand to get rid of those knots. -no UV light to dry your nails; they use small fans and the position I had to dry my hands was uncomfortable -credit/debit cards charge $1 service fee, so bring cash. - - - First step was choosing the polish color; I got a light shimmery pink/purple OPI polish that I ended up loving. The massage chair was just okay, slightly old but still working fine. Water temperature was perfect, medium hot. There was a lady and another guy helping me at the same time for my mani/pedi (for a total of $25). One small complaint is that they didn't cut my nails perfectly in shape; I asked for a more square shape and they tried but some nails turned out slightly crooked; not too bad or noticeable though. The lotion used for the massage on my arms and legs was hot which did not come as a surprise as I had already read about it in yelp reviews. I guess my biggest dislike overall was the massage. I prefer my massages slower and deeper into the tissue. I feel like when they don't do it hard enough it hardly relaxes me. I came in to do fill for the first time to this place and they took almost 2hrs to finished it since only one person (I'm assuming) knows how to do nails. I liked my nails but I didn't like that they are too tick. This is a nice place but having to wait a long time it's ridiculous since there are only 3 employees and it seems that only one do nails, next time it's better to make an appointment. HIGH POINTS - friendly people - amazing price ($18 for a pedicure, including massage and hot towels) - quick service (no wait, even at 12:30pm on a Friday) - next to a Subway (mmm... turkey sammich) NOT AS HIGH POINTS - massage wasn't as relaxing as I'd hoped, but was effective - mediocre color selection, OPI or otherwise. TIPS If you do decide to come at lunch, be mindful of Subway parking. I easily found parking, but by the time I left, the parking lot was packed. If you decide to pay by credit card, there is a $1 charge. ------------------------- This is a fine neighborhood nail salon, the kind where you build a rapport over several visits. I walked in, it was clean, older but well maintained and not overly decorated with tschotzkes, like some salons. It would have been nice to have some music playing, but they had the TV going -- it looked like The Fall Guy or Jake and the Fat Man or something. Despite the mentions of the glorious OPI polish here on Yelp, I was underwhelmed with the selection. It was a lot of the same sort of colors (dark burgundy colors, lots of nudes and muted tones, stuff usually reserved for the holidays or older people) and many of the bottles looked a bit older and a bit dried out. They had a lot of some other brand with crazy colors, glitter and whatever. I just wanted something fresh and modern for the Spring. I finally found an OPI pink that I liked enough (La Paz-atively Hot) and Lance called me back. The chairs are great (VERY massage-y, rolling -- not just that annoying vibration). Really good chairs. And the water was medium to hot, which is how I like it. Lance asked how I was and was cordial, but not chatty and I caught him looking up at me from time to time to gauge my comfort level. He left my nails a *tiny* bit longer than I'd normally do and the big toe corners weren't as rounded/smoothed as I normally like (a little pointy), but that can be remedied with a nail file. I'm sure if I go regularly, they'll take note of how I like it -- it was only my first time. He was super attentive, though. The lotion was warmed before the massage and hot towels on my legs were included in the regular pedi price. He even made sure my nails were dry by standing over my toes with a heated fan. I've never had someone do that before! The reflexology massage was... different. I'm used to a slower, deeper massage, longer stroke, usually up to my knees kind of a leg massage. This was a much brisker massage, focusing on my feet only and going up my ankles. It went on for a while, but it wasn't as relaxing as I'd hoped. Occasionally he'd press a thumb somewhere (I assume this was the reflexology part) and that would feel *extraordinarily* good (and managed to quell some unrelated nausea I was experiencing -- crazy!), but overall, the massage was... well, brisk is the only word I can think of to describe it. Vigorous, maybe? And as one other reviewer said, I could feel his nails on the bottom of my feet, which was odd. I didn't hate it, but it just wasn't what I was used to. I noticed the woman next to me getting a long rub down up her calves by the girl doing her pedicure and found myself a bit envious... but it wasn't bad. I'll likely go back again, though I plan to check out at least one of the other Yelp recommended spots first. read more

Ok, so I'll be honest: I'm very tempted not to write this review because I don't want one of San Diego nail salons' best kept secrets to get out! Don't be fooled by Euro Nails' unassuming exterior and questionable location in a strip mall off of Clairemont Mesa & Convoy, this is one of (if not THE) best nail salons in San Diego. I am VERY picky about the way my nails are done; I basically expect them to be perfect every time or I'm not satisfied. As you can tell by the number of reviews I've done on places to get your nails done, I've been to a lot of nail salons and I know a good thing when I've found it. Lee is hands down the best person I've ever had do acrylics for me. She keeps my nails short, thin, and natural-looking; many people don't even know they're fake! Instead of using the white tips that grow out and look crummy, she free-hands my french polish each week and does an excellent job. She also uses a nice trick to make sure the gel is applied smoothly and evenly: she uses a candle warmer to heat the gel before she applies it! Now, on to Lance. BEST. MASSAGE. EVER. Lance specializes in reflexology and gives killer foot massages. He's also quite talented at nail art and does cute flower designs for me each time I come in. His work is very high quality and lasts for 3-4 weeks without chipping! There are a few downsides, so I would be remiss in excluding them from my review. One is that the massage chairs leave much to be desired. They are basically just rollers that go up and down your back in the same motion over and over. Also, $1 charge for credit cards. But these are pretty minor flaws in the grand scheme of things. Now, for the prices: $40 for a Spa Manicure and Pedicure with a 15 minute Reflexology Foot Massage, $22 for Gel Fills, $4 for French polish, $4 for Designs on my big toes. NOT great! I came here because I read good reviews on here. I did not like it very much. I went in for a full set of pink and white acrylics. I will admit, I am picky when it comes to my nails but I thought it would be okay because of all the strong feedback here . . . not so much. The pink was literally HOT PINK I told Lee it looked bad and she had to file them down for 10 minutes because they were so THICK - I hate thick fake looking nails and that is what they looked like! She did try to fix them but they still don't look very good. The white tips were half way down my nail before I asked her to fix that too. It ended up taking 2 hours to get them to even look decent. Then she charged me $5 for the gel on top. Isn't that supposed to be included in the price of getting your nails done? I asked her to trim my cuticles and she charged me another $5 saying it was a manicure!!! The $30 full set ended up costing $40 and they don't look nice. I am temped to go and get the pink and white covered up with a dark color because they are driving me nuts!! The employees are nice but the end results are way sub par. . . and she is rough with you fingers. I had a little cut on my hand which I asked her to be careful with, when I came out it was all inflamed and sore because she was so rough. So I ended up just walking in. There was only 1 person there at the time and I was helped immediately. After about 15 minutes a few more people walked in and there ended up being a wait as there were only 2 people working. I have to say though that she was very quick.
