I would be extremely cautious and avoid going here if at all possible. When asking about repairs to my truck the manager contradicted his self several time with what they did and did not do. NOT honest!! took my vehicle in and I get a phone call telling me there is a screwdriver in my radiator. Now understand they had just worked on the truck last week, so where could the screwdriver have come from other than they left it in the engine compartment. If there really was a screwdriver in the radiator. That along with not being honest with what they had to do to do repairs, To many contradictions. I had the luxury of overhearing a conversation w a customer who had come to them for a second opinion I believe. The manager called another auto shop to wk w them on the issue. I was impressed by how it was handled. He could have easily gouged the customer for more money but didn't. I also overhead another employee scheduling appts around his employees lunch. This Sun Devil Auto is the best! Our Chevy developed a loud rattle today. My wife stopped by without an appointment on a Monday afternoon, and Dave was able to work us in. They found some worn bolts that caused a loose heat shield. They were able to replace the bolts right then! Problem solved, no day without a vehicle or missed work. We recently moved to Scottsdale from this Tempe neighborhood, but we still prefer to come back this location on Elliot and McClintock. read more

We've been taking our cars here for years - both regular service and repairs. they are excellent service is great and works is done quickly and correctly. Rates are reasonable and they have free shuttle device locally if you need to leave the car overnight. Highly recommend them. read more

I had my daughter in laws car towed there after her car would not start. Before being towed they bought a new battery and still it would not start. This was early Jan 2018 right around New Years and I asked if they heard anything after the New Year from Sun Devil. Who after the holiday told my DIL that her car a 2009 Lancer needed a new engine!!!! Now my husband who knows about cars worked in shops in his early years said no way could a car go from running perfectly fine to needing a new engine to the tune of $5000.00! So we told our daughter in law get another opinion we have a mechanic if you can tow it to him will check it out before spending 5 grand on a new engine! So she had it towed to our mechanic to his home and I will not repeat what he said about Sun Devil Auto. I will tell you that he fixed the car for $300.0 not 5 GRAND but 300 and it was not a total engine job like Sun Devil had quoted it was the camshaft if that is how bad Sun Devil is I hope others get second opinions wow what crooks! read more

Good customer service. I received a follow up call after my service was done to address some concerns I had expressed. While servicing my car, they noticed an issue with one of my tires and encouraged me to take it back where I purchased it from, as there could have been a lingering warranty that could have saved me money. They also noted that there could be additional service that could be provided as preventative maintenance, that could ultimately save me some money (saving labor having to disassemble the car again). They offer shuttle service, which is a nice bonus. read more

I didn't buy service or anything. I had a flat tire this morning and messed up my jack. I came in as they were right near where I had a flat. They were very friendly and came out to help me re-jack my car as well as put my spare on for me! Definitely made my Monday morning better, thank you. read more

After going to this Sun Devil location for the last four years, we have regularly gotten oil changes and maintenance. We recently took our vehicle to them for an oil change and they proceeded to tell us that our breaks needed to be immediately repaired to be safe to drive. Total costs would be around $850. As this vehicle was recently purchased as a used vehicle and was inspected, this surprised us and we decided to have another respected auto shop examine our vehicle without telling them any details of Sun Devil's experience. The other shop did a very exhaustive evaluation of the entire vehicle, especially focusing on the breaks and found there to be no defect and stated the vehicle was in great working condition. As a result we've found this Sun Devil location to be an unethical and we do not recommend them. read more

I've used Sun Devil Auto Glass for windshield replacement four personal and 3 company vehicles. They've done chip repairs and replaced a rear window after one got blown out. They've always been on time, never had a communication problem, and the technician has always been courteous and efficient. I love their wiper blade replacement service as well. These guys are great. I've been a regular customer at Sun Devil Auto for 3 years; spent around $3,000 there in that time because the customer service was always good, the guys always stood by their work, and you can go to any location for warranty work. That all changed in the last 72 hours and its likely to result in legal action. If you want the gist of this before reading it all, the manager of this store called my employer and said I "threatened" him because I left a negative Google review about his behavior. Yes, you read that right...this guy attempt to "tell on me" as if my employer is my mother and father; and was hoping I'd be fired or something. Of course my workplace was just as confused and dumbfounded as I was that a grown man in a position of manager at a corporate franchise took this unprecedented, bizarre action. Read on for the entire incident. I went in to have my brakes looked at due to a grinding noise. They are warrantied via Sun Devil Auto. As always the guys got my van in quickly (even though they were busy), tinkered a bit, and sent me on my way. This is the customer service I've grown accustomed to. I noticed my passenger-side door handle was broken later that day. The only person who had exited it was the mechanic when I was driving the van to demonstrate the noise. I called, let them know about the issue, and the same guy I'd talked to earlier in the day said bring it back in and we'll look at it. I went back in and he, again, tinkered with it and told me it would take a while to fix; and told me to bring it back Friday. Today I brought it back in and Dave (Hyland I believe is his last name), the manager, came out of the building as the tech was looking at the handle and accused me of trying to scam them. I recorded the entire conversation and posted part of it on my blog. He said "you can't just come back days later and say we broke your door handle and demand we fix it." He said the van is old and we're not liable for it. When I informed him I brought it back the same day and they would have fixed it that day had I not had other obligations he said he would have fired the technician(s) if they fixed it for free. Again this is all on tape and published online. There was no way to have a conversation with this guy after he accused me of trying to scam them out of a $15 part despite records of me spending $3,000 there in 3 years. I even had an appointment to get my 36,000 mile transmission service done tomorrow (another $150-$200, but obviously I will not be doing that now. This Dave character does not fit the company culture of Sun Devil that I've grown to know over three years: empathetic, good listeners, good workers; explain things you don't understand, stand behind their work, etc. They may be a bit overpriced, but they always stand by their work, of course except this situation. It was just a humiliating experience all together and this guy should not be a manager for any Sun Devil location. Dave does not fit the high-level customer service of the overall culture. My plan was to simply let this whole situation go after the weekend and fix the door myself. Customer relations wrote me personally on Facebook and said they would follow up on Monday (today). But apparently they did not have a chance to do so. The Sun Devil Auto manager referenced above (Hyland) called my workplace and told them I tried to "fight" him and "threatened" him. He saw the company logo on my the shirt I was wearing and wanted to do anything to retaliate for the negative online review. His goal was to get me fired, take down the review I left on Google, and/or apologize to him; none of which happened nor will happen. I've never heard of a store manager from a company harass and threaten a customer at their workplace because of an online review; and I actually believe this could be unprecedented. Therefore the next steps are 1) exploration of legal action and 2) potentially filing a police report. To all future Sun Devil customers: make sure if you had a bad experience and share it with the public online that you are prepared for this manager to harass you, threaten you and retaliate further by calling or showing up at your workplace, home or anywhere else in your personal lives. This has now turned into a scary situation as this guy is obviously unstable, but it will be handled accordingly. I doubt their customer relations department will even do anything about this now. Its become a criminal and civil matter now when a simple acknowledgment and apology would have been fine. read more

Dave has helped me out tremendously when my car needed to be repaired for multiple reasons throughout the past year and is always extremely helpful with information!
