Jaime has got to be one of the nicest and most honest contractors of any kind in South Florida. We…read morehad an issue with a small sinkhole type hole in the parking lot of our business, adjacent to the storm drain there. After calling several "asphalt" related paving companies and contractors, who all claim to offer free quotes, we were getting nowhere. Either calls or e-mails went unreturned, or we would speak to someone and there would be no follow-up. So, a little out of desperation, we ended up calling Champion Concrete, based on the existing stellar reviews online, and the fact that they were still showing up in Google searches for driveway/parking repair, even though their core competency is concrete, travertine, brick pavers, etc., and not necessarily an asphalt parking lot. First off, from the very first phone call, Jaime was extremely courteous, and even though he mentioned that this was not their core business, he wanted to try and help, given our situation. That very same day he showed up at our place of business in the evening, after hours, to inspect the problem and then via a phone call provided me with various options. This job couldn't have gone smoother. From the time we gave the go-ahead for him to perform the repair, he was on-site within 48 hours. He performed the repair exactly as he had originally outlined over the phone. I was not on-site when the repair was being done, so when I saw my phone ring with his number, not too long after I knew he had arrived, my first thought was, "here we go; there's a problem". I was in shock when I heard what he had to say, which was that the job took him less time to do than he had anticipated, and that it was going to be $150 less than what he had quoted me. When does THAT ever happen?! In any case, Jaime and the team at Champion Concrete really helped us out when we were in quite a bind, with a potentially hazardous situation on our property. My manager, who was the one dealing with Jaime and his crew when the work was being done, also told me, after the fact, what a nice guy Jaime was to deal with and extremely competent in his field. Bravo to Jaime and Champion Concrete for doing excellent work, for doing it quickly, at an extremely reasonable cost, and most importantly for taking on a job they would not normally handle and coming up with solutions. In my experience, this level of competence and honesty, in this industry, is a rare find.

My most recent interaction has been a disaster. After several weeks of trying to set up an appointment, they finally showed up. Peter Masi, the owner, gives me a price for a "perfect" (his word) system. The price is pretty steep but I gave the okay to proceed. Then Masi comes back and wants more money than previously quoted. The money was said to be to repair an obvious defect that Masi saw, or should have seen, before the original quote and included in it. I told him I would honor his original commitment for a "perfect" system but not for additional repairs. He then sends me a bill for what little work had been done - and not done well - and hounds me for payment. When someone gets you in the door of the business by promising you something certain for a price certain and then comes back and demands more to complete what was originally promised that's very wrong. Buyer beware!

After doing a little research and finding good reviews on Miami Construction Brokers I decided to give them a call. The owner Mike picked up as soon as I called, he scheduled the estimate and showed up on time. He told me our 3,500 sqft flooring with new baseboards would be completed in 5 days. I did not think this was possible as we have a two story home and the floor upstairs had to be removed as well as the old base boards. After meeting with two other flooring companies, I decided to hire Mike because he really went out of his way to answer all my questions and was available every time I called him. He made the entire process very stress free which is super important when undergoing any renovations in a home. I mentally prepared myself for the job to be completed in two weeks but to my surprise Mike came through with his word and my entire two story home had new floors and baseboards in 5days. His crew did an amazing job, we are beyond happy with the renovations of our floors. If you are on the fence between flooring companies or contractors I can guarantee that Mike and his team will not disappoint. Thank you Mike, you did an Excellent job and exceeded our expectations.
