This was one of the last storage facilities I checked out in Northeast El Paso, and when I asked about the prices, they didn't have a rate sheet, and were the highest of the bunch. When I told the guy they were on the high side, he went into a spiel of which none of it made any sense to me. It just struck me as odd that instead of doing what every other storage manager does(matching or beating the competition's price) he tried to sell me on points that were no different than any other place. So when I saw that this place has 34 filtered reviews and only one legitimate review...it started to make sense. Writing fake reviews is unethical and is a good indicator to steer clear of this place. I would give them a one star, but the facility did look well maintained. And when I asked about the truck, it was not free. He said it was half the regular monthly rate of the storage unit. That didn't make sense either. So you are going to pay more for the truck if you put more stuff in it, not based on mileage? I mean that is great if you are moving your stuff from Albuquerque, but not so great if you are cleaning out your garage less than a mile away! Maybe he just didn't like me. Probably because I'm too sexy for my shirt. So sexy it hurts. read more

After having this storage unit for a year, payment went up for "cleaning". They aren't cleaning my unit so why the increase. Maybe if they had good seals on their doors my unit might not be full of dirt. No matter if you pay on time, in advance, several months at a time, don't count on gaining access when you want. The gate will randomly not open. Or malfunction and close before you enter. Don't pay in cash, or if you do keep the receipt. Don't expect to get any email notice when the payment is due like every other bill you have. They will mail notice to your emergency contact before you get notified. I am beyond frustrated with this place. Looking for something else. read more

This experience was horrible! I could not stress enough to stay away from this facility. It was only five days before we had problems. We were asked to leave for no REAL reason! We were told that we were speeding in this facility although we were carefully monitoring our speed on our speedometer but an employee told us he knew we were speeding. This employee informed my husband that he was "highly trained to count to 40 to see if a car was speeding", when my husband asked for proof of speeding. I cannot believe the unprofessionalism of this facility and fear for others in doing business with such a flaky institute. When my husband apologized, although knowing he did nothing wrong, he asked if this was his warning and the employee stated "No I do not want to tell you again, you need to move". Keep in mind we had only been to the facility 3 times, with NO other encounters. I still do not understand how this business operates, and with such an unprofessional employee, such as this man. I really hope others heed my warning to look elsewhere for a storage facility. As the employee mentioned "There are several other storage facilities you can use!" UPDATE 02/18/2015 I would like to take time to give an update on my experience with Sun City Self Storage. I was recently contacted by senior management in regards to my recent experience at their facility. For my concerns to reach senior management and actually have them show concern over my experience was refreshing. This action speaks volumes about this corporation and I feel they should be given acknowledgement for it. I was assured that training would be upgraded and that this occurrence would not happen again. I am grateful for this company taking time out to resolve this issue, and that the drive for outstanding customer service can still exist. read more

We were able to reserve two huge units here, and paid nothing for the first month on either unit. The owners were working that day and they were extremely nice and friendly! They gave us water while we were loading and unloading and let our four kids use the bathroom facility several....several times! :) We would recommend this storage facility to anyone!! read more

I'm in the US Army and have had a storage unit with Sun City Self Storage. The customer service is great. They were extremely helpful and provide a discount for military members. Setting up an automatic payment was easy. It was also nice to be able to change payments through their online website or over the phone. Highly recommended. read more

I don't know why I looked at other places before coming here. My buddy rented here while he was deployed. They only charged me $25 for the first month and it was $71 for a 10X10 every month after that. 24 hr access, clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They do a 10% military discount and the let you rent their moving truck for free for a day to move your stuff in. The other places I checked were kind of shady and looked run down. Give them a look before renting somewhere. read more

This place has issues... raising the rent because "energy and fuel costs have increased" during one of the lowest prices of crude oil and natural gas in years! If you're going to raise the rate, just say so... don't make up ridiculous justifications. My wife was berated by one of the workers, "Ray" for following a car through the gate, which happened to me all the time. Not a professional reminder of the rules, but a condescending tone with threats of locking us out for "default" of the rules. The facility is fine, but its just a storage business so its not too complicated. If you like over zealous rule enforcers, a less than professional atmosphere, and belligerent customer service....this is the place for you! I gave it one star for the age of the buildings. read more

That right there was a deal breaker for me...I have so many locks, if I buy one more my wife is going to kill me.

And it is right on the sign, so you know they probably don't change the prices often. Also, the sign at the gate says 17' truck Maximum!

Last minute frantic, this company was able to hold our household goods! We are an active duty US Army military family. At last minute this company was very grateful to us for the last minute reservations. This company even has a truck you can borrow for the day at a very LOW cost if needed to be. I WOULD HIGHLY recommend Sun City Self Storage!!! We have been renting from them since Aug 2011. 1st month rent was free for us with a half of option for the 2nd unit. They can set up auto-debit from your debit card to make transaction simple & on time! They were even able to give us our units right by each other! Made it really EASY for us! This facility has a gate that you do need to enter a code to enter. 24/7 camera's through-out the facility with an on site manager during the business hours.(unsure about evening hours). The staff was very VERY pleasant during our stress-ful time! Thanks again to the mangers & owners of Sun City Self Storage for making our move a little more pleasant!! read more

Nice looking facility, inside and outside. I like they perform daily checks of all rented lockers, and the fact you need a certain security code to even get inside. They're spacious storage units, and at an amazing price. I like they offer deals, such as credit on your bill for mentioning them on Facebook. They also offer a really good military discount. They include other things, such as the free moving truck for new renters, as well as the carts to make moving in easier. They go the extra mile, with a smile on their face as they do it. Ray is awesome, he knew I was going out of town, and is always courteous when I call to inquire about my storage unit. What an amazing establishment! Very clean, the staff is amazingly helpful and courteous! Great rates! Very trustworthy and safe place for your belongings. Gated, security gates, large doors for climate control area to get your stuff in, roll carts to help you move it from your vehicle to the unit, clean! We are military so when we leave our belongings it's hard to know who to trust and what businesses are honest. This has been the best experience as far as storage goes in El Paso, Texas! And there they offer military discount which other facilities in the area didn't. 24 hour security was also a big plus! I would recommend this place to everyone! My Husband is in the US Army, he has been deployed since June, we have had the most great experience and feeling of comfort with Sun City Self Storage. Just knowing that there is cameras monitoring the facility as well as there being an on-site manager 24 hours a day also helps our experience with putting our belongings in storage. All the amenities of a military discount, having online payment options and the ability to set up automatic payments is also a plus being that it is a great option to have the ability to manage your account online is great. I have been a customer of sun city storage since August and have always gotten the help I need which has helped me alot since I have been out of state. I was able to get in touch with the onsite manager when I needed to when they weren't available and I needed to get into my storage and even better get a military discount. I can access my storage 24 hrs a day and feel comfortable having it be monitored by cameras and on site managers 24 hrs a day. I would highly recommend this storage with the provided security, 24 hr access, and for military, a discount too. In addition by spreading the word you can get a discount for any friends that sign up for a storage unit too. read more

I have been a customer of Sun City Self Storage for the past four years. Having moved around quite a bit, I've tried several storage sites and this one by far is the best of them all. I consider it an extension of my home and am reassured by its top of the line security especially the climate controlled units. The location is perfect and the round the clock access allows for one to store & move at the most convenient of times. The owners are most kind and the area is always kept clean. When I first found out my family and I were moving to El Paso, I got online to search for storage units. Of all the storage places, Sun City Self Storage was the only one with 5 star reviews. Upon My arrival I realized why. The staff is extremely friendly and considerate. They even offered to help move my belongings. Their facility is extremely clean and well kept. They have great move-in rates and specials and all the equipment you need to faciliate your move, in and out. Very wonderful place with the nicest people working there. Every time I go there I feel safe and comfortable leaving my items in the unit. Location is out on dyer but really easy to find and right next door to another business that is always lit up too. I received a military discount and the price for each month is a great price. I did not find another place that was affordable like SunCity with the security and accommodations they have. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking to store stuff in the area. read more

I would defenitely recommend this storage to the people in Northeast El Paso. I had two large storage units and the first month was free. The truck usage was free as well since I did not go over the free miles they provided. Customer service was excellent and friendly. Provided free waters while we were unloading and loading the units. Ask for Ray the manager he went above and beyond and even assisted in the loading and unloading the unit. By far the best choice for storage in Northeast El Paso. read more

We have been with Sun City Storage for over a year and feel very good about storing our property here. It is an extremely safe and secure facility and maintains a clean environment. When we moved our things in, the facility allowed us to use their moving truck free of charge, huge bonus to us. We have a temperature controlled unit and love it. We have used Sun City Storage since we moved back to El Paso in 2008. We started with two temperature controlled units and are now down to one! We are still working on the weeding out and downsizing we need to do. Throughout this process, this facility has been impeccably clean, secure and available to us whenever we needed. The site is very clean, and the employees/management are extremely helpful and military friendly. They had to place us on a wait list to get the climate control unit we wanted, and they called us each week to update us on the status. I love that they live on site, so the security is not only monitored 24/7 electronically, but also personally. I have rented storage units all over the country and the climate controlled unit I have rented here is by far the cleanest and easiest to access. I was in the Air Force for 10 years and I really appreciate companies that understand the sacrifice and commitment of military service. Of all the storages there are in El Paso I totally recommend this one. The custumer service is great, they are always friendly and nice even by phone. Good price for climate controlled units.
