I have been a customer of Sun Auto Werks for over 20 years. Reason being, they are professional, thorough, and most of all fair. In an industry, where it's difficult to trust, but so necessary they are heads and shoulders above the rest. We all need our cars for mobility. I've been to alot of mechanic's and it's hard finding someone who will not try and convince you to do work that you don't need, do a good job, get it done quickly and won't charge you an arm and a leg. Their prices are reasonable, turn-around time is good but best of all, I trust them. I have bad experience with these guys, I paid them to test my car for 2 problems. They checked one problem and they told me to come next to test the other problem. One I came the following week they said they are short on staff. He was lying, I saw four mechanics inside the shop. He asked for $550 to change the radiator. Over priced! I fixed it somewhere else for half price. I guarantee you will end up paying for a couple of problems in your car, over $1000. read more

Like all the reviews before me, I have to give this place 5 stars. I needed a tire rotation since places that claim online they do rotations couldn't do one for me.... I was looking & calling all the shops in the area & Sun Auto Werks was the only shop that could take care of it even if it was very short notice & closing time was approaching. They also informed me that I needed new brakes for the back since they were extremely worn. They worked around my work schedule so that I was able to not miss a day of work but still get the car fixed ASAP so my car was safe to drive. I am just getting back from picking up my car. This was my first experience here after my car sounding like a gang of motorcyclists. I brought my car in at their opening time around 8 a.m. The gentlemen there explain that I would leave my car and the manager will give me a call back around 9 a.m to 10 a.m. about the issue, pricing, and so forth. I recieved the call and unfortunately someone had cut off my catalytic convertor. I also had replace that and my air fuel sensor and 02 sensor. My mechanic Atip explained to me the situation, the cost, and pricing per part. I am a struggling college student so I wanted to buy the parts at Auto Zone for a cheaper price, but how would I get there? Atip let me borrow his car to pick up the parts while my car was in shop. I was able to call him from Auto Zone to verify the parts I needed and he would gladly install them as well. I got the car back by 7 p.m. which I am impressed that I even got it out the same day. I met Sunny who explained to me about their warranty on their parts and told me I needed a new car battery. If my car didn't start the next day, they would gladly drive over and install one for me. (I lived about 3 blocks away from the shop) REASON WHY I KNOCKED A STAR OFF I knocked off a star because my sensors were install backwards. I diagnose the problem finding out the parts were in the wrong area which is why my check engine light came back on and reason why I couldn't pass my emissions test. read more

My heat went out last winter. I took it here to get it fixed. Spent $300. Did they fix it? No. Brought it back they fixed it didn't charge me. Fast forward to this winter. My heat went out again. They "fixed it" now I needed a catalytic converter to pass my emissions. I was very weary of letting them touch my car because of the heat issue. "No no no." Sonny the owner swore my car would be good. I let them replace it along with other things. At 5 am I'm driving to work. My cats check engine light is flashing and the car is sputtering. My engine is misfiring because of the catalytic converter!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. They don't know what they're doing. I gave them chance and chance again. Horrible shop read more

I cannot say enough about this shop. First, on the logistical side, they are open until 7pm & on Saturdays. Second, they use email & text messaging on top of the old fashioned phone. Third, Sonny (owner/manager) is awesome. He is totally communicative - thorough, attentive, and accommodating. One of the lead mechanics (Attik I think?) has also been happy to explain what was going on with my car & easy to deal with each time I've taken it in. I have a Toyota hybrid & they are the only shop near me that hasn't been apprehensive to work on my car. This is the only mechanic I will go to from now on, and I've used 4 or 5 in the past 20 years. I really wanted to give them more stars, as they are just around the corner - super convenient with long working hours, and they are really friendly team, but two things annoyed me. They said battery replacement would take ~3 hours (they had to order it from somewhere else), but it took ~6 h. I was not in a rush this time, and they did call to let me know there is a delay, but still...it's twice as long as the time they initially estimated. The other thing was the pricing - when we discussed the price on the phone I explicitly asked if that's total price or just battery, or with labor, but without taxes. It turned out that what I was given as a total price was only the battery price - can't tell if it was miscommunication or what, but I faced ~40$ more than expected. read more

I had an appointment at 10:30am on a Saturday. They took me right away and were done with my car pretty quickly. Everything was cleared and they topped off my fluids. I came here to get and estimate on my car repair ..I got to the shop at 8:30am so the guy looked at the car then we drove the car so I can make sure he knows what I'm talking about so they did a print out of the work and told me that the owner would be in at 1pm and they would call me when he gets in. So I said you can't tell me he said they have to call and see how much for he parts are. So its five hours later and I still haven't heard from them I left two numbers for them to call me back. I made it 2.5 years without getting so much as a door ding on my leased car...so of course, with 6 months left in the lease, some idiot dragged his teal car across the front passenger-side corner in a parking lot, denting & scraping the quarter panel and bumper. With one week until the lease-end inspection and turn-in, I headed up to Sun Auto Werks for an estimate, and ended up handing them the car on the spot. Four business days later, it was ready for pickup, looking as good as new for less than half the price a dealer quoted me! When I turned in the car the next day, a lease inspector commented about the quality of the repair, calling their paint work "expert" - apparently it's not always easy to match factory metallic tri-coat paint, especially after it's had a few years to fade, but Sunny and his crew pulled it off flawlessly. The general manager was so impressed with the condition of the car (and the low mileage) that, rather than having me turn the car in, he ended up buying me out of my lease so he could sell the car as certified pre-owned! Hopefully I won't have to take my new car to Sunny's for bodywork, but if that anonymous idiot with the teal car strikes again, I won't take it anywhere else. read more
