I've used Acey for our sump pump needs for around 13 years, and he's honest, hard-working, and has high ethics. Recently, I decided to have our two (battery and regular) sump pump lines buried (yes, they were above ground for 16 yrs!) and at first Acey said take it out at least 40 feet and I said how about 20 feet. So he buried them 20 feet out but we found out the water was not draining enough from the pop up drain, and instead finding its way to our foundation. When I told Acey, he came out, and extended it another 50 feet (70 feet total), and he discounted his rate, since the first time did not work well. I really give credit to him, because he originally wanted to A) extend it out 40 feet or B) extend it & attach it to a city drain in our neighbor's yard and I talked him out of it. When it turned out his better judgment was the correct one, we paid him more, but he was kind enough to discount our rate. So, total was $2650.00 but honestly, it's tough to have a 70 foot pipe installed correctly for less than that, especially supervised by a licensed professional. And, another thing I like about Acey is he will tell you things you can fix on your own. Example, we had a small leak in our basement, after the July 4th rain. Acey put my hose into the window well, turned it on, and pointed out how drain was clogged where water leaked in, and told us how to clear it. We cleared it on our own, and shored up the dirt around the foundation, and we caulked the window inside and outside. The next hard rain, we had zero moisture. He'll tell you what he'd charge, but he also gives you the opportunity and advice to do it yourself. He's all about helping you save. So, he's our guy! read more

Can't say enough about Acey and Sump Pump Medic. With three visits, he completely updated our Ion sump pump systems compared to what was originally installed when we had our house built 9 years ago. Our new set up is now correctly sized and configured to operate efficiently like we need. There is a creek at the end of our block so the water table is high. We feel confident that Acey's hard work will keep our basement dry. He's a hard worker, a great troubleshooter and takes pride in his work. read more

Acey is an honest, ethical person. That is the bottom line when hiring a person for home maintenance and repairs. Is he basically ethical? Will he cheat me, if given the chance? Prompt and honest, never pushy. I had Acey come a few years ago to have our sump pump serviced. His honesty and lack of a sales pitch approach impressed me then. Our system recently failed and he responded promptly and set us up with a superior system at a lower price compared to another company who gave us an estimate. Highly recommend. read more

Acey of Sump Pump Medic knows his stuff. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and sincere. After examining and servicing my battery back up sump pump, he took the time to explain in detail everything that he's done and what may or may not be needed to keep the main and back up pumps operating at peak efficiency. I give him five stars for quality of service, advice and for taking the time to answer any and all questions. read more

Ace was awesome. Did the job right and corrected some issues which had been in place since the house was built. He explained everything, showed the issues, showed the repairs and was professional and not pushy or doing the hard sell. All around best experience I have had with similar services in my life. Great service I will recommend to anyone in need. read more

As a new homeowner I called Sump Pump Medic because I was concerned about the condition and effectiveness of my sump pump. Acey drove to my northwest suburban location on a Saturday afternoon, which was extremely convenient for me. When he arrived he offered to wear protective booties over his work shoes, which was very considerate but unnecessary as the path to my sump pump is just a few steps inside the door. Once inside he diagnosed the situation, took time to explain what was happening with the pump, and made some great recommendations. He thoroughly cleaned out the pit and the pump which was covered with clay-like debris. I was extremely impressed with his written summary of the service visit and the pre-printed materials he provided. Above all else he treated everything inside and outside of my home with extreme care as if it was his own. The quality of service was top notch. I would recommend Sump Pump Medic to anyone who needs this type of service. read more

Very knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. Highly recommend. Installed sump pump and has done maintenance for us several times. Then he tells me that there is a $650.00 Flat charge just to Put Wayne ESP 25 battery back up sump pump.....VOW!!!!! I looked on wayne pump website and learned that it takes 30 minutes to install the pump. I waisted my whole afternoon ... Looks like No body talks about the money they paid for his services. Acey is the real deal. In a semi-emergency situation, he was at my place in a couple of hours, rapidly took care of the acute issues at hand, and replaced my old back up battery and dead pump. He even threw in a free high water level detector for free. He really knows what he is doing, and would not hesitate to use him in the future or recommend him to anyone in need. read more

He was very clean and neat; he wore booties over his shoes and cleaned up any mess made. I can now how have a piece of mind knowing that my basement will not flood. read more

It's great to do business with someone who is knowledgeable, responsive and does great work. Our ejector pump died on a Friday night and Acey reworked his schedule to come out on Saturday. As soon as he looked in the closet, he pointed out an issue with battery backup configuration. Acey replaced the pump, explained everything and was very thorough. My experience with Sump Pump Medic sets the bar for what good service should feel like. read more

These guys are solid. They came out to replace an old broken pump and did it fast, clean, and answered all my questions. Gave me several options and estimates along with pamphlets for all the hardware so I knew exactly what I was getting. read more

Sump pump medic was awesome. I got tons of quotes and sump medic beat them by far. Great service for the cost and the quality of work was on point. I wish I could upload pictures of their work on here. Had them install a trench drain at the bottom of my driveway (split level home w/ lower garage). Haven't had a drop of water in the garage since. In the end, I wish I called them first. It would have saved me 3 months looking for someone to do the job at a fair price. read more

I had Sump Pump Medic come out for an emergency visit during a heavy rain storm, as my sump battery had malfunctioned. They were prompt, professional, friendly, and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend. Acy was very thorough and took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel as if I was their only customer. Will use them again for sure! read more

I have original Trusty Warns back up installed by the previous owner. The main pump was also theirs and simply wasn't strong enough because there is plenty of underground water in the subdivision. Every major rain, the back up would go off with its annoying noise, mostly deep at night. I found this guy after two annual maintenance visits from the TW. He changed both, the back up pump and the main one. I haven't heard the back noise since. And his rate is more than fair. read more

No Show!!!! I scheduled an estimate to have a backup sump pump installed 10 days ago. Low and behold, no one showed up....I called the office to see what was going on and the polite woman told me she couldn't reach the technician. She also told me it was a "secondary" technician and things should be better when the boss is back in town. Of course it makes me wonder why I was scheduled with a "secondary" person and also how a company can so so so unreliable and lack courtesy. I'm sure once they do the work they are fine, but this is the peak of POOR customer service. read more

Acey was incredibly helpful in explaining the issue with our sump pump and ended up saving us a lot of money. He's extremely knowledgeable and quickly got to the root cause of our problem. I'm always grateful to find a company that truly wants to help vs. others that just try to up-sell. They will be my go-to for any further sump pump issues. read more

When my sump pump suddenly failed one morning, Sump Pump Medic was the only company that offered to come by that same day. Acey is a thorough professional, that knows what he's doing. Within an hour, he was able to quickly diagnose the cause of the sump pump failure (bad switch), offer sound recommendations, and replace and test the sump pump. He also provided me with excellent maintenance tips. They work later hours which is nice because you don't have take off work to schedule an appointment. Highly recommended for sump pump maintenance issues. read more

I chose Sump Pump Medic for regular maintenance of our pumps and backup systems due to favorable reviews online. The service was thorough, efficient, and reasonably priced. Sump Pump Medic has experience with Trusty Warns systems -- but charges a fraction of what Trusty Warns does. Acey Sell was a pleasure to deal with and clearly knows what he is doing. After having my basement flood for the second time I was desperate to find a reputable company to come into my house, evaluate my current situation, and make a reasonable recommendation for a solution. After researching the big name waterproofing companies (and seeing their poor reviews) I came across Sump Pump Medic. I am very happy that I chose Acey to work on my house. He knows his stuff, does great work, cleans up when he leaves, is available at any time, and will stand behind his work. What more can you ask for? I would recommend Sump Pump Medic every time. read more

Acey was professional, clean and worth every penny! Highly endorsed.

Acey came over very quickly and was extremely professional. Very knowledgeable about sump pump systems, made some good suggestions about improving drainage as well. Replaced my pump, didn't try to oversell me, but had a good inventory of storm pros. All in all a great experience and I would recommend him again. Charged me $85/hr labor, no service charge for coming out. read more

I had the sump pump medic guys come out and add a sump pump lid and perform a foundation crack repair. Recently had my sump pump replaced because it had failed. Called Sump Pump Medic for the job. Heather was very helpful and scheduled me in sooner than the initial appointment available.....Great! Casey came out and tested my old sump pump, which started to work with out a problem. He said it seemed fine and that there were no real issues. The sump pump was 12 years old so I figured it was just a matter of time so I chose to replace it. Plus, I didn't want to worry that it could fail again given the typical lifespan. I asked Casey for a quote, which he gave me. Gave the OK and an hour or so later I was all wrapped up with a new, larger installed ejector pump. I'm happy with the quality of work done, materials, and all manner of professionalism. I will be calling again in the summer to have them check an additional pump. read more

Our sump pump wouldn't stop running shortly after we moved into our "new to us" home last summer. Ace came out and adjusted the sump bobber and it started running correctly again. I elected to replace the pump for fear it would stop working and flood the basement. I also replaced our backup battery as it was dead. Ace cleaned the inside of the sump, the area around it and replaced the cover with a sealed cover to help cut down on radon at my request. I wish all home repair technicians were as honest and affordable as Sump Pump Medic. The only thing Ace said I was in need of was a new back up battery and never did I feel up sold. Now if only I could have had him do our home remodel I might have a few less gray hairs! read more

Acey did a terrific job. Today (it is a Sunday) my wife noticed that we had some backup in the shower downstairs. Turned out to be a sump pump issue. On a non business day and with no appointment, Acey was at our house in less than 2 hours ready to address our issue. He was thorough, professional and his work was very high quality. His prices were reasonable (for an emergency) and he solved the problem quickly. I highly recommend Sump Pump Medic. We will bring him back for periodic inspections. read more

Acey was great. Considerate, informative, patient, friendly. Very professional. He took the time to explain all options for my situation. He installed a new pump in an efficient manner and stayed to test it a few times until I felt comfortable. Definitely recommend. read more

We had a sump pump ejecting directly outside the house into a buried flexible hose. The problem was the area the hose was going would saturate the area it was going to and then the water would just spill out right next to the house so the sump pump was running non-stop re-pumping the same water out over and over. Acey came out checked out the entire layout of the existing system. He gave us several options to work with. Once we chose the solution we wanted, he came back out and installed. He did a fantastic job, the water pumps to a free area, so the pump only pumps the water once so we almost never hear it pumping anymore. The quote was spot on. Funny story, after install was finished, when he checked the system, the water pumped up and out, there is an air valve that kind of gurgles as the water drains and Acey says,'Listen to that!" It's like he was hearing angels sing. You can't get any better than this guy. read more

Acey is the best- Called for an appointment on Friday and he was here on Monday at 8:00Am as promised. He is very knowledgeable. Took us thru step by step checked everything. No return visit needed as he had the replacement batteries on the truck and installed them. I wouldn't hesitate to call again in a heart beat if needed. read more

Our main pump went down on us and Acey came out in the middle of the night to switch out the pump. He was quick, professional and despite it being past midnight, willing to hang around to give us a quote on some system upgrades our house desperately needs. The guy could have ripped us off as we nearly flooded after tonight's huge storm, but he didn't. Will recommend this guy to anyone needing some honest help with waterproofing or sump needs. read more

Acey provided a solution that stopped us from flooding. We had been through several plumbers and pumps and continued to flood. When the only solution others were offering included expensive construction to dig an additional pit, Acey recommended a higher throughput pump others said didn't exist for a pit our size. He really took time to explain his solution and installed a piggyback pump so we have a backup in the event of our initial pump failing. When we had the heaviest rain in decades during summer 2011, we stayed perfectly dry. I would hire Acey again in an instant and highly recommend him. read more

I left a message on Sunday afternoon, received a call back from Acey Sunday night and Ryan was in my basement at 10am Monday. He gave me a complete explanation of how my sump pump system worked, what was wrong and what my options were. He did it all in terminology that made sense to me. In about an hour he replaced one pump, serviced another and checked out the third one. I highly recommend these guys! read more

I have a sewage grinder pump installed on my property by Metropolitan Industries. The system was acting up and I was referred to Sump Pump Medic by Metroplitan. I will use their services again if the need arises (which I hope it doesnt though!) read more

Really like Acey. He seems honest and thorough. Have had him by twice for regular check-ups, and will continue the practice.

We had Sump Pump medics put in a sump pump back up system about a year and a half ago because our basement sometimes got water. This spring and summer of 2015 has been so very wet with constant rain and today an enormous storm. Absolutely dry basement. They were professional and helpful and did great work. They also came with a coupon for us to get money off the work, and pointed it out and made sure I used it. Five stars all around! read more
