I needed something close to where we were, and my daughter wanted sushi and this place was right around the corner. We started with a couple of appetizers takoyaki and spicy edamame. Both were very good. After that my wife and daughter three rolls. A salmon skin and two other one that I can not remember the names of. But what I do know is I tried two of them and they were both excellent. As for me I had spicy undon noodles with chicken. I got it very spicy! It was hot but not hot to the point where it was difficult to eat. It was also very good. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Ok Sumo! I just love how my yelpie besties never steer me wrong! Sumo Asian kitchen offers such a nice environment for any occasion. Its decor is playful and eclectic and just brings a smile. I wish the actual restaurant was more visible to the public. It's a bit hidden behind construction I enjoyed everything we tried here. My notable favorites were the bao buns, ramen and sushi. The ramen has a rich broth made with amor. The sushi was fresh and so picture worthy. The bao buns made my husband order more The boba was not good. The tea yes, the boba was too tough. We will be back for sure

We had an event at the University across the street and luckily Yelp identified this excellent choice. Sumo Asian Kitchen has a cute, casual, very clean, modern interior and friendly efficient service. They don't serve alcohol but you can BYOB and there's a liquor store in the same strip mall as the restaurant. The menu is huge. Of note we had the Volcano Prawn Teppan, one of the Chef's specials. The sauce was unbelievably flavorful and the prawns were huge and perfectly cooked. I will return to try more of the curries and other Chef's specials b/c s/he clearly knows how to cook. Highly recommend this little gem

We needed a quick dinner before catching a show, and this place was perfect. The food came out fast, and our server was incredibly friendly--she walked us through the specialties and offered great recommendations. The cozy décor added to the experience, and every dish was flavorful and delicious. The Stuffed Tuna with truffle appetizer was outstanding, and the Hokkaido Roll was just as impressive. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite Asian restaurants in this area. They have amazing quality for all dishes. The sushi is always fresh, the bao buns are soft/flavorful , the meat dishes come out on sizzling hot plates. It has so many options if you like Asian food and even have some traditional Filipino dishes like sisig The service depends on how busy they are but the servers are always informative and helpful.

Super cute place to hang out and order some great food. Casual, clean and great service. Ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer. They came out quick. They were crunchy and came with a great sauce. The prawns are one of their specialties so I decided to order them. I am so glad I did. Super fresh, they came out on a sizzling plate. Beautifully presented. They were delicious. No liquor license but they have some awesome mocktails and the best boba teas! I ordered the Lychee lemonade omg, still thinking about it. In fact, I will probably go back for one today. Definitely support this small business. It's so worth it!!!

Came on a Friday night around 8:30 and got a table right away. It was a bit busy inside but we ordered an app and our sushi rolls. It took more than 30 mins for us to get our edamame and the restaurant was emptying out. So it was a tad bit frustrating but it came out hot and fresh. Maybe 10 mins later we got our sushi! The food was great. Presentation was also really cool. I would come again and give it a shot for the service and wait time. Our waitress was really nice though. It's a cool spot!

This is my girlfriend and I'd new comfort food spot. It was our second time here and we have yet to have had a bad experience. My girlfriend ordered her pad Thai with medium spice but it ended up being too spicy for our taste buds, and they replaced it with no issues and VERY quickly. Service is always lovely and we enjoy the ambiance of the space. Menu has all kinds of options like ramen, sushi, fried rice and more, so there's always something for everyone in your party. We're very happy with this new restaurant and will be going back to try more ASAP!

My second time here and it doesn't disappoint! Started with the Bulgogi Bao Bun, and enjoyed the One Piece Roll and a JB Roll. The service is just as good as the first time! Our server is attentive, made great recommendations, and patient with our little one. The aesthetic and ambiance is something to enjoy. The music selection is great and the neon signs are my favorite touch in this place. Then we finished it off with the Basque Burnt Ube Cheesecake I will definitely be back!

I'm back months later to reiterate that Sumo has one of the best lunch deals in the city. This diy bento box, plus a drink for $20. It's fulfilling, fresh and tasty. What more can you ask for!

Delicious and cute sushi spot! My bf and I I came for lunch today and we loved it! The restaurant is decorated with Japanese artwork and signs. Our server was really nice along with who I think was the manager who came to check on us. Our food tasted so good and sushi was fresh. The portions are good size to share. The ultraman roll was so fire! I can't wait to come back and try their ramen. I love that this sushi spot is less than 10 min away from me. Definitely worth a try and will be back soon!

It opened not too long ago and it was on my list to visit and I am glad I did. It's a cute cozy restaurant and the food is amazing as well as the atmosphere! presentation of their sushi and mocktails above all. We first had to try their mocktails we went for the Pink Dragon: Dry dragon fruit with soda, lychee juice, lime juice, and rose flower. Garnish with mint leaves and ice. Appetizers, we tried: Takoyaki Fried octopus cake ball drizzled with mayo and katsu sauce topped with bonito flakes and scallions. and Jumbo Shrimp Shumai Steamed shrimp dumplings and scallions served with dumpling sauce. For dinner main, we tried their Tonkotsu Ramen Creamy pork bone reduction, cha shu pork, egg noodles, sweet corn, soft-boiled egg, mushroom, bamboo shoots, fish cake, scallion, and nori. (It can be subbed with other protein options). we also tried Volcano Roll California roll with cream cheese topped with baked seafood, masago, scallions, and sesame seeds./ Basic Roll with Scallion and Salmon. For Dessert, we had the Basque Burnt Ube Cheesecake. Everything was amazing the service and attention given were topnotch. I will return as their menu has so many options to choose from making it hard to decide. They have outside seating and plenty of parking in the plaza.

I've never heard of this restaurant, nor did I read any reviews prior to ordering…read more I placed an order via Grubhub today, and I was a bit impressed, mainly for the flavors. Everything arrived within 40 min, still hot. I ordered a ramen broth, an order of tempura shrimp along with the spicy yaki udon. The udon was not spicy at all, but very delicious. Not sure why it's referred to as "spicy", there was not a single sight of red or green chilies. I would have loved for it to have a kick of spice, but nevertheless, still delicious. The appetizer shrimp a fail, they did feel a bit chewy/ rubbery, and dry. This was not my favorite. The hot ramen broth was soothing and on a cool day like today, well worth it. I wish that my order had arrived with chopsticks, or some type of utensils. None were provided, not even napkins. And I was a little disappointed that no sauces were provided, not even for the noodles. Often times some oriental places will provide siracha or some type of chill sauce. Perhaps this places does not offer those condiments? I wish that I could have given this a 4, even 5 star, but ordering from a food service one would hope the meal arrived with at least chopsticks, or some napkins. If I visit the restaurant in person, I'll be sure to update my review then.

The menu offers a wide variety of food and drinks. I tried a poke bowl to go, and was amazed at the very large assortment of options for toppings as well as sauces. I got salmon and tuna with a bunch of different toppings! They have large ordering screens to customize the orders on too which is great! They are always fresh and delicious. "'Total $h!t show" somehow still feels too generous…read more We came in for lunch today after seeing this place on my inKind app, genuinely excited to try something new. We were greeted promptly, which I'll give them credit for--but it felt less like hospitality and more like everyone was collectively participating in a low-energy dress rehearsal of what service might look like. We attempted to order at the kiosk, only to discover (after waiting, of course) that if you're paying with inKind, you must order with a cashier. This crucial detail is revealed only by a tiny sign on the kiosk itself--so naturally, you find out after committing to the wrong line. A simple sign at the entrance would solve this, but that would deprive future guests of the scavenger hunt experience. At the register, things really began to blossom. I mentioned using a birthday reward for free wok rice. This required a consultation with a manager, who advised entering my phone number--confidence was high, clarity was not. We proceeded. We then played a quick round of "Will we receive cups today?" (spoiler: almost no), followed by "Spot the Incorrect Charge" on the receipt. The wok rice was indeed charged. When I pointed it out, I was assured it had been deducted--despite basic math suggesting otherwise. At this point, I trusted my calculator more than the system. Next stop: the soda machine. Or rather, the soda crime scene. Drinks tasted... experimental. One nozzle was missing entirely, resulting in a surprise splash feature. It felt less like self-serve and more like a trust exercise. To her credit, the employee helping us was kind--clearly trying, but significantly undertrained. She offered a bottled drink as a solution, which I accepted as a peace treaty. Just as we sat down--hopeful, fragile, naive--the manager summoned me back to the register. I declined, citing a strong desire to finally eat food. They insisted. So back I went. Now a third employee entered the storyline, unaware of what was happening, asking me to recount the entire saga like I was submitting evidence in a trial. The manager stood nearby, contributing mainly vibes. At this point, I was informed that rewards cannot be used with inKind--information that would have been spectacularly useful before we attempted to use one, consulted a manager, and completed the transaction. The refund process itself was a masterpiece of confusion. At one point, I was asked if we had eaten the wok rice. We had not. Then someone else asked if we had eaten noodles. A different employee confidently stated that I was, in fact, currently eating it. I paused to consider whether I had entered an alternate reality. Eventually, refunds were issued. I returned to the table to eat what can only be described as a very modest $15 sushi roll. But the experience was not yet complete. An employee clearing a nearby table wiped toward us, launching food debris in our direction like a finale. At this stage, I genuinely scanned the room for hidden cameras. It felt less like dining and more like immersive theater. Throughout all of this, the manager appeared largely disengaged--occasionally present, frequently on her phone, and consistently uninvolved. Leadership was notably absent, which unfortunately explained everything else. We will not be returning. Not out of anger, but out of a deep respect for our own sanity.
