This was a special event, and the dinner menu is not quite yet solidified, but I want to a) talk about the delicious food, b) the beauty of the inn, and c) the hospitable and friendly staff at the Inn/Restaurant. The Inn itself is beautiful and historic. It's located in the heart of downtown Winston, but has its own parking lot which is a huge plus. Our dinner was in a reserved room on a Friday evening. It was a great room for our group of about 11-12. Our waiter, Gary, was THE BEST! He had a radiant personality, and was super attentive! The chefs (Kelly and Juan) came out to talk to us and were a pleasure. The food! I can't wait for this to be a constant menu at the restaurant! We had Fried Green Tomatoes, Mandarin and Goat Cheese Walnut Salad, Braised Short Rib over polenta dish, and Crème Brûlée cheesecake. YUM! And the drinks were very unique and delicious. I am so looking forward to another trip back to Founder's! I absolutely can't wait to try brunch!

Much of the architecture was kept in tact from the original era and they've restored it back to all its beauty. We recently stopped by the restaurant inside for brunch and everything was delicious! Walking around the house and seeing the many intricate fireplaces, woodwork, and windows and doors made me want to plan a staycation there. Can't wait to check out their rooms and amenities soon!

This is more than a B&B. A Mighty Oak is a state of mind. My wife and I love the stately aura of…read morerich historical design in a completely modern structure. I mean, we didn't hear one squeak in any floorboard! Talkin' rustic and solid - a wonderful combination. This Inn has impeccable cleanliness and tasteful décor of every room. We came with another couple who are regular guests at B&B's all over the USA. They were decisively impressed. We came for the nearby Yadkin Valley wineries but found simply hanging out at A Mighty Oak to be quite pleasant. We sat on rocking chairs on the 2nd floor covered porch as we read or just talked as the stars emerged in the sky. Then we ascended to the 3rd floor for games (ping-pong, board games, TV sports) and reviewed the substantial bookcase. Of course, a huge facet of any B&B is the proprietor. We all recognize a passion for excellence when we experience one. It's there in spades with Todd, showing up in attentiveness to our needs and a pleasant, playful grace about him and his wife Lisa. And we saw his excellence in that 2nd "B" in B&B. We're talking as close to farm-to-table as it gets since the B&B's rear acreage is home to cows, chicken and plants. And, uh FYI, no smell in the air. Match freshness with culinary excellence and you've got an Rx for memorable breakfasts. I mean, I had never had a Scottish Egg and can't wait to see what Todd has up his sleeve next time! A passion for excellence shows up in every aspect of a business, but when it's a B&B, it can become quite special since they're sort of personal - I mean one actually lives there albeit for one or two nights. A Mighty Oak is indeed one special place. We will definitely return for our Mighty Oak state-of-mind fix!!

The Zevely Inn has that look and feel and staying here made me feel like I was a resident of a living museum - such a special thing. If you've ever been to a place like, say, Williamsburg, and you wanted to know what it felt like to be one of those folks, living right in that environment - you should check out the Zevely Inn. I had the Winter Kitchen rooms with 4-poster bed and fireplace - just beautiful. Sat on the porch outside to have a beer in the evening, overlooking the lovely back yard covered with leaves, and the cool old houses next door. Can't wait to stay here again.

The innkeeper, Sherry, is one of the rudest people I have ever met. It just blows my mind that she is allowed to serve in the hospitality industry, because there is nothing about her that makes you feel welcome or appreciated as a guest and paying customer at the inn. This inn is a real treasure and it is a shame that it is being represented with such a negative presence.

From the moment you walk through the door, you are welcomed by some of the friendliest, most accommodating, and genuinely lovely people imaginable. There was never a moment where they didn't go out of their way to help make our stay comfortable and memorable. Ray, especially, was exceptional. He was there every day making sure everything was perfect and continually went above and beyond to make our stay feel special and personal. The Manor itself is absolutely charming -- creative, warm, and filled with character. Everywhere you looked was a feast for the eyes, with thoughtful details and beautiful touches throughout. Now that my niece has graduated, we technically have no reason to visit High Point anymore -- but honestly, a return trip would be worth it just for another stay at the Manor. It felt less like staying somewhere and more like being part of something truly special.

Delicious chocolates greeted me upon arrival in my room, and tasty granola bars that appeared to be hand-made were provided to grab on my way out. So many little touches like that made Pandora's exceptional, and I wish that beautiful Manor another hundred years!

The home is cute and up to date in the small little town of Madison. It is the perfect location to their Main Street where our friends wedding was. The couple that own the home are so friendly and overly accommodating. They went out of their way to make our few hours there perfect. We arrived early in the morning so we could see the town and do a little shopping. Our room was ready by 10:30 when we called. We were greeted by three friendly cocker spaniels, who get to roam the house freely which should be noted if you aren't a dog person or are allergic but we didn't mind. We had the opportunity to choose the room we wanted (I am totally blanking on names right now) and we're offered the larger bathroom since we needed to get ready for a wedding. We decided on our original room for the space. Everything was clean and had that "mommas house" smell. The one where the linens are freshly pressed and the towels are hot out of the dryer. We made some small talk and were offered a tray of water and some fresh fruit! We were also given food advice as we were starving from our drive and we ended up at Fuzzys bbq. Her husband, John, was just as accommodating. He offered coffee, bottled water and several snacks for our trip home! They were so kind and I highly suggest supporting this couples BnB. If we ever get the chance to go back we def will!

I asked where they placed the Christmas tree, as this cozy, inviting place would be perfect around the holidays. Turns out, they place several trees. Also, would consider a late spring/summer stay as there is a beautiful backyard with in-ground pool. Look forward to future stays.

Charming B&B that I would recommend if you want to stay in a home-style environment with personal attention, great conversation, snacks, drinks and above par b/fast to fill you up.
