    Hotel room

We have stayed at this Inn many times. It is a small business and does not have all the amenities of a big hotel but it is clean, safe and the owner and staff are very helpful and accommodating. We have enjoyed our stays and have not had any problems.

The owner was so nice & did everything to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms are clean & you have everything you need for an overnight stay. The continental breakfast is all you need to get you on your way. We will be making this our stop on our yearly trip to the beach. Very reasonable rates.

I booked through Expedia and the reservation hadn't come through over an hour later. The owner wouldn't let us just go our room while we waited. I had just drove over 7 hours and it was hot. My son and husband were in the car. I understand that the issue was Expedia and not the hotels fault but how about some hospitality, it's not like he wouldn't know where to find us. He did say he upgraded us to a 2 queen bedroom instead of 2 full/dbls for having to wait. (After he told me I should have booked direct and that he may be sold out of rooms by the time it came through and that maybe I should cancel it and go elsewhere.) I honestly couldn't tell you what the difference was. Either way the room was fine. It was clean and comfortable. I think it was pretty expensive for the type of hotel but I didn't see anything much cheaper in the direct area. We were just tired and that's where we happened to get off the highway. We stayed somewhere else on our return trip for half the price. If you don't need to stay in that area I would find somewhere cheaper.

This is a nicely remodeled motel, clean rooms and the owner is very nice and helpful. 10/10 would stay again if in the area.

During our stay, Courtyard High Point met the standard I expected of the Courtyard brand. We stayed in Room 419 on the 4th floor (top floor). It had a king bed and a sofa bed. For four nights, I spent 82,654 United Airlines MileagePlus award miles (cleared out my account) plus $419.96. I booked through United's website / United Hotels. I found this hotel through United because I was trying to use up all my miles. As an American Express Platinum card member, I have Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status without meeting any stay requirements. That said, I didn't notice nor took advantage of any of the Gold Elite benefits. I was supposed to receive a "welcome gift of points upon arrival" (none were posted to my account, which I had linked to the reservation), late checkout up to 2pm (didn't need it), and a complimentary upgrade to an enhanced room at check-in (didn't happen); subject to availability. Standard check-in and check-out times are 3pm and 12pm, respectively. As a Gold Elite, I'm also supposed to get faster free in-room Wi-Fi. I didn't get that either. I just connected to the standard free Wi-Fi, which was fine / usable, but I would've preferred faster internet. I called the hotel ahead of time to verify details and spoke with Toni. She was wonderful. Super nice and a shining example of excellent hospitality and customer service. Courtyard High Point is lucky to have her. The other staff that we interacted with were polite and professional. Our room was very spacious. It had an unusually long and wide entry area / hallway leading to the bed and sitting area; ideal for spreading out our luggage. We had a view of the old Oak Hollow Mall and parking lot. Part of the mall we could see is now the Roy B Culler Jr Senior Center, named after the former mayor of High Point. I went to his house when I was a kid and saw his elaborate model train set, but I digress. The bathroom was spacious as well. Outstanding shower water pressure. We had a microwave, mini fridge, and Keurig machine. Unfortunately, there was no free coffee in the lobby so we had to rely on Keurig coffee each morning (not our preferred coffee). Bummer. A lot of hotels in this tier offer fresh, hot, free coffee in the lobby. Cleaning service was every other day. There was one day when I had to go downstairs and ask for more Keurig K-Cup pods. By the way, for really good coffee in High Point, I recommend DeBeen Espresso: https://www.yelp.com/biz/debeen-espresso-high-point During our stay, we went there for coffee too. The couch (sofa bed) in our room looked dingy and grossed us out a bit. I liked the bed and thought it was pretty comfy, but it wasn't the comfiest among hotel beds we've slept in recently. My wife said it was lumpy. The nightstand USB and power outlets didn't stick well, so they didn't work reliably and charge all of our devices (kind of annoying to charge a phone on the desk on the other side of the room). Overall, the room amenities were OK. According to Travel Weekly, this hotel was built in 2003 and was last renovated in 2011. https://www.travelweekly.com/Hotels/High-Point-NC/Courtyard-High-Point-p51804414 In general, from the indoor pool to the nicely landscaped outdoor seating area in the back, I thought the property looked reasonably well kept. My wife commented that it was dated and looked mid-2000s. Oak Hollow Mall officially closed on March 10, 2017 and was a shell of its former self before then. Therefore, the immediate area around the hotel is very quiet. The nearby Target is a plus. I remember when the High Point University building next door used to be a Circuit City. Since 2022, Courtyard by Marriott High Point has been a Certified Autism Center, supporting the city's "ongoing efforts as a Certified Autism Destination." https://www.instagram.com/p/DLC-Ll-PRCO/

My company puts us up at the Hampton for every Market so I've stayed here several times. The hotel staff is ALWAYS top notch, the rooms are very clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast options are awesome! You even get a "good morning" from the wonderful kitchen staff. This particular visit bumps this place up to 6 stars in my book: 1. I had a last minute print job for a meeting in the morning that I wasn't going to be able to take care of. I explained the situation to the girl at the front desk. She took my file, printed my 70 copies and had them ready for me the next morning!! No worries! No they don't really offer business support but they do when you're in a bind. Thank you!! 2. My roommate lost her beloved diamond earring and didn't notice until she arrived home. It could have been anywhere in the town of High Point! She checked the car, the showroom and lastly called the Hampton. The front desk clerk informed her that no one had turned in an earring, nor had the cleaning staff found one in the room she had checked out of earlier that morning. Needless to say my friend was crushed. A couple of hours later, the hotel called her back. They had actually opened the vacuum bag from the vacuum used in our room and found the earring!!!! Can you believe it? Who does that!? I believe in humanity again! Hampton Inn, your staff is wonderful!! Kudos to you! See you next Market!

I came home one night during our stay to find a 6" worm next to my bed. Alive. I disposed of it but when I mentioned that I was concerned about more coming in (falling from the ceiling for example), I was brushed off "it happens". During that same stay my in-room refrigerator froze and exploded all contents. Response: shrug. I decided to give them another try a year later for a 9 night stay. I specifically asked about making changes to my reservation and was told fine, with in 24 hours. Now when I want to cut my stay by one night I was told NO. You have to pay. Terrible, terrible customer service for a very mediocre property. i will never return. And advise all comers to avoid.

From the moment you walk through the door, you are welcomed by some of the friendliest, most accommodating, and genuinely lovely people imaginable. There was never a moment where they didn't go out of their way to help make our stay comfortable and memorable. Ray, especially, was exceptional. He was there every day making sure everything was perfect and continually went above and beyond to make our stay feel special and personal. The Manor itself is absolutely charming -- creative, warm, and filled with character. Everywhere you looked was a feast for the eyes, with thoughtful details and beautiful touches throughout. Now that my niece has graduated, we technically have no reason to visit High Point anymore -- but honestly, a return trip would be worth it just for another stay at the Manor. It felt less like staying somewhere and more like being part of something truly special.

The sound of the pretty fountain out front and of finches and other birds around the grounds is transportive as is the lobby's wallpaper, the loveliest textured bird pattern. Delicious chocolates greeted me upon arrival in my room, and tasty granola bars that appeared to be hand-made were provided to grab on my way out. So many little touches like that made Pandora's exceptional, and I wish that beautiful Manor another hundred years!
