I only write reviews for extraordinary service, or horrible experiences. This one happens to be in regards to a very bad experience me and my partner had with Mr. Charlie Galvati. So for starters a little demographic information about myself and my partner. We're both African Americans, in or mid and late 20's. We own a trucking company based out of Texas, I also work in furniture sales to bring in some extra income while the trucks are running... so needless to say our finances are definitely in order. However in our dealings with Charlie, the owner of Summit Leasing Group, it seems like everything except the important thing were taken into consideration. Things like our race.... sexuality.... age. So about a week or two ago we set up an appointment to view a home with Charlie. We met up, my partner and I were interested in the house so we asked about the application process. We were then informed that the owner wanted to show the home until a certain day and from there he'd pick the best applicant. Ok perfect. We wait until the day we were told and nothing so we figured we'd wait a day or two before we called for an update. In the meantime we found another home in the high desert called scheduled the appointment and it just so happened to be that Charlie managed this property as well. We all get to the house and at this point Charlie knows all of our details. The vibe we got from him was very uncomfortable. So towards the end of the showing we asked about the other property and if there had been any progress with our application. He said yes and left us with an awkward silence. Further in the conversation we asked about the new property we were currently at. Charlie told us he had a good family who wanted to rent. He emphasized that they had a lot of money and wanted to pay rent for the entire year, but that he was most likely going to deny the application because they were of Asian decent and couldn't speak English. So fast forward to the end of the visit. We were given another date to wait for where we'd receive an answer on both properties. Fast forward to the date, we give Charlie a call for him to let us know that "They want more options". So we asked what that meant, you know, are we not qualified? We were told that "that wasn't the case he just wants more options." So in all the whole experience with Mr. Charlie get EXTREMELY discriminatory. Whether it's because of our nationality, sexuality, or age, I don't know. However I do know that it sucks to have everything in order on paper and then to be turned down for reasons out of our control isn't acceptable. Especially after being the best applicant and being told the best applicant would be chosen. read more
