They were able to get us a same-day appointment, which we honestly didn't expect during a busy holiday weekend and heat wave. We also have a baby at home and were starting to worry about his room getting too warm, so getting everything fixed quickly was a huge relief. Our technician, Alex, was awesome. Super friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and very thorough the whole time. He even wore protective boot covers inside the house, which we really appreciated. Alex quickly figured out the issue and explained that our capacitor had failed, so power wasn't properly reaching the condenser. He walked us through everything in a way that was easy to understand and showed us exactly what was going on. Once we approved the repair, he replaced the part quickly and kept running additional checks to make sure everything was working properly. He checked the refrigerant levels, made sure both cooling zones were working correctly, and even came inside to measure the temperature difference between the return and supply vents to confirm the system was cooling like it should. Overall, we were really happy with the experience and would absolutely recommend both Chronus and Alex specifically. When I phoned them they mentioned they don't come down as far as the East Bay, but told me they would find out who did service the Bay Area from the manufacturers rep who was on leave at the time. True to their word they phoned me a week later with the information. I'm impressed that they took the time to phone me (thankyou Wade for your call) and made the effort to find the information I needed, when they had nothing to gain. This is service at its best, and I'll make sure I'll always recommend them to friends who live in their area.

When I first called the quote was $89 diagnostic and they told me if a repair was needed the $89 would go to my repair if a repair was needed. After telling them what type of heater/AC unit I had, they said my heater unit was complex, and that the diagnostic would be $250 and if any repair were needed the $250 would not contribute to the cost of the repair. $250 is quite expensive to have a guy come out and diagnose a problem. Especially in the beginning of the phone call I was quoted with $89 and it went all the way up to $250. I asked them what if it was a simple problem, would they still charge me $250? The guy on the phone told me if it is simple why are you calling us? Very rude. Instead of giving this greedy company my money, I took the time and actually was able to fix the error code on my heater on my own, so in fact if Kendrick, it would have been a huge waste of money. There are a lot of repair companies out there, Kendrick customer service is quite rude, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I asked about cleaning the AC condenser coil as well and was told that i would only receive a quote when a free estimate was provided on site. they had amazing availability and were able to come out in 30 minutes on the same day. When HVAC service person arrived, he quickly stated that thermostat install would be $110 each and ac condenser coil cleaning would be $150. He said if I didn't want service, then there would be a fee for onsite estimate. I quickly let him know this wouldn't fly and I only invited his company to my house based on the dispatchers quote. He quickly agreed to honor the quote given by the dispatcher. In order to avoid calling another company in for the AC condenser cleaning. i agreed to that service as well. The thermostats were installed easily in the same prior locations of the old thermostats. One was screwed into a weak area in the drywall and thus only held in place by one screw. I didn't notice on install, but was obvious and should have been noted by technician. Th AC Condenser cleaning took a total of 10 min. He vacuumed the inside ,sprayed it with a hose and sprayed something that looked like 409 cleaner in it. That service was definitely not worth $150 dollars Overall very average experience. Work was done promptly and timely. Hated having to repeatedly negotiate prices that were already promised. Given an extra star ( thus 3 star review) due to prompt same day availability and friendly service rep who acknowledged his need to sell additional services including an service maintenance package.

I had to let tech come earlier but felt slow on task- only found switch not working. Felt it was Appropriate pricing for diagnosing our house fan = $79. I Was told they have to check if the kind of switch we have is available. Then gave me an estimate of $395 to change the "faulty switch" for quietcool. But $79 diagnostic fee go towards the $395. Thankfully, I got a 2nd opinion from a coworker's husband who is an electrician and researched some more online about the estimate. TOO STEEP! The switch is only $35-50 in home depot. I understand we all need to make a living but dayyyyyym.
