I'm extremely disappointed in Summers' service practices. On two separate occasions, servicemen advised my older female relatives to replace or upgrade furnace and AC units that were less than ten years old and functioning properly. In both cases, the recommendations felt unnecessary and overly aggressive. This pattern is deeply concerning. It comes across as taking advantage of elderly customers who may not feel comfortable questioning a technician's claims or seeking a second opinion. No reputable company should be pushing costly upgrades without clear, verifiable justification--especially not to vulnerable customers. Shame on Summers for what appears to be predatory behavior. I would strongly urge anyone, particularly older homeowners and their families, to get a second opinion before agreeing to any major repairs or replacements recommended by this company. read more

I am from out of state and needed a new garbage disposal installed, Summers responded quickly and was able to get to the condo for the repair the next day. Then the bill came. For a Badger 5 1/2 horse disposal installed.....$830.00!!! The same unit on amazon is $117, Summers charges $700 to install? Thats one heck of a charge for one hours work. NEVER USE FOR OIL FURNACE SERVICE. We have an old Thermo pride furnace, never had problems when maintenance was performed by our usual guy. He retired, we called Summers. Given a quote of $69 for maintenance on the furnace. Total price when done was $469!!! Service man said $400 for a new filter and spray nozzle! Google online and filter is $50-70 and nozzle $20. Also when "bleeding" the line he let oil run on the basement floor and didn't clean it up! Whole house smelled like oil. Multiple calls made before someone called back. Manager said that price was in line with what was done, what a joke! Didn't say anything or apologize about the oil on the floor. Never use them read more

Be prepared for the up charge! I reached out to Summers for a basement project quote. Their initial quote said that they would require at least a full day for the job. The price that was quoted seemed a bit high to start with and before I had an opportunity to discuss the absolute lack of details... literally the quote was the boat basic description and a price written onto a piece of paper and handed to me... They quickly pulled out their flip book of "added items" that they could provide me with. Laughably it included their own extended warranty... so if I pay the already high price I get a shorter warranty than if I agree to pay an even higher price? Additionally their extended warranty included "quicker appointment scheduling". So people that don't pay extra get to be ignored for longer? This whole process felt more like a shake down than anything else. Additionally the job was described in illusive and vague terms as to why the price was so high. Unfortunately for them, they never asked why I was calling them to begin with. I'm more than capable of doing the job myself but at the time I had other more pressing priorities and I needed this done for me. Ultimately I ended up calling another local plumber and he came out same day, completed the job in 3 hours, but a full day, and did it for 40% less without the hassle of trying to upsell his own work. He also said that he'd be happy to come back out if any issues came up in the next year at no cost. I am leaving this review as 3-star because I am giving them credit for being decent plumbers despite being miserable salesman. Leave the upselling for the fast food drive thru and restaurants. Quote and honest and competitive price and stand by your work.... do force people to pay more for what you should be doing anyways. read more

We had a plumbing emergency and were so thankful for Sky at Summers for coming out and fixing it. He was able to come out to our place really quickly despite it being a holiday evening. UPDATE - they removed the equipment and gave me a refund These people took advantage of me and my situation. I should've known better but my air conditioner quit working and had to be replaced. I called Summers because of their positive reviews and now know how important it is to leave factual reviews. They charged me $21,445 for an air conditioner, a furnace and labor to install. They even used the existing ductwork. They made it sound like this pricing is normal. It's not. They said that every customer sees the same options and price list. They took advantage of my situation and my lack of knowledge. They are the professionals but they cannot be trusted to be honest. They will not provide me an itemized receipt because they know they are THIEVES! DO NOT TRUST THEM! Please learn from my mistake! read more

Regarding Summers Plumbing - at first I was impressed with the way they could meet my needs with a plumbing crisis quickly even though the pricing was crazy expensive. I did it, and had relief from my plumbing crisis for TWO weeks...it happened again. I called them back, expecting them to make it right, but NOOOOO, they charged me again, not as much, but still overpriced. I called to complain, but they still did not make it right. Then, the plumbing crisis happened AGAIN....I had the same thing happen three times, in a span of five weeks. I called my regular plumbing guy that could make it, his schedule is extremely filled (I wonder why, probably fixing all the problems that Summers makes!!) came to the rescue, and I am confident that it will be fixed right this time. I called summers plumping they came out and told me they could not fix my issue because they do not have a jetter to clean out pipes. My home cannot use a jetter because I do not have an out of door clean out. Asked for a refund because they did no work and gave bad advice. Still have not received a call back about the refund it been weeks. read more

SCAM, beware! I paid over $800 for a garbage disposal replacement after being told by phone the unit they were installing retailed for $563. I have the recorded phone call to prove it. Turns out, the unit only costs about $100. I have been ignored, avoided, not called back by Summers for 7 months now while I attempt to resolve this. I don't even have my receipt from them yet! After being disrespected by phone today I have given up on them. I submitted a BBB complaint and am taking it to small claims court. Save your money and your frustration. Zach did a great job of explaining the issues of our aging furnace and, upon request, of comparing newer models carried by Summers. After selecting a new and improved model, which was already in stock, we were able to schedule the installation just two days later. The installation team of Adam, Tanner, and Jacob provided friendly, thorough and efficient service. They took time to answer questions and review features and their check-up policy and still finished the job ahead of schedule. I forgot one of the first rules of supply and demand. The one that says once you pay for something in advance... like a maintenance agreement... you become the LAST priority for service. Over a 6 week wait just to have routine maintenance. It is clear this company is preying on consumers who initiate these kinds of contracts. Their website says "free estimate" but I called to have them quote a broken pipe and they wanted $89 JUST TO LOOK AT IT! That's not how free quotes work! Why would I give them a penny before any work was completed at an agreed upon price? The phone rep said the free estimates are only for equipment, which is totally different than what the website states in plain English. Summers, you are shady and won't be getting my business. Had to call on Sunday because our furnace went out. Mack came out to the house. He was very professional and upfront about pricing, repairs, maintenance, etc. He diagnosed the problem, explained everything thoroughly, and set a time for Monday to come back with parts. On Monday he arrived in a snow storm earlier than he stated and had the furnace up and running. Once it was running he performed a thorough check. He was professional and courteous. When I moved here from California a year and a half ago, Summers replaced my HVAC system in my new home and I went on their maintenance plan. Today Chris came by to do my annual checkup and water heater flush. Summers has been wonderful to deal with and Chris was particularly helpful. I am completely inexperienced with owning my own home and Chris explained what he was doing, why he was doing it and what the results would be so that I could understand all this new stuff I need to deal with. After doing an online search for a local authorized service agent for my tankless water heater, Summers popped up. When I first called on a Tuesday afternoon, they seemed very professional. They said they would have someone here Wednesday morning. They then called back late Tuesday afternoon saying that they have several "emergencies" tomorrow and asked if they could come out Wednesday afternoon between 4 and 6. I reluctantly agreed. I had been without hot water since Saturday, what would a few more hours be. Wednesday 6:00 passes and no calls. About 7:15, I get a call and the technician says he can come over now. When he arrived and assessed the situation, he made a recommendation of switching out my electric tankless water heater for a gas tankless. It all made sense. Then he quoted me over $4500 for the whole job, which included tapping into the gas line and roof venting. This seemed really high, but I reluctantly went with it. He said he could have it and install Friday morning because they had a full schedule for Thursday. When I found out that a similar water heater costs about $1050, that meant installation was about $3000!! I called them back on Thursday and asked what it would cost for labor to have them install the unit if I bought it. They told me about $975. Even though that sounded very high for a job that was supposed to take about 4-5 hours, I agreed. So Friday morning rolls around and I am expecting my new water heater installed in a few hours. The technician calls me and says the owner changed his mind and told him he would not let him do it because they would not take the liability on a unit that they didn't sell. If you are looking for a friendly company that doesn't care about your time, doesn't keep their word, and has no qualms about charging you outlandish rates, try them. Took 45 minutes to do a 410.00 job. The guy changed out two small pc pipes and put on shut off valves. Looked at the pipe in the shower. After we cut a huge hole in the wall. When the guy was done I asked him why so much. Hi response was well it cost for us to have these new trucks for us to get piss tested for our training 3 times a week gas materials paying this that. Ok so you've gotta charge a person 100.00 for every 10 minutes or so your working on there home. Hmmmm nope I do not ever recommend them to anyone.
