I had a very, very old furnace and A.C unit; it was from the 1970's. I have had a local company come out and "tune up" both units numerous times with a price of approximately $300.00 each time for the past 4 years. It just so happened this past June, our furnace officially broke. As a result, I called our "usual company" that had been servicing the units for years. That company didn't show me in person what was wrong with the furnace; they just showed me a picture. I decided it would be best to replace the unit at this point, however their financing options were horrible. The temperature outside was around 98 and very humid, like all Indiana summers are, so I called JL Anderson and spoke with Kurt. He was at our house within the hour to inspect the furnace. Kurt confirmed the unit needed to be replaced. He explained the financing options; they were reasonable, affordable, and easy. Everyone at JL Anderson Heating & Cooling was wonderful! Since I didn't have any A.C, Kurt and the ladies in the office attempted to ensure my family was comfortable by offering fans and window units until the new unit could be installed. Although we had to wait 2 weeks for the new unit to come in, JL Anderson Heating & Cooling worked quickly and kept us informed of any changes. When the furnace arrived, Kurt and the other workers were very polite, clean, and professional. They even replaced some of the attic vents that were ripped! That night I noticed that the air wasn't getting colder in my house. Though it didn't have anything to do with the furnace, I called JL Anderson first thing the next morning. They quickly sent Jacob out that afternoon. Jacob noticed right away that something was not right. He checked the line, the pressure, assessed it, and continued to be baffled by what it could be. Jacob didn't rush though; he didn't want to leave until the problem was taken care of. It was late, I am sure he was suppose to be off work, but he remained professional and polite the whole time. Eventually, he took the A.C. unit cover off and immediately realized what the problem was. The original company (who had replaced the motor and fan, as well as come out multiple times to service the unit) put the motor and fan in backwards 4 years ago! Therefore, for the past 4 years I have been spending a lot of money trying to keep my house cool, though unsuccessfully, due to a huge installation error made by that company! Needless to say, I was more than a little angry to discover I had been repeatedly paying to fix their mistake! However, I was also extremely happy that I finally had a working A.C. unit in my house after all these years! I was ready to write a check for whatever they asked, but Jacob looked at me and said, "Don't worry about it." What company does that? JL Anderson Heating & Cooling actually values their customers so much they waived some fees for me since I had just hired them for a furnace replacement, but was still having issues with my other unit! Replaced 18yr old furnace and A/C unit New Equipment -XV95 gas furnace -Trane XL18i a/c unit -Trane XL850 WiFi thermostat -Honeywell 4" whole house air filter -Whole house humidifier Additional Service -flushed tank-less water heater Joe Kollman came to the house and explained the various components and advantages for each that pertained to my situation. He went through the costs, options and Trane financing. I did not purchase the new system at this time. I never felt pressured to purchase or hurry my decision. After several emails I decided what I needed and set up a time that was convenient. Joe arrived the morning of the installation and introduced Kirt and his apprentice Brent who did the demolition of the old furnace and installation of the new unit. Both were very professional and paid good attention to detail. Kirt was especially meticulous and answered all my questions. During the installation they found a major problem that was not visible until the system was removed. The old duct-work has rusted out under the down-flow furnace. It was filled with a least 6" of dirt and rock from under the concrete. Normally they would have had the furnace running by the end of the day but the rock removal and fabrication of new duct work moved that to the next day. Since it was in the low 30's that night, Kirt made sure that all the connections to gas fireplace were reconnected so I had a heat source. The next day they finished the furnace and the a/c. They did a really nice job of running my vent and air return through the roof. The a/c unit had to be slightly relocated due to it's larger size. The electrical and piping look very good and the patch to the siding from the old a/c unit was nicely done. All the areas looked cleaner than when they started. When Joe came back after the installation he went through any setup and did an explanation of the components of the new system. He would have explained the setup of the thermostat but I had already programmed it. At this point we went through the financing. We were able to pay for part of it with a credit card and the rest was financed through Wells Fargo on their 60 month no-interest promo. Joe had already registered the new unit with Trane and finalized all the information about the Vectren/Duke rebates. He also mailed these forms in. Our house recently reached the 20+ year mark and we came to the realization that we could no longer nurse our current furnace and A/C through another Indiana summer and winter. Our neighbors had used JL Anderson and had a positive experience with them so we asked JL to provide us a quote. Joe was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and was able to provide us recommendations on a system that would fit our needs without breaking our budget. The whole quote experience was not high pressure and a thorough evaluation of our home was performed. Joe also remained in contact in the time between accepting the quote and installing the equipment so that we were kept updated on the progress without being caught off guard at the last minute. The installation was estimated to take 2 days, and on the hottest two days of the summer thus far. However, the team that performed the install stated that we would have A/C by the end of the first day and they lived up to their promise. In fact, they more than lived up to their promise as the entire system was able to be installed and completed in one day! We could not be happier and are thrilled with the system. The only complaint that I had, and it is very petty, was that for the first few days, I was freezing in the house chalked it up to the new A/C being more powerful than the old one. 5 stars is simply not enough for this company. We went away for two nights, and came home to a destroyed house -- all three floors were flooded from a cracked toilet on the top floor. Our air ducts filled with water and literally fell out of the ceiling. Our house was over 100* with all of the water mitigation equipment running 24/7 for 4 weeks. I called 3 different HVAC companies for estimates. JL Anderson came out the same day as my call (and other companies were making me wait over 2 weeks for an estimate!). Their customer service is AMAZING all around, from the people who answer the calls and text messages, to the actual technicians who come out. I was lucky to have Kirt Bunch come out two times to give a complete estimate (once right away, and another after all of the flooded drywall was removed). While he was there for an estimate, Kirt adjusted several things for me to try and keep the house as cool as possible until they could come out and redo all of the duct work. Fast forward to 1 month after the initial flood -- and our HVAC and duct work was repaired in one day! Nothing else in the house is even close to being fixed, but thanks to JL Anderson and their amazing crew, our house will stay cool all summer during repairs. My wife and I are remodeling our home in Brookston Indiana prior to moving back from Kentucky. We needed a new HVAC unit and contacted Anderson Heating and Cooling to get a quote on a trane unit. Joe Kollman met me at the house and provided a quote for two separate units that he felt would work in our home. He also explained the pros and cons of both units. Joe also provided assistance in getting approval for special financing that was available for the unit we selected. It took about two weeks to get the equipment and have it installed. I am an Assistant Pastor at Charity Baptist Church in Lafayette and we had to have some work done on our multiple units throughout the church. Just so you know, our building is REALLY old and the wiring and such is horrible. The service tech (Jared) who services all of our units did a great job of identifying and explaining the ones we were having problems with, and then giving us a cost efficient solution to fixing those problems. We honestly are incredibly happy with the service that he provided, and will definitely be using Anderson in the future for our HVAC needs. Big thank you to JL Anderson and the fantastic tech you sent us last year. Being new to the area, we had called a competitor in 2018 to repair our AC which had stopped cooling. Their tech performed the bare minimum to get our system running and suggested we purchase an entire new system instead of testing for the leak. When our AC stopped cooling a year later (2019) we called JL. Your tech not only found the source of a refrigerant leak, he also uncovered an important sensor (TX bulb temp) was detached. Your tech replaced the leaking valve, reattached the sensor and recharged the refrigerant for the same price as your competitor. We just had the system tested again (2020) and there is no sign of leaks; the system is cooling just as well as the day you repaired it. Anderson H&C provided great service. We worked through Lowes to purchase and arrange the entire thing, and it was painless and simple. The pricing structure was comparable to a number of other estimates I had received over the past year, but going through Lowes allowed me to get a small discount (military). Joe from the company came out and provided great information to us and helped walk us through the multiple selections for the furnace and the AC unit. Joe was great also by providing us all the documents for receiving rebates...it was all bundled and organized and highlighted. We just signed and submitted. The service was outstanding, the products (furnace and AC unit) are of very high quality and the potential savings through rebates ($950) was a big selling point for us. We're also told that our electric and gas bills will be cut nearly in half ($$$). The upfront cost is a bit intimidating, but I've done the math and we will make all of that money back (and then start making money) in 6 1/2 years. I have met 6 or 7 employees of Anderson and all of them were outstanding representatives of their company. I would highly recommend Anderson, as they will do it right and they will do it with YOU (the customer) in mind. I purchased a heating and cooling system from J L HEATING and COOLING on June 19, 2018. Haven't had much time to rate everything yet, but I can tell you this. It's doing a great job of keeping my house right where I set it 73 degrees and we have had some 90's and expect about 7 or more starting today. So far very satisfied. I had a service call for my blower motor not working. The tech, Mike, arrived within the hour. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. I asked and added the summer/winter tune-ups, which gave me a discount on the overall call. I asked some questions which he answered directly, including a couple personal ones. Mike has been doing this for 40+ years, but now only works Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
