Very disappointed. It's probably because I'm a local and remember when Long Lake was nice but I was not impressed. The atmosphere and location is good...The food not so much. I guess they know their customer but I'm not it. I don't want brunch until 1:00. This is northern Wisconsin.... NOT Minnesota. I had a decent burger...the only option that wasn't breakfast. My husband ordered his medium and you could have used it to anchor the boat. Go for the view. Have a cocktail. You will probably love it if you aren't someone who remembers what lake places used to be. read more

Cheese curds over cooked, nachos had this white creamy sauce with corn and was horrible. Onion rings were good. And they don't serve pizza. Which I thought was weird for a restaurant on the lake. Service was good and restaurant was nice. Would not go there again because of the food. read more

I have been to Summers on Long five times. Although the view is awesome, food and drinks above average for the area there is a striking difference between the service provided outside and inside. I have eaten inside two times. The service both times has been solid. I have eaten outside and each time the service has been between bad and terrible with being slow, having to get up to find our own silverware, go inside to the bar to obtain drinks, never asked how our meal is, etc... The servers, although probably understaffed, are busy also serving drinks from the outside bar, flirting with customers or just plain disappear for long periods. read more

Looked for a place to stop on our way north. Had fish tacos and shrimp skews. Very tasty. Service was fast. Beautiful setting even in March. Fog was coming in across the lake. read more

We came here for drinks. This is a great setting along the lake and the boat launch. This would be an easy place to spend the whole day. Great service wonderful selection of drinks and food. While we didn't order food, what we saw looked fantastic. read more

Nice view of Long Lake if you get the right table (which we did). This was our first visit here since it used to be Prop's. Service was a 2, fish was a 3, burger was a 4. We arrived at 4:30 and were the only ones in the dining room. Our waitress Peyton just gave us the regular menu; I asked about Friday specials and she said they had fish. She eventually brought our drinks, left and took her time coming back to take our orders. Later she dropped our food (burger ordered medium with fries, deep fried fish with loaded baked potato) and skittered off to what we later assumed was Narnia . . . no tartar sauce was on the plate or table--a huge crime for fish fry Friday. We waited. And waited. And waited. Watched our waitress lounge up by the kitchen. The younger male waiter that later-arriving neighboring tables had was far better: personality, handed them the Friday specials menu, came back to check on refills, asked how the food was, etc.). My mom actually went up to try and get tartar sauce from our waitress and was ignored, but thankfully the competent male waiter gave her some. How was the burger? Nice, grilled & smokey flavor but it was well-done instead of medium. The fries were crispy and had a nice seasoning. The fish was dry, a sentiment shared by the neighboring table, and bland. The dinner roll and coleslaw were bland. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in the service. There wasn't a manager on the floor, the waitress was incompetent, had to wait and then hunt down our own tartar sauce, never had anyone ask how the food was or offer us water or get us another drink from the bar. Oh boy. Beautiful views, nice decor and layout was good. Due to all the hard surfaces (nothing to absorb sound), the noise level is VERY loud. Very basic food options. Most bland mac n cheese Ive ever had. My burger was dry and burned. We were very disappointed with our server. First, ingredients were forgot for my partners burger. He never stopped back to see how we were doing and we ran out of waters/drinks. Had to get his attention, dispite him passjng us often and it being pretty slow. We ask for more water. He takes each cup, mixes them all up, proceeds to fill them, then sets them at the corner of our table and says nothing. And no, he didnt get new cups or even straws. He contaminated our cups/drinks, switched all our drinks up and then didnt know whose was whose, and left to it us to determine. so unsanitary!! Then my partner had a heaping pile of fries left when the server brought the bill and he doesnt even ask if he needs a box. He should have used a pitcher to pour more waters and check-in on us more. Poor training/service. Unsanitary procedures. Bland and burnt food. read more

First time since they opened as summers.. what a great place! We showed up around noon. Not too many people but within about 30 minutes the place was rockin'. 3 or 4 boats pulled up since they have 10 docks, watercrafts too. The place really filled up. The views through the windows and especially from our table on the outside deck were stunning. Such a beautiful place. We just got burgers and fries and they were delicious. They use high quality meat I can tell and the fries were nice and crisp too. It took a while to get our food but with a view like that, we didn't care. It's not a fast food place but if you want a great experience I highly recommend this place. read more

We normally love this place. We showed up Wednesday with a party of 8 for lunch. Closed. Goggling the restaurant says opens at 11 Wednesday. While we were there two more groups showed up. A group of friends and I spent a fabulous evening at Summers on Long and had the best time! The service was incredible - extremely attentive waitress who took our drink orders and and immediately came back with our drinks. The appetizers were amazing - wings that were juicy and flavorful and the best cheese curds ever- LOVE the dill! The pulled pork and chicken tenders were beyond delicious - super flavorful and brought out really quickly. Overall, the ambiance and atmosphere were fantastic - great for date night or family gatherings with fantastic service and excellent pricing. I can't wait to come back! read more

Short version: No manager on duty. No senior staff in charge. Kitchen far behind, not communicating to wait staff. Wait staff vastly undertrained. Wait staffnot communicating to customer kitchen is behind. Wait staff ignoring/not checking on table during the long wait. Here's what happened: Arriving the parking lot was nearly full so we expected a wait for a table. We actually got a table right away. The wait staff took the drink order & appetizer order right away. Received drinks, except the bar order - because when we asked the wait staff, Lily, she forgot to enter it. Received the appetizer. Forgot plates, napkins & silverware. Received the bar order. Ordered the meals, six dinners. Finished the appetizer. Waiting. Placed another bar order for 1 drink. Received bar order. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. We were not told the kitchen was running behind. We could see it was busy so we were trying to be patient. The view of the lake is beautiful. Waiting. All drinks are empty. Waiting. Wait staff Lily is not checking in with us to see if we need more drinks and is definitely not communicating that the kitchen is behind. Waiting. Waiting. I ask a different wait staff to please send our wait staff Lily over. Don't know if that wait staff ever told Lily because she came to clear the empty table next to us. I turn around and say "excuse me, could you check on our food?" Wait staff Lily says yes BUT instead fills and brings water to a table outside. We watch her go out with the water then come inside only to go directly back to clear the table next to us. I turn around again, "Excuse me, can you check on our food?" Wait staff Lily says yes then casually walks away. Waiting. Wait staff Lily comes over and says our food is coming up "right now". We now ask for a manager. She said there isn't a manager there. No manager. No one in charge. No senior, well seasoned staff even acting as manager for the night. She then goes to sit in the back corner with 2 other wait staff. And we're waiting again. Finally the food comes out. At this point Lily finally says sorry about the wait. Ok but we ask again to talk to a manager. They sent over a young bartender, not the manager, but unfortunately for him he's the one chosen to talk with us. He says "we can do 10 or 20 percent off." At this point it's too little too late. We suggest that they use the 10-20% to put towards management and training. Obviously the kitchen was having trouble keeping up. Obviously wait staff needs more training. Lily had no hustle, no common customer service skills, no friendliness, no copping skills, no urgency, little to no training. And you absolutely need to have management on site. With our bill, it's timestamp was 5:48pm, order food came out at 7:20pm. That's outrageous to have to wait 1 1/2 hours without any communication. read more
