My personal favourites were the hummus and tabouli, balila, spinach triangles (with spinach from Eddie's own garden) and the stuffed vine leaves (which I don't usually enjoy but these were so good)! Our host for the evening Eddie (yes, THE Eddie) was humble, attentive, and had such a passion for homestyle cooking. At the end of the meal instead of bringing out the Lebanese coffee they took coffee orders, that meant people naturally asked for lattes and cappuccinos and not realizing that there was already included coffee. Then there was no baklava brought out as they thought we had enough sweets (we brought cake and another sweet), not very complimentary :/ With that said, fairly minor things that I would just make sure to avoid if I went again. The food can be simply described as simple and extremely tasty. My go-to dish here is always the mix plate which consists of kebab, tika and chicken tika (a plate is enough to share for two), all meats grilled over a coal barbeque and complimentary salad/pickles and of course Iraqi bread (which is similar to Lebanese bread but a bit thicker and more filling). I love eating the meat with the delicious Middle Eastern chilli sauce that's provided as a condiment on every table. I can't fault this place, every time I go I'm never disappointed. The lamb shanks were so tender and flavorful as were the chicken and lamb tika, the waiter was correct in saying we had enough food as we couldnt finish it. I have never had iraqi cuisine before but I would say this place is pretty authentic. I feel like they dont have to be overly nice to customers because the food speaks for itself, or maybe it's just their way and custom, I did note that there were no females working there, just cranky men.
