My personal favourites were the hummus and tabouli, balila, spinach triangles (with spinach from Eddie's own garden) and the stuffed vine leaves (which I don't usually enjoy but these were so good)! Our host for the evening Eddie (yes, THE Eddie) was humble, attentive, and had such a passion for homestyle cooking. I highly recommend giving Eddie's Vegan Eatery a visit if you live near the St George area of Sydney. From the starters all the way to the baklava and tea at the end, it was a divine experience.

All of the food we've eaten is very fresh, the banquet is good value and the platter for 2 for smaller groups also offers a good variety. The a la carte menu offers all of the usual lebanese cuisine, the serving sizes are generous and I think the prices are fair for what they offer. We arrived at 9:30pm and the place was packed, yet we never felt like the staff forgot we were there. The service and the servers were great. That's a good sign. The food - holy crap the dips must have been pureed angels and blessed by a God - they were fantastic. I'm no a fan of babaganoush but I will trample anyone that stands between me and the stuff they serve here. The meat - lamb that is happy to crawl in your mouth and melt into your stomach, beef that has one job in life - to make you happy. I wanted more and more and more but my stomach said 'one more bite and I'll shove it all out again'. I don't smoke, and people that smoke need their heads examined, but the smell of the flavoured tobacco they sell to smoke at their tables was really nice. The cosy restaurant is BYO, with a small corkage fee per person. Parking is an issue, because Eastable is located on the perpetually busy, King George's Rd. He took one bite of the falafel before the manager came over as his mixed plate had come out. We were rather confused as to why he was given the wrong plate - and instead of just replacing the falafel and giving the plate to the person on our table that ordered it, the manager then rather rudely I might add, tells us that we will be paying for that plate of food as well as my partner's original order - while he took the plate back to the kitchen. Apparently, it wasn't his problem if we accepted the wrong food. It's akin to saying you ordered it. He wouldn't listen to anything we were saying since the table was all of our family we didn't care if he just got a new falafel and we passed the plate down a few chairs, he just keeps yelling that it's not his fault and we will be paying extra for the plate of food (we didn't pay extra for what it's worth). I wouldn't mind such rude crap service if the food was decent. But it wasn't. The meat was rather bland and not seasoned.
