Tonight I had the pleasure of eating some of the best Lebanese food I've ever eaten!…read more We ordered the Vegetarian Banquet (made vegan) to share and I missed getting photos of most of it because we got into it so quickly, so here's the one shot I took of the night. My personal favourites were the hummus and tabouli, balila, spinach triangles (with spinach from Eddie's own garden) and the stuffed vine leaves (which I don't usually enjoy but these were so good)! Our host for the evening Eddie (yes, THE Eddie) was humble, attentive, and had such a passion for homestyle cooking. I highly recommend giving Eddie's Vegan Eatery a visit if you live near the St George area of Sydney. From the starters all the way to the baklava and tea at the end, it was a divine experience.

The food and service is fantastic. Eddie's Lebanese Eatery is a very welcome addition to Mortdale's…read morelittle strip on Morts Road. You'll notice that as soon as you arrive you're warmly greeted by Eddy and his staff who are very attentive. All of the food we've eaten is very fresh, the banquet is good value and the platter for 2 for smaller groups also offers a good variety. The a la carte menu offers all of the usual lebanese cuisine, the serving sizes are generous and I think the prices are fair for what they offer. We've been many times and have also gone in large groups and the food has always been consistent. Make sure you finish the meal with some lebanese coffee and a sweet!

This is only my opinion. The food was fabulous, so tasty and yes I would order again but not sure…read moreif I will order through Menulog. I put my order through Menulog at 3.15pm as I was at work. I set the delivery for 7.15pm as I had people coming over. I thought, even if they get here 7.30 yeah, it's ok. Well, I get an update at 7.18 to say delivery is now 7.44, ok then. So I call the restaurant. He says the food has been sitting here since 7pm and there has been no assigned driver. We call Menulog, they can't do much and offer us $10, wow, this won't even get me spring rolls but anyways I accept. The driver gets here 7.37pm, knocks, leaves the bags on the floor and goes. All good there if he doesn't want to make contact but the bag was wet! Aaahhh the bag that contained the chips and the pastries were soaking wet. I thought maybe I'll try to salvage them by putting them in the oven. Nope, not the same. C'mon chips are meant to be eaten when they are hot. I've had chips delivered on many ocassions and believe me my kids loved it and they are the first to whinge when something isn't their way. The meat we put in the oven and that was nice. Now, let's get to the salad, this is something the restaurant should not be doing. I ordered a Fatoush salad which is so delicious but I just think when it is meant for take away the fried Lebanese bread should not, I repeat, should not be added onto the salad and lid closed, by the time it reachd me, it was soggy like porridge. The fried bread in my opinion should always be put in a seperate container, hell put it in a doggy bad, sandwhich bag, I don't care.

We went here for my cousins birthday. We had a table of about 17 people…read more The first arrival was fine, we were shown our seats, the restaurant is brightly lit with some space and a whole bunch of space outside for hookah smokers. We started to hit problems once our food started to come out. I ordered something from the menu but had no idea how to pronounce it. The waitress was trying to give me an order and I wasn't sure it was meant to be mine, I ordered the lamb sticks with onion & capsicum - silly me I thought they would come out with some salad or some rice. But they didn't. They came out on their own, with the onion and capsicum on the sticks with the lamb. For $23. Ok, whatever you say. But then my partner ordered the mixed plate and the waitress came over and gave him a plate that we assumed was the mixed plate. He took one bite of the falafel before the manager came over as his mixed plate had come out. We were rather confused as to why he was given the wrong plate - and instead of just replacing the falafel and giving the plate to the person on our table that ordered it, the manager then rather rudely I might add, tells us that we will be paying for that plate of food as well as my partner's original order - while he took the plate back to the kitchen. Apparently, it wasn't his problem if we accepted the wrong food. It's akin to saying you ordered it. He wouldn't listen to anything we were saying since the table was all of our family we didn't care if he just got a new falafel and we passed the plate down a few chairs, he just keeps yelling that it's not his fault and we will be paying extra for the plate of food (we didn't pay extra for what it's worth). I wouldn't mind such rude crap service if the food was decent. But it wasn't. The meat was rather bland and not seasoned. The hummus and various dips were not what I would call enticing, the fact that we only dipped once into each dip and left everything should be a flag to the owners of the place, but with such a rude manager I'm pretty sure they don't care. Suffice to say this totally spoilt our entire parties food experience. Also, I thought smoking around children was banned? Because there were quite a few families outside on the smoking balcony with children in prams and hookah smoke wafting straight into their faces. I found the whole thing rather disturbing. So if you are ever in the area. Give this place a miss.
