We've been coming here for years, but "here" has moved. Our family went to the one on Bridge forever. Today we needed supper and this was fairly handy. Newer, feels bigger and brighter. Mostly the same menu, though I don't remember egg rolls and bourbon chicken and was tempted by them. I went with a Sumburger, subbed onion rings for a surcharge. Good burger, nothing amazing, but nostalgic, meaty, decent bun and toppings, and I like their sauce. Sweetie got a junior burger and liked it. Kid K got mac and fries. Looks like pretty standard boxed mac but she said it tasted much better. Big serving, and plenty of crinkle-cut fries. She liked them, and the strawberry pie she craved (only available in-season.) Made to order so we waited about 10 minutes. Seemed expensive but what isn't nowadays? Great service at the counter, and at the pickup window when I got the food plus when I went up for boxes for leftovers. Easy parking. I worked in Chillicothe back in the 1980's and a co-worker suggested we go to Sumburger for lunch and I remembered it was a good burger joint. We happened to find ourselves in town last week and decided to try it. It's in a new location than before. We found it to be very clean and relatively new. I got the double cheeseburger and it was very good. It's unique in it reminded me of a BigMac only way better with lots more meat. They cook them to order so it's hot and fresh when served. Chilli was cold and tasted like tomato soup. Grilled cheese was soggy!! They nickel and dime you for everything!! 20 cents for an ice water ? 99 cents to sub cottage cheese !! I stopped here for lunch with a friend on Friday. He is a local, and had always raved about this place, so I was excited. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. I ordered the signature Sum Burger with everything but tomato, and this seemed to really confuse the cashier. I had to explain what I meant a few times after he read back the toppings. I guess customers don't go off-script too much. The burger was decent enough, but the lettuce and onions amounted to just a few small pieces of each, and the bun tasted like warmed-over-stale. I enjoy crinkle fries, and theirs were good, but my soda was mostly ice. On a positive note the place was very clean, and the staff was friendly. read more

I stopped in today, Jan 8, 2025, looking forward to getting a milkshake along with my Ham and Swiss deluxe sandwich. However, I was told that they do not serve any ice cream products during the winter months because it is too cold during the winter time. I, and another customer, commented that ice cream was good year-round, and the other customer stated that it was like saying you will not be serving coffee during the summer because it is too hot to serve it. I was hungry, so I ordered my above sandwich. After I sat down, I remembered the girl at the register did not ask me what I wanted on my sandwich. So I went back up and asked if she could request that they put pickles and mayo on my sandwich. When I got my food, it was a grilled cheese sandwich with American cheese and a little ham with pickles and mayo. I showed it to her and then asked for the manager. I showed the manager, and she told me that she would refund my money, which she did. I am just saying that since you have on your sign outside for ice cream, you need to have ice cream year-round read more

I was very pleased with my meal here. This isn't your typical chain restaurant food. I had the Double Sumburger plater which was really good. You can tell they cook each order fresh as they receive, which is a pleasant change to other fast food restaurants. The only downside was there was no ice cream available at our stop, but I'm sure that will eventually change. Glad we stopped and will again when returning to the area. read more

Been going to Sumburger since the 70s. Although this new location is not as nostalgic it's still a great burger and fries. We drove an hour to taste the special hamburger. Never been disappointed. read more

Our family of four ate here. My son ordered a double Sumbuger Platter without lettuce. They put shredded lettuce in it which would be impossible to take off. Also it was saturated with their "Sumburger Sauce.". The whole nostalgia of Sumburger is lost at this location. When you come in, you walk up the counter to order then given a buzzer for when your food is done. At the original location, you order at your call or your table on the phone and they bring it out. They offer a side salad and chef salad but other than that the majority of the food is fried. read more

The same menu, prices, and great food as the original Sumburger; now with a modern twist with this new second location. No more cramped booths and no more sitting at multiple separate booths because you have a party of more than 4 people! There are both booths and tables that can be put together in this spacious restaurant. You order when you walk in at the front counter and then they give you a buzzer that will go off when your food is ready; which you will pick up at the pick up window to the left of where you order. Came here with my daughter's soccer team one Saturday. The restaurant knew we were coming and prepared a section of the restaurant for us. However, only one person taking orders. Half of the team was done eating before the other half of the team even got to place their order. Very poor management. Food was not bad. Burger was disappointing and fries were tasty. Poorly ran! Stopped by 3 times in 9 days trying to get food there and EVERY TIME their doors were locked and they shut the lights off AS SOON as I pulled up or walked to the door. Once I arrived 30 minutes before close, once was an hour before close and once was an hour and 15/20 minutes at least. I called each and every time they NEVER answer their phone! There is NO excuse. Really, really good meat in their burgers. Rich and beefy; great texture. Very delicious sauce. Add pickle and onion to their burger.

This restaurant has a very clean and great atmosphere. The food is great. The only reasons I have it 4 stars is its set up like fast food. For the price your paying and your not getting served. Also if I have to get my own drink refills I have to ask someone behind the counter to get it for me. Why can't there be a pop machine where I can walk up to and get my own drink. One other thing is there's no napkins on the table. They give you one with a double Sumburger platter. Lol read more
