We stopped by Crazy Dogs Grill on the way from Columbus to Shawnee State Park. We were met with a warm welcome and were given the run down of the menu. There were so many different hot dog creations to choose from! We decided to go with The ER, Cowboy Dog and Polish Boy. I would come back to try some other ones! It's conveniently located right off of 23. I recommend stopping by if you are passing through or in the area. read more

Crazy Dogs Grill - Patio -- The ER, Cowboy Dog, Polish Boy - Hot Dogs Near Me - Chillicothe, Ohio

Stopped in for lunch. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and the hubs for the WV Dog (chili, slaw, mustard, and onion), and onion rings. My burger was decent. However, the top bun was a little hard like it was stale. My hubs said his hotdog was good, just really messy. It appears they put their hotdogs on hoagie buns instead of hotdog buns. It is a bit pricy for what we orders ($27.84). The music was extremely loud to enjoy eating inside. It was clean and they cleaned each table after guests left. Staff was friendly. read more

We stopped in at Crazy Dog Grill in Chillicothe today and I'm so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, Debbie, who couldn't have been more welcoming. She took the time to walk us through the menu and even shared how she cashed in her retirement to follow her dream of owning this place. You can tell her heart is in every bite. The menu covers all the good stuff--burgers, fried bologna, chicken tenders--but as the name suggests, the real stars are the loaded hot dogs. They start with a big locally sourced 6-to-1 all-beef dog and then pile on some wild toppings. I went with the Mactastic Dog--two strips of grilled bacon, creamy housemade mac & cheese, and a drizzle of sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, all on a perfectly steamed bun. Absolute perfection. I also couldn't resist trying the Bologna Coney, which was a thick grilled slice of bologna (cut in half) topped with Debbie's "almost famous" homemade coney sauce, a hit of stadium mustard, diced onions, and a generous handful of shredded cheese. I made it a combo with fries and a drink, and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Slaw Dog and loved every bite. As a former chef, I've got a soft spot for simple food done right--and that's exactly what Crazy Dog Grill delivers. The place itself has a fun, casual vibe with tables on two levels and some great classic rock playing in the background. If you're anywhere near Chillicothe, run, don't walk to Crazy Dog Grill. Ask for Debbie's "almost famous" coney sauce (I'm trying to make it officially famous!), and if you're a mac and cheese lover--trust me--get the Mactastic Dog. You'll thank me later. Tell Debbie Brian and Candi said hello!! read more

I ordered the Jr. Slaw dog which is a regular size hotdog with brown mustard and a heaping amount of slaw. My side was the in house made chips. They were fresh and crisp. My wife and I stopped here while riding our motorcycle and we was pleasantly surprised! This is a hidden gem in my opinion. It's located on north bridge street almost out of town. My wife decided on the southern pork dog and she loved it. It had the right amount of pulled pork bbq sauce coleslaw. I decided on the wild and wonderful all beef hot dog onions yellow mustard homemade coney sauce and coleslaw. And as with my wife's it had the right amount of coney sauce slaw and onions and mustard! The fries were hot and fresh! Service is friendly and fast but they wasn't super busy. Walk up counter for service which is very simple the menu is written on the wall. It's a diner style small but cozy. Had good music playing the whole time we set and ate. All in all a good place to grab a hotdog. 10/10 recommend. read more

Stopped in while in the area for work. Had the scrambler dog with fried mushrooms as a side. The sausage was great and the food came out quickly. Really enjoyed my dinner and will stop again when in the area. read more

This place is the real deal. I was very impressed with the size of the hotdog and how meaty it was. A serious value and if I lived near by, I'd be a frequent customer (I'm from Va and traveling to IN). My hubby and I got the WV dog (Wild and Wonderful) and it's an on-point-legit WV dog. Great bun, it was layered so everything stayed on the bun bite after bite and was very filling. Also got the Buckeye - had super great flavor. The cheese curds were good and the seasoned Crinkle fries good too. I was so impressed again by the size of the hotdog. Yum! read more

Fun casual place, went with some coworkers on a fun weekend trip. The food is great, lots of options, great themed toppings, and great flavor. Fountain Drinks. All for a reasonable price. Right down to the toasted buns. I ordered the Buckeye & The Jersey dogs. One is a brat with peppers, onions, marinara sauce with cheese, the other is an Italian sausage cooked perfectly with bacon, mustard, and pickled onions. read more

This is a destination spot. The specialty dogs on the menu all sounded amazing. I settled on the NYC Street Dog. Good decision. But based on that dog, ALL of them would have been a good decision. Can't wait to return to sit on the patio with a cold beer and a hot dog. Or two!! read more

Place looked run down and no cars in lot. We thought it was closed. But no, at 2p just not busy. At counter greeted pleasantly. Gal showed us board with top 10 hot dog options. There were lots more available. We ordered 2 Chillicothe dogs. Got combo which included fries and drink. The bill came to $28.90! Food was only okay. Server asked if we wanted forks and knives. We said yes. She never returned. So waved down another server and asked. Also asked if we could get a few more onions as not many were on the dog. She said she'd ask. She came back with one fork and knife and a very small container of chopped onions. Really for almost $29 for lunch for 2 you'd expect them not to be so stingy. Anyway we were just passing through so no need to ever return. But for value just get a Costco hot dog and drink for under $2 each!!!!! read more

Couldn't ask for more. The place is SPOTLESS. Super clean. Tons of options for your hot dog (best food on earth, BTW). If they haven't thought of it, you don't need it. Although I'm sure they're open to custom suggestions. We live an hour away, and I look forward to returning soon. read more

We found this place by accident. We were actually on our way to heavenly hot dogs in West Virginia. These were better than those hotdogs . Small place, kind of unassuming. Very clean. You order at the counter where the young lady was very helpful explaining the different types of dogs that you could get. Service was quick. The food was excellent. Tried a couple different kinds of hotdog and they were really good. We will ne back. read more

Amazing! It's not your regular hot dog place. Visiting Chillicothe? Try Crazy Dogs! You won't regret it.

Really nice lady at the front. Not busy so we could sit anywhere. I wish it did have more customers cuz everyone here was really nice! Cheese curds had a cheese pull and was good and the hotdog was filling so over all very good food. read more

Tasty dogs with unique toppings at a fair price. Nice staff also. The building can use some updating but for a hot dog and ice cream place, it's fine. read more

Finally made it here. Locals (like some of my family) love it. Of course, when I'm in town I'm usually eating at one of their houses, so it's always hard to get to restaurants in Chilly. The menu is extensive and interesting. It was hard to choose, but I went with a Cowboy dog and a Buckeye dog, and cheese curds. That was too much (and I went in hungry.) I'd suggest two dogs if you're hungry, or one and a side. The curds were great- good curds, perfectly cooked. Served with your choice of about 20 sauces. I went with sriracha, which was only slightly spicy. First dog was the Buckeye, a brat with cheese, pickled onions, bacon, and mustard. Good brat, perfectly cooked, on a good bun, and the toppings worked together well. All in all, great. Next the Cowboy. A good beef brat, again perfectly cooked and on a good bun. And again bacon (how did I pick two bacon ones? Hm.) Good bacon, meaty with just a bit of fat, a large slice cooked well. The toppings, BBQ sauce and baked beans, worked well together but made it messy to eat (as I expected.) I would go back again. I loved what I got, and want to try many other things. Service was friendly and reasonably fast (it was 6pm on a Saturday, so I expected them to be busy.) Prices are good. Worth a detour. read more

Outstanding variety, and everything is super fresh. The folks are amiable, and the food is delicious and made quickly but without rushing (if you know what I mean). The mushroom swiss dog is amazing and there's a ton more that I've had enjoyed. read more

What a great discovery. I had no idea there was anything like this in the area. I almost didn't stop by this little hole-in-the-wall place today, but I'm so glad that I did. The outside has that old, dilapidated look, then you walk in and everything is very clean and well-maintained. For those of you who know of Tony Packo's in Toledo, you may like the food here even more. There are a LOT more interesting choices and variety here than what Tony Packo's offers. A person could eat here a hundred times and still not have tried every interesting possibility. Lots of fun. Very good pleasure food, very good service, interesting and enjoyable setting. read more

Wife and in-laws stopped in before going to see Tecumseh. Lots of options; good help that offered suggestions based on likes/dislikes. Clean and comfortable. Jersey Dog was great. Lots of onions & peppers...smothered in mozzarella! Fresh bun and tasty sausage! Homemade chips thin and crispy; lots of dipping sauce options! Wife had Bigg Mack. Taste like hamburger by well known franchise but on an all beef dog...surprisingly tasty! Cheese curds crispy and a little spicy. As others noted, skip the usual restaurants and give it a try! read more

I mean...you know what you're in for when you dine at a hot dog restaurant. But that having been said, they have creative dogs and they're quite yummy. My personal favorite is the Chicago dog. They do it justice. It's delish. We Door Dashed our order and the food arrived carefully packaged and well prepared. It's not an every day go-to...cu it's clearly not the healthiest...but it is delicious and well prepared read more

Honestly thought my food was great! This was my first time coming here so at first I was a little overwhelmed with how many choices but I chose the Mactastic, which blew my mind. My fiancé got the Chillicothe Dog and thought it was pretty good. I thought the vibe of the place was great. There was a mix of like 50s and now music playing which was phenomenal. I'll definitely come back again cause as I sat here eating I was already picking menu items I want to try next time. I would love to help make a menu for this place and maybe a flyer because I hadn't heard of this place until a week or two ago. Glad we came(: read more

Great establishment with a relatively small dine-in, but their dogs are inventive and they are always experimenting with new ideas.

Tried this place based on other Yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint. I had the Reuben dog & cheese curds. While the curds were tasty, the dog clearly was the star of the meal. It was an all beef wiener with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese & thousand island dressing. It comes with a pickle on it, but I chose to not eat it. So, so good! The hubby had the Chillicothe dog & the Buckeye dog. While he enjoyed both, he definitely liked the Buckeye better! He ordered a combo, so also got hand-cut fries, which were good! We'll definitely be back. Always happy to frequent a local establishment!! read more
