The place is clean and it has a warm environment, you can expect to be acknowledged the moment you enter the restaurant, we were seated right away, the waitress was nice and friendly, we placed our order and within minutes it was ready I was highly impressed that the 2 owners came to our table to chat with us, they were very friendly, you can taste different BBQ sauces, food was amazing!! The chicken wings were great, my boyfriend loved his chicken sandwich, his mom enjoyed her pork sandwich and I had a brisket sandwich that it was delicious Price is affordable and the experience is great! Beast and Bottle review: the wife and I both started with Pig Candy which is glazed pork belly, words do it no justice. Sweet and tender it just melts in your mouth. My main course was pulled pork with a mix of chipotle apple and honey bbq sauces. This is what smoked meat should taste like! Tender with a great Smokey flavor. Sides were Mac and cheese and a loaded potato salad. Delicious. The prices were very reasonable and the potions large. My wife and I spent $43 for a great meal and brought food home. The only negatives were the place is small so on opening night it was packed and they don't yet have a liquor license so no brew if that's what you're into. Keep in mind all meat is while supplies last. Get there early and enjoy some great authentic bbq! read more

Best restaurant in town, by far! The best burgers, chicken, and smoked meats I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I will definitely miss having this place right around the corner when I move out of town, but I assure you that it is absolutely worth the drive. Ask what the special is because they always have something special in the kitchen that probably isn't yet on the menu, such as the Cubano sandwich or the wet burrito, available on Wednesdays! Absolutely worth a try! Walked in not knowing what to expect and was very hesitant about it. BUT, This is the best burger joint that is worth a drive to eat. The food was absolutely and I mean absolutely amazing. I couldn't recommend it anymore than what I am now. Not only did they have great food but they had the best service I've had. A total wait of maybe 5-10 mins for our food and our server was so nice and friendly!!!! I always try to support local independents when travelling. Yelped up this place and decided to stop. Never been here before and sadly probably won't be again since it's two hours from my house. Food was great. Brisket moist and tender. I had it with NC vinegar sauce but there is a good variety of them. Sweet potato fries are hot and crisp. Skipped the marshmallow fluff which sounded awesome. I'm reducing sugar though :(. Service attentive and friendly. My only regret was no unsweetened tea. I get it. It's southern. read more

I'm from Waverly, and just recently had lunch here for the first time with my parents. They had raged about how wonderful the brisket was. And boy were they right!! The most juicy, well cooked brisket I have ever tasted! It had a nice chat on the outside and sweet, tender inside. It had a wonderful smoked flavor and the Mac and cheese and baked beans were outstanding as well! I have to admit I'm impressed that such a great BBQ place is in my hometown, but I will definitely be back in the future!! read more

Definitely recommend this place; small town, quiet restaurant; the service there was phenomenal. Between the waitresses, and the cook constantly checking on me seeing if I needed a refill. Their brisket sandwich was really good. The waitress let me try all of the barbecue sauces to see which one I liked the best.
