I usually don't write a review but this place is disgusting. I found a bug in a chicken low mein that we order. I took a picture and called the place. I went there and I show the manager the picture. She told me this is not proof that the bug came from them. She told me I should have brought the food with the bug in it for it to believable. I ask her why would I lied about that. I am not looking for free food. I ask for a refund she refuses. finally when she agree to refund the order she slammed the door in my face and told me to never show my face in the store again. This is probably my own fault for ordering Thai food from a combination Asian food restaurant. I ordered the Thai fried rice and shanghai spring roll for lunch. I've never ordered shanghai spring rolls before but I was shocked to find one large roll (There was no description so I googled examples beforehand). The taste was okay, not really anything I'd rave about. The positives for this place were that they delivered faster than estimated (I received my order within 30 minutes, rather than the 60-75 minutes estimate) and their portion sizes were generous. So why did I give them 1 star? This place is definitely not good for Thai food. Thai is one of my favorite foods and I've had different versions of thai fried rice from multiple restaurants. The "Thai Fried rice" I received from them was some combination of Chinese fried rice cooked with some weird tasting oil. It also had peas mixed in, which I've never seen from other Thai restaurants. I ordered through seamless and there was no prompt asking for what kind of protein I wanted. My order ended up having both chicken and shrimp, which was fine with me, but I would still like the option to decide for myself (this could be disastrous for people with a shellfish allergy). There was no description for the order so I had no idea how it would be prepared or what would be included. The chicken tasted rubbery and some of the shrimp weren't properly cleaned. The shrimp didn't taste half bad, but I was a bit disgusted after seeing the uncleaned back. The rice itself was just an absolute no. I don't know what kind of sauce or oil they used to make it, but the whole meal tasted terrible. I could barely take more than 3 bites of this meal and just had to throw it away. I feel disappointed because I was looking forward to eating my Thai fried rice, and instead I just wasted $20 on a disappointing meal. They have Chinese and Japanese food as well so I'm not sure if those options are a lot better. All I can say is that need to remove Thai food from their list of offerings. read more

My girlfriend and I have spent over $1000 at Sultan Wok over the last year. We spent $500 in the last quarter alone. She and I have been ordering from various Sultan Wok locations for literally the last 15 years. Tonight, though, one of the staff at Sultan Wok Princeton called the police to our house over a simple matter of vegetables. On several occasions over the last few months we have ordered Lo Mein with the vegetables on the side. The first time or two, Sultan Wok accommodated our request. The next time, someone called to say that there would be an extra fee for vegetables on the side. This is understandable and we happily paid. Tonight was different. Within minutes of our order someone who claimed to be the owner of Sultan Wok called to say the restaurant could not put vegetables on the side, even at an extra cost. When I told him about our previously filled orders, the "owner" implied this was a lie and that the restaurant has never, and would never put Lo Mein vegetables on the side. I repeated that actually, we have received this order on multiple occasions. The "owner" said, "we don't do that. I don't know why that would happen." Vegetables in themselves are not a big deal, so we agreed to get plain Lo Mein without vegetables.  After the call, though, we were very unhappy with how the "owner" treated us, especially in light of our loyal patronage. Within minutes, we called Sultan Wok to cancel our order. The "owner" said he could not cancel our order because it had already been charged to our credit card.  Of course, this is not true since refunds can be issued at any time. We told him we do not approve the transaction and to refund our order because we will not be accepting the food, but he refused.  45 minutes later, a delivery person arrived with the order we did not want. Of course, we refused to accept the food. A few minutes later, a police officer knocked on our door. As we spoke with the officer, the "owner" stood in our driveway, screaming at another police officer in our driveway. The officer asked him to calm down, but he continued to yell at the officer, demanding we be forced to take the food. After he eventually calmed down, the police left us with the recommendation that we dispute the charges with our credit card. Of course, we did not take the food. Sultan Wok could have easily prevented this situation. Rather than deny that the restaurant has ever filled our order with vegetables on the side, the "owner" could have simply said that maybe other managers agreed to do that, but it's not the policy.  When we were unhappy, he could have offered some small thing like an egg roll as a sign he values our business. He could have agreed to refund our order before wasting his resources making food we would not accept, and taking up his driver's time. Instead, he called the police. Needless to say, we are deeply disappointed and will not be ordering again. read more

Sultan wok refused to cancel an order and then CALLED THE POLICE TO OUR HOUSE when we didn't take the food. My boyfriend and I have spent about $1000 at sultan wok over the last year. $100 in this month alone. Sometimes we order Lo Mein with veggies on the side, usually for an extra charge that we are happy to pay. Today though, the supposed "owner" said that they WOULD NEVER and HAVE NEVER given veggies on the side. When my boyfriend told him, actually yes you have multiple times, the "owner" called him a liar insisting it never happened. Shortly after this we decided to cancel our order, very upset at this treatment particularly given how often we order and how much we spend, but the "owner" claimed he could not cancel it because our card was already charged. 45 minutes later a delivery guy shows up at our door with the order we cancelled. Be very careful because they said their prices change and haven't updated their menu in years. Also the menu doesn't say a 1.50 delivery charge. Fruad at best. Also have to order Chinese from a friend because they banned me because I had a family emergency but thier service was more important and I still got charged afterwards after rejecting their order. Poor costumer service and false advertising on their menu they give you after delivery that the prices match as by law and on your door that they leave you and does not comply as the photo show. We order from this place all the time at work, and I just ordered a shrimp egg roll and hot and sour soup. It was just ok. The shrimp egg roll was a good size and had a good crispy exterior and taste. The soup was moderately spicy and tasted mushroomy and slightly spicy. One of my other coworkers ordered the corn soup and got indigestion and told me "my food did not agree with me". I may order again, but maybe not soon in the future. I guess if you want mediocre Chinese food, this is the place for you. But if you want better, there is always Tiger Noodles on Nassau Street. read more

First, I was told a few weeks ago that they stopped making moo shu dishes because they were "too expensive". Hmmmm... When the best thing you can say about a restaurant is that it is cheap, you know that it is not the place you want to visit for a good meal. I have had their take out a few times over the past few years, but much less so since to opening of Shanghai Bun in the same shopping plaza. Most of what I have eaten has been dosed with MSG for a salty taste, and all the glaze/sauces are too thick. In a pinch Sultan Wok can fill the stomach without disasterous after effect, but unless you are on a strict budget, walk around the corner to Shanghai Bun for some real authentic Chinese cuisine. Alternatively, Asian Bistro offers good Korean and other Asian fare at reasonable prices, and sits on the northbound tracks next to the P'ton Junction train station. read more

I will admit to you, the internet, that the Sultans of WOK may possibly have my CC number on file, AND, I possibly may be guilty of ordering from my phone over the internet these delicious dumplings (pork pan fried) when I know I'll be driving past their establishment. Normally, I hate dumplings with huge thick shells, like these, BUT--big BUT (cannot lie), these dumplings are EXCELLENT. Five star dumplings, one click ordering over the internet. Here's a few key pointers: -Takes at least 40 minutes for them to prepare and deliver your order...meh -Minimum $8 delivery charge, $15 for credit cards -Cheap (lunch menu makes me feel like I hit the lotto) -They have their own car....hehe -Crispy noodles are pretty stale, disappointing -The wontons in the soup are GIGANTIC! Sultan Wok has my heart. For Chinese, it's my go-to in the area for good reliable classics. I love their Lo Mein, their egg drop and won ton soups, and their dumplings are boss, if a little greasy. But such is that nature of a dumpling. Sweet and sour pork comes crispy and delicious and their chicken/beef with broccoli is always a good bet. My go-to, however, is not one of their Chinese dishes. The thing I get, more often than I am comfortable admitting, is their Japanese bento box. It's $12.50, which is a great price point for what you get. I always get the Bento D, which is 6 pieces of tuna/salmon sashimi, 4 little fried shumai in a touch of yummy teriyaki-type sauce, a teeny bit of kani salad, a teeny bit of seaweed salad, and a nice mound of sushi rice. Also, miso soup. For $12.50. Of course, when I tack on tax, and the tip and delivery charge to cover for my laziness in not wanting to pick it up, it ends up being a little more. But at base level, it's a good amount of food for one and I love it every time. Yay Sultan! read more

I order VEGETARIAN SPRING ROLL... the cashier noted vegetarian spring roll correctly and once i got home and took a bite I immediately spit it out... they gave me a beef spring roll and with the people that even go there, some have religions or beliefs in general that don't permit them to eat beef or meats under certain circumstances or at all... this could have happened to anyone and I fear that it may happen further in the future. No one should order from here. If I could give this place less than one star I would. A work colleague and I decided to order and so she called and ordered for delivery. When the food came the order was wrong, so I called up to let them know that we got the wrong food. I was told immediately that the person working there didn't believe me that the order was wrong and needed to talk to my work colleague. When she answered he was immediately confrontational with her telling her she ordered wrong and that there was nothing he would do, not even replace the food. I can hear them arguing so rather than try to talk on the phone calmer heads would prevail if I just showed up and asked for a refund. Big mistake. I get there and this guy is looking for an argument. He tells me we ordered wrong and I said I wanted a refund in a very calm manner. This is where he decided to stare me down for a good 20 seconds before asking if I was threatening him. Now, in no way had I raised my voice so I said no I was just looking for a refund for my food. At this point two of the cooks from the kitchen emerge and stand behind me like they wanted to jump me, like I was going to do something and another comes out to stand behind the guy. I again ask for my refund and he says no, we ordered wrong, this happens and that this is a business and the customer hears things wrong. I ask him "well isn't the customer always right?" He said no the customer is not right and laughed. Then he again decided to raise his voice at me while I was being completely calm and lecture me again how this was our fault. For about the 30th time I ask again for my refund to a no. He asks what he's supposed to do with the food he refund. I said donate it. Well, this guys blood pressure must have jumped because he shot me a death stare and said "Why don't you donate it?" Then he stares me down again a good 10 seconds like he wants to jump over the counter at me. So I ask him if I need to call the police to get my refund. He says yes, throws the take out bag at me and says to leave. I call the police and apologize for calling them for something so dumb but I explain the situation to them. The were very kind about the whole situation. They tell me to wait outside while they go talk to him. I can hear the guy yelling at the officers now, too. One of the officers comes out and is very sympathetic to my plight. Says I have two options, one is dump the food and never come back to this place, the other is that they could try to get half the money back but this guy was going to be difficult. Rather than ask the officers to do anymore for something so dumb, I dump the food and leave. Never going back and they lost a good 20 customers from my office. read more

Ordered all vegetarian of course, so cannot couch for the meat based dishes. But the veg lo menu, fried rice and the ma po tofu was excellent. The order: I ordered delivery to Plainsboro via GrubHub tonight at about 7:05 p.m. Based on the reviews here, I ordered the chicken chow mein/pork fried rice/wonton soup combination and an order of pork potstickers. Including delivery, tax, and 10% tip, this set me back $18. The good: -There's a lot of food here. I'm stuffed and I still have leftovers for at least two more meals. -GrubHub said that the delivery fee would be $3, but when I actually paid, it was only $1.25. -GrubHub also predicted that it would be delivered between 8:15 and 8:25 (over an hour), but they arrived about 7:25. Only took 20 minutes! The bad: The food just isn't very flavorful. I was disappointed. -The wonton soup is just a pint of chicken broth with three wontons in it. No veggies or scallions or anything, and the dough of the wontons was really thick. -Similar story with the dumplings - the dough was really thick, the meat didn't have a lot of flavour, just salty. Also, by the time they arrived here (even though it was fast!) they weren't crispy anymore. -The rice wasn't bad, good flavor and consistency, but there wasn't very much pork or eggs in it. -Of the things I ordered, the chicken chow mein had the best flavor. However...there were no noodles! It was chicken, mung beans, celery, onions, and cabbage, all of which I like, but I was expecting some...y'know...mein.
