Reservation made at 3:30 for 7pm on a ( 2/14/21 ) Sunday night. Get there, and checked in at 6:57pm. Table not ready for seating until about 7:30pm. Now at 7:34pm we are seated but not a menu, or water, until 5 to 8pm. 25 minutes after seated. Menu fly through from about 8pm-8:15pm and order put in at just about 8:15pm. ........... Not a dish of food ( soup, salad, appetizer, main, dessert) until 9pm. Without exaggeration or sarcasm 8:59pm ( it was so unbelievable we had to make sure we read the time correctly. ) that's correct though. No appetizer, not a salad, nothingggggggggggg but water until 1 hour 59 minutes after our reservation (7pm). Nothing but water until 1 hour and 30 minutes ( after seating ) . It's amazing we stayed. How did we do it !!!! It would have been evened out if the food was good at least. It would have made up to some degree but sadly it was terrible. Atrocious unauthentic Bhukarian food. Imagine expecting the authentic Bhukharian dish of "Plov" and receiving it an hour and 30 minutes later but getting the meat in the dish so dry it's not chewable. Adding insult to injury was expecting customers not to realize you're using regular ole rice and not having it correctly done with Jasmine or Basmati rice. Not a single time does a manager or someone of authority come to express regret and apologies and the restaurant didn't even offer us ANYTHING to hold us over because such a wait. Came here for late night food it was crowded (New Years) crazy lady who worked their yelled at us 3 times that they needed 7-12 min - and we needed to wait they 'can't even breathe in there!' While the service was no complaints for me, I found that the food quality was just average. No one at my table complained but it certainly wasn't outstanding. The food pricing here seems to be pricey for what they are offering and you will be charged a mandatory tip. No frills, cheap eats with great people watching. I've eaten here on three occasions. Grab a table outside and take a look at the menu. I'm vegetarian so I always go with the ordover appetizer or the vegetarian plate. Food has always been fresh and prices are reasonable for SOBE. First off, this little restaurant is crazy busy. Maybe just because it's WMC, but there was clearly no type of line management going on and customers were haphazardly milling around. After finally ordering, I waited about 15 minutes and hoped my vegetarian plate looked like the ones being delivered to dine-in customers. For $15, what a let down. My veggie plate consisted of mostly tomatoes, a little bit of hummus, a lot of parsley-dominated tabbouleh, ONE dolma, a little pita and 3 baby-sized falafel. Solid Greek place. It's tiny, it's almost more of a falafel stand than a restaurant. It's near Rokbar and the Mynt, so if you're there late at night you'll be surrounded by revelers trying to satisfy their case of the munchies. They set up tables on the sidewalk, so you can take advantage of people watching and the all yellow Lamborghini's and Hummer limos that slowly drive by, if that's your thing. Hopefully you're mature enough to know that those cars passing by aren't as impressive as they are tacky and a monument to our country's backward habits of waste and frivolity. We ordered 3 items with one glass of red wine and spent $60. Yowza! I've never had the pizza, which everyone seems to complain about, but that's because I don't trust Italian food at a Mediterranean cafe. I've had the hummus, pita, Tzatziki, chicken kebabs, dolmas, and falafel. It's all decent, especially when most of your senses and motor skills are impaired. I usually stay on the positive side of things when I review on Yelp. So I will just stick to my observations. Lunch order for three people $51 to go. We didn't purchase any alcohol, just water and soda. I ordered the pizza for the first time ever. I was working this day and starving. I deliberated for awhile on whether or not it was worth it to me to eat a second slice as I had a hard enough time with the first. My co-luncher complained that her chicken ceasar salad was Meh. She voiced her complaint several times. My other co-luncher pretty much left his entire lunch kebab-of-something behind. I've always seen it packed at night.
