Wish there was a barrier separating me from the people in front of me at the side seating area or a bar to rest my feet on. Feel like I kept kicking the people in front of me Edit: I have kicked the person in front of me 3 times in the last 5 minutes. Two other people by me expressed the same concerns. Change me to 4 or 5 by gettimg foot bars.

While I have many fond memories of it's previous location across the street (now Archetype), the new location is simply way better. Sure, Sulivan's has lost its divey-ness, but swapping it out for a much larger space that is dark and cozy and comfortable was definitely the right move. Head there on Thursdays for some of the best karaoke in town. Head there on a Wednesday afternoon for a couple day drinks and some shuffleboard. Really, head here anytime and have a great time. Sullivan's is the long-time west end anchor of the Blackstone District, and there's good reason way.

I guess it would be fitting to make my first review the place I hang out the most. I've been going to Sullivan's for nearly a decade and love both its old location and the new and improved spot. Drink prices are extremely reasonable. $1 PBR drafts on Mondays, a wide variety of $2-4 shots, pretty much every beer is under $5 with cocktails also in the $4-6 range depending on what you get. Plus free popcorn and free munchies during Husker games. Sullivan's also has a lovely patio with a fireplace, the old shuffleboard table from the 49'r, lots of TVs, Golden Tee, karaoke on Thursdays and a Touchtunes jukebox. The crowd varies from chill but welcoming regulars in the afternoons to skewing younger and a little more crazy on late nights and weekends. It's obvious the gang at Sully's takes pride in the place and what they do. They're all a friendly bunch, so whether you're wanting an after-work beer while watching Jeopardy or you want to kick it with the college kids on a Friday night, make your way to Blackstone for this pillar of the community.

We had potato skins with cheddar and bacon as an appetizer. It was tasty but not wonderful. Bookguy had fish and chips. The fish was great, very crispy and light. It was a big portion so leftovers provided dinner later. The fries were a generous size and good too. I had a patty melt on rye with a salad. The salad was pretty standard and I really liked the patty melt-- big enough to take half home and not greasy. It was rather noisy while we were there and they probably could have used another server. We enjoyed our lunch and plan to come back again.

I went with the fish and chips and was blown away by this portion size and flavor! Two HUGE cod filets accompanied by a side of fries, but I went with the onion rings as I heard they were delicious. The cod has a thick, crunchy breading around it, making it very very filling. The onion rings were very unique. Not a long onion deep fried, but small onion pieces within the breading. I've never had something like that before, but they were golden brown and amazingly crunchy. Make sure you get extra tartar sauce for this dish because you're going to need it! Service was quick and easy for a take out order. I would come back for another meal to try their other menu options and drinks. Thanks for a great first impression!

Showed up to the location and were greeted by a very friendly guy who greeted us with the question "do you guys medicate?" Hmm...an Irish bar that also medicates...a full self-service bar lol. We quickly realized that we were talking to a representative from the Wellness Boutique and that the Dubliner Pub was actually downstairs. Walked down the stairs not knowing what to expect, opened the door and we were greeted by a very friendly bouncer. The bar atmosphere immediately gave genuine Irish bar vibes with low ceilings and lots of green lighting. The biggest win of the night was that they actually had Guinness on tap! There is plenty of space since the bar has two separate areas, the main area and a secondary area for live music. Had great conversation with a local guy named Chase. Fantastic experience overall. PROS - Great atmosphere. Tons of wall decal and neon lighting - Live music - Plenty of seating area - True Irish bar feel with lots of wall decals and local ceiling - Guinness on tap which, believe it or not, some Irish bars don't always have on tap. I just so happened to see a post on OFL about their upcoming special for roast pork, dumplings, and…read moresauerkraut and made an impulsive decision to have lunch here. Back story...I'm Vietnamese but I have come to LOVE this Czech dish due to my husband's family making it one a year on Thanksgiving instead of the normal line up. I could probably eat this every day...ehh, maybe once a week. And because it's such a niche dish and not commonly available, I will seek it out if it turns up. Such was the case here. I've never heard of Donohue's prior to this nor am I entirely familiar with all the great places in South Omaha. The building was unassuming and a bit darker lit, but you could tell it was a place where "regulars" hang- as evidenced by the waitress asking us if we needed menus (we did). The plate came within 5 minutes of ordering and it took about the same amount of time for me to devour it. The dumplings were delicious and the pork was some of the most tender, flavorful I have ever had. I think the gravy could have use a tad more salt (and I never add extra salt to anything) and I would've like the sauerkraut to be a bit more tart, but I understand that's a personal preference. The price was fair- I think maybe $11.99?, but I wouldn't have minded paying a little more to get a little more. Excited to come back next month when they have this special again!
