I brought in a jumpsuit for minor underarm repairs (about 1 inch on each side) and basic cleaning. I was quoted $32 for the repairs and $25 for cleaning--a total of $57 for a single garment. They also wanted to charge $20 just to remove some lint from a coat on top of the cleaning. I did not leave the coat as the quote for cleaning and lint removal was more than the coat is now worth. It's clear these people will charge as much as they can. Unfortunately, there are few cleaners in Harlem, but at this rate, I'd rather travel across state lines to New Jersey. Ridiculous! I did not leave the coat for service, as I could not justify paying these fees. But I did pay $57 for the jumpsuit because I had to have it repaired ASAP. If you're looking for fair pricing for basic repairs or cleaning, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

After buying my dress at The White Gown (which was great), I was introduced to Natasha to tailor my…read moredress. Natasha altered it well, and it fit before I left the store - however, upon getting to my wedding and hanging up my dress, we realized the inner most layer of fabric still had about 10 safety pins in it and the hem was never finished. I was constantly stepping on the innermost layer. Also, she had told me she would add to the bustle on the dress to be more secure, which was not done. The bustle broke off the dress, and the back of the dress ended up having to be safety pinned in order for me to dance during the evening. If not for having very crafty friends and family, the poor job Natasha did would have really affected the evening. If given Natasha as a seamstress, ensure everything you've asked for is 100% completed before leaving.

I am not leaving review usually but I need to. I bought a wedding dress online with good price and zipper goes up halfway only. The dress is gorgeous and do not want to return it. My dress has a lot of beading and many layers. I went to many tailors hearing there are not much fabric to let it out and refused. I almost give up the dress thinking about buying another dress. I went to Sullivan cleaners without much expectation. That was it. A week later, I went back for fitting. Zipper went up and it fit like a glove. I expected some extra fabric or cut on the dress but nothing. I do not know how they did it but it was amazing. I am so grateful that I found them to alter my wedding dress. Sullivan cleaners is one of the best in the city! I take my clothes very very seriously and have gone through some cases where the clothes came back completely wrecked. This is the very first time I've had a bad experience with them. I don't know where the miscommunication was and I don't fully know what to do with my suit jacket now. I paid and left today which honestly I probably should've pushed back a bit. While I asked for a hem, I triple checked with the receptionist that it wouldn't look strange and she recommended I don't open it from the shoulder as it would be more costly and that the standard hem would be sufficient and they do this quite often on blazers. I was a bit confused but given they've shortened coats / jackets and move buttons and fastenings up before, I didn't entirely disagree with her logic. I picked up the suit today and I just don't understand why this was even a good idea. I don't know if it's because the tailor wasn't there and the instructions weren't clear... I just don't know... I am disappointed with the result on a brand new suit jacket. Also, why staple through fabric when the item has a tag... like come on...

Then they proceeded to pull out a random white shirt and assume it was mine. I had to search for the shirt myself in the back and point out which one was mine. After not meeting a 72 hour turnaround deadline that they set themselves, a man proceeded to argue with me about what the stain actually was. I know candle wax was spilled on the shirt but they cleaned as if it were another oil. There was clearly no communication between the front desk and the cleaners. For them to assume zero responsibility and still charge me, despite the fact that they used an incorrect method to clean the stain, is unacceptable. It is embarrassing that they still operate this way. Another time, a lady refused to alter my pants and told me "it's ok, just leave them long like that". Thank goodness there is another cleaners and tailor right across the street.

That other store told me they could get the blood out, not only did they not get the blood out, they actually caused worse stains from whatever products they tried to use on it. Luckily I found New York Dry Cleaners and Sam brought my dress to his EXPERT father who said he would do his best and have it back to me later that evening. I dropped my dress off with tears in my eyes from distress, and I picked it up with tears in my eyes from relief as to my utter disbelief the dress looked basically good as new! Full transparency there was still a slight shadow of solution from the previous store in one corner, but it was hardly noticeable compared to how I dropped it off and ALL of the blood was completely gone - I still can't believe it! I'm actually excited to take the dress back after my brother's wedding to get it cleaned again and I bet they can get the remaining solution stain out- if anyone can it's Sam's dad (didn't catch his name) Sam and his father quite literally SAVED me for my brother's wedding and it was reasonably priced considering they could've really up-charged me in my desperate state.
