They set a new low for customer service. Upon giving them my phone number to search for my shirt, they searched the aisles back and forth at least five times. Then they proceeded to pull out a random white shirt and assume it was mine. I had to search for the shirt myself in the back and point out which one was mine. After not meeting a 72 hour turnaround deadline that they set themselves, a man proceeded to argue with me about what the stain actually was. I know candle wax was spilled on the shirt but they cleaned as if it were another oil. There was clearly no communication between the front desk and the cleaners. For them to assume zero responsibility and still charge me, despite the fact that they used an incorrect method to clean the stain, is unacceptable. It is embarrassing that they still operate this way. Another time, a lady refused to alter my pants and told me "it's ok, just leave them long like that". i used this place almost every month, I liked it a lot in the beginning they were fast and efficient. However recently there is a new laundry guy who comes to pick up my laundry and drop it off.. Wonderful job! Few days ago, my boyfriend asked me to take his clothes to dry cleaner and also get his pants hammed. Then i also have a dress that need to be shorten it so I brought it in to tailor. I was so shocking of how nice my dress came out! Fit me so perfectly! Both my boyfriend and I love this place. The person did an excellent job for our clothes! Look so good and well fit on both of us! The clothes were in a nice and neat package when I picked up! I like their service. People are so nice and answered all my questions. They also have a fitting room for me to try on my dress. The place is nice and clean and also have washers and dryers. You can do self wash or drop off service. Good for busy working people. I brought 2 items to be altered at New Spring on 2 separate occasions. Each time, the tailoring job was done very carelessly. I had to request a "do over / fix" on both jobs (these tailoring jobs were very minimal as well). On one job, they dry cleaned my dress and messed up some internal stitching. Instead of fixing their mistake, they safety pinned the chest cups back to the dress and returned the dress to me. Furthermore, the ties to the dress were also missing. They did not seem to care that they were giving me my item back completely differently than when I dropped it off. On the second job, they left extra cut fabric from the alteration on the dress. It was so carelessly altered that it made me wonder if they returned the dress to me before the job was complete. The lack of effort and obvious indifference in the work they are doing is very off putting. I will not be going back. read more

New Spring Cleaners is a step above the rest, and it comes down to the level of service. They are genuinely friendly people and even have dog treats for my dog. I don't normally use dry cleaners, but since needed to have our cloths clean during our recent trip to nyc. This one was close to where we were staying and since we don't have time to sit and wait at a laundromat we just brought out cloths here. They did an excellent job and was very friendly. We were able to drop off our cloths quickly and continued our exploring, they stayed open late . When we picked out everything was nicely cleaned and we had no issues of missed stains. WORSE PLACE EVER!First of all, if I'm sending 2 white cotton button downs for a service, why do I have to send them back because it's still wrinkled? UNACCEPTABLE. I've only ever had great experiences with these guys. Friendly service, timely turnaround and good quality cleaning for both wash and fold and dry cleaning. Prices for laundry are comparable to other NYC cleaners. I can't speak to their delivery or tailoring, but I'd suspect both are quite good given how they conduct themselves in store and how much business they seem to have in both. As to responsibility, I left my Social Security Card in a suit I dropped here, and they made sure to keep the card safe and let me know I'd left it! I'm a moron, but they're great. I'm going to give them a second chance. Because of how they handled their mistake. I dropped off 25 pounds of wash and fold. I asked them to separate them. They didn't. They washed my new red jeans with my whites. So I got back a pile of pinks. But, I didn't have to raise a stink or fuss at them. I just had to ask, and they rewashed everything for free. Even dry cleaning the items that were the red-splotchiest. And they had a great attitude about it. I still see a slight pink tinge on some things. But I think that's because I KNOW. I don't think others will notice. So I'm gonna drop off a few more pounds tonight. I'll keep you posted. read more

Very average, with several hiccups during my first experience. I recently moved to the area and was very thorough in comparing the pricing, online reviews, and newness of machines across all the options nearby. Pricing comes out to be nearly the same for wash and fold service among all of them at a 15lbs load which is my average. What won me over to Spring Cleaners is that they had a Yelp Deal of $35 for $50 worth of spend. So I figured that's some nice savings and I bought it. Went straight to them to redeem and drop off my 15lbs. Well, unfortunately that coupon is not valid for Wash & Fold. But that wasn't stated anywhere on there nor in the fine print. And they knew it. I told the lady that it's not mentioned anywhere; she laughed and said "I know, you can talk to my boss tomorrow if you want" - but considering I had all that laundry with me already I wanted to just get it done. So I said OK, load it onto my account, and maybe over time I'll use it for Dry Cleaning. But yet again, no go. She said the $50 has to be used in one swing or the rest falls through. Well that's not going to happen since $50 worth of dry cleaning at my pace would require more shirts than I own. So I contacted Yelp for a refund. After all was said and done, I checked my laundry upon pick-up the day after. It was clean (I guess), smelled like some sort of spices more than like detergent or bleach (I had all whites and asked for bleach at $1 extra) but that's fine. The part I didn't like was that they lost 1 sock and also 1 undershirt of time. Not a lot at a 15lbs load but then again if that happens every time I'll be out of socks and undershirts after a few months. So I'll be exploring other options in the area. read more

HORRIBLE - DO NOT GO HERE if you want to actually get your clothes back. A) they lost a dress, never apologized, never gave me a refund, and will not admit they lost the dress. Every time I call they continue to say "oh we have it, just not here. No one knows where it is. Where do I start? After moving to the West Village, I had read good reviews from this dry cleaners and thought I would get a suit dry cleaned. After receiving the suit back, I discovered that the suit trouser hook had been ripped off and the jacket had a tear along the sleeve. I visited called and visited the store and explained what had happened and asked them to fix the issues. Wash and fold customers BEWARE! I've started weighing my laundry bag before it gets picked up because my wash and fold went up to $19!! for a 11 pound bag --- I couldn't figure out why because they always rip out the receipt before they deliver to my apartment. I finally realized when I stopped by to pick up my laundry after work one day and asked for a receipt. They add on extra charges like separate wash, low heat, extra dry, even when I ask them for regular wash every time. They also overestimate the weight of your bag - so the 11 pound bag I dropped off all of a sudden became 13 pounds. The only way to prevent this is to drop off at the laundromat where the short Asian man will say "okay we got this." and try to get you to leave. Nope --- you have to stand there, watch him weigh the bag, and confirm the exact weight. Then ask for a receipt, and when you see the extra charge, you have to say, "no I don't want it separated or extra dry." and get a different receipt. Upon pick-up, do not leave your credit card on file ---- ask to see the receipt first, and then pay. If you don't do the above, they will charge you for more and also add an extra tip for themselves. read more

I live around the corner and had been a customer for at least a year. Laundry was always satisfactory, they never hemmed anything correctly, and they lost $600 worth of my dry cleaning back in September. In October, they told me they were still looking for it and to come back in a "few days", which they kept telling me for several weeks. Eventually, they admitted to losing my things and asked me to produce receipts for the lost items, which I did for 2 of the 3 pieces. Since November, I have stopped in almost once a week asking where my reimbursement is. t's now January and they continue to string me along, telling me the manager will call me. I have not received a phone call and have not seen .01 penny of the $600 worth of clothing they lost. If you are deciding on a laundromat/dry cleaner, use the one across the street!!! read more

As a long time resident of the west village, I remember when Spring Dry Cleaners was across the street of where they are now and they cared about their customers. That is no longer the case! Recently, I walked over to have a zipper fixed on a pair of suit pants ( charge $25) seemed expensive but since they said it would be ready In 48 hours, I left expecting to pick up my garment as promised. That was 30 days ago (and counting ). Ever since the manager, the counter attendant , "the other manager" have begged me to be patient as they try to find my pants. One more day, one more day.... finally when I asked, How long do you want me to wait, the reply was shocking ... six months .... Conclusion: Be warned the owner and manager of Spring Dry Cleaners in the West Village, are not nice people, they will say and do anything not to take responsibility for losing garments. They stall, make excuses and tell you to come back when "owner" is there, which apparently the "owner" never comes to the store. They do not care about you or your belongings, they are greedy and will not compensate you for any loss you suffer because of their ineptitude. There are many choices of dry cleaners and laundry facilities in the West Village, this one should be avoided at all costs. Spring did not disappoint when it came to cleaning my prom dress! My dress has a train with a very delicate chantilly lace all around the bottom, which got insanely dirty. It also rained on prom day so there were traces of mud and gravel. I thought it was beyond salvaging but when I got it back it looked BRAND NEW! I highly recommend Spring for all formal wear, especially prom dresses. The employees are very accommodating and friendly! read more

DO NOT COME HERE. I have had a couple of fine experiences with their wash and fold, but my experience today has sealed the deal, and I will no longer be coming here ever again. They randomly overcharged me for wash + fold today, claiming to charge extra for delicate wash and low heat dry, which they've never done before, and honestly doesn't make any sense. $16.25 for 11 pounds of laundry, which doesn't add up correctly if you do the math of what they charge, and regardless, is absolutely ridiculous. To make matters even worse, I discovered that my clothes were STILL WET when unpacking at home. I called them and had to explain the situation about 4 times to separate people, and they refused to refund me, just coming up with BS excuses. Total rip off and totally unprofessional. They are very fast, the folding is amazing! All the clothes smell fresh every time. I am a little picky about which clothes got hanging to dry, but they execute faithfully even my weirdest request. The price is reasonable and have long hours, 7:30am to 9 pm. So glad I only live one block away from this place. read more
