We waited another 20 minutes just to have someone come take our order, and by that point we were still waiting for even our drink order to arrive. For such a small restaurant, the delays made no sense. The lack of organization and attentiveness really ruined the experience. A simple "we'll be right with you" would have gone a long way, but instead it felt like customers were being completely overlooked. We ordered fresh garlic and the garlic masher they gave still had old garlic inside. On top of that, they don't wipe tables between customers because they're so busy. Strictly rating the food, Kai Ramen deserves a solid 4 stars, but as a whole, I think 3 stars is generous. There are only 3 choices on the Sake menu, but they're selling Kikusui for $5 less than most other places, so you're ahead of the game before you even mix your wasabi into your soy. Garlic Edamame was served piping hot and dressed in a rich coating of garlic and soy. Very tasty and very properly cooked, unlike so many other places, where the edamame is over-steamed into a mushy, unmemorable mess. Instead, these beans had snap and a good bit of their own flavor standing up to the sauce. A very nice surprise from such a ubiquitous starter.
